-Anthrax Premieres “Evil Twin,” The First New Song From The Band’s Upcoming 2016 Album; Track Is Accompanied By Bold Lyric Video Clip!

“Evil Twin,” the first new song from Anthrax’s long-awaited album set for a first quarter 2016 worldwide release (Megaforce/North America * Nuclear Blast/Europe, UK), has debuted. Also released is the “Evil Twin” lyric video, a compelling barrage of places, victims, actions, and some of the infamous zealots who have perpetrated violent extremism on innocents around the world, aptly exemplifying the song’s powerful message. The video can be viewed here:

“Evil Twin” is now available digitally, and can be purchased here:

Musically, “Evil Twin” is a full-on thrash-metal tune that blasts off with a raging guitar riff, accelerates expeditiously, and is completely uncontrollable.

“Yeah, that opening riff is really evil,” laughed the band’s Charlie Benante. “We had done a lot of touring with Death Angel and Exodus, so I was in a really thrashy state of mind when I starting writing the riffs for that song. I think along with Scott’s lyrics and Frank’s melodies, we came up with a really great, old school thrash metal feel.”

As Anthrax bassist Frank Bello put it, “it’s a song that begs to be played live.”

Lyrically, the track unapologetically denounces the self-righteous religious extremists who spread their bloody terror under the guise of a holy war.

You represent your discontent
Slaughtering the innocent
You’re no martyrs

“I was very affected by the Charlie Hebdo massacre as I have been with all of the shootings that have taken place at schools and movie theatres,” said Anthrax lyricist Scott Ian. “I can’t figure out what would cause someone to think that was the right thing to do. ‘I’ll show the world, I’ll make my God happy.’ It’s just such bullsh*t. I’m not bagging on religion, that’s not my intent, but people who go to that extreme, who feel they have become judge, jury, and executioner over their fellow man because you or I don’t believe the same thing they do, I think that’s the ‘Evil Twin’ of humanity. Writing words about that is my only catharsis.”

Beginning in the fall of 2014, Anthrax — Benante (drums), Ian (rhythm guitar), Bello (bass), Joey Belladonna (vocals), and lead guitarist Jon Donais — took their time in the studio recording the follow-up to their Grammy-nominated, critically-acclaimed 2011 album, WORSHIP MUSIC. The band recorded some 20 original songs, almost twice as many as they had ever brought into the studio in the past. In terms of how the new music sounds, Bello said, “The thing about Anthrax… we have this heavy, thrashy music and Joey’s powerful and melodic vocals. I love heavy music, but I also love melody, so the challenge is to blend them together so they sound like Anthrax. I think we’ve done a really good job of that on the new album.”

-Veteran Rock Band Survivor Hits The Road With Lead Vocalist Cameron Barton

[Note: We heard about this on MelodicRock.com. – Tim]

Legendary rock band Survivor is embarking on their next chapter in 2016 with a new member who has seemingly given new life to one of rock ‘n’ roll’s preeminent bands. With 21-year-old Nashville resident Cameron Barton assuming lead vocalist duties, the group will take their trademark arena rock sound to their loyal and devoted fan base.

Barton steps into the role of Jimi Jamison, who passed away in September 2014. Survivor is excited to have Cameron bring his powerhouse vocal style to the band’s live shows. “He’s great,” says the band’s Frankie Sullivan. “After hearing him, I was in Nashville within 24 hours. I was in the studio with him about a day later. I stayed with him for about four days, and put him through the ringer. He just kept getting better and kept delivering.” Barton’s commitment to getting the job done is something that impresses his band mate. “He’s a very focused guy. Most musicians aren’t that focused when they are that young. He learned 20 songs in about eight days.”

Sullivan noted that there might be pressure of taking on the role of lead singer in a group with such a historic pedigree, but he says Barton doesn’t seem to be affected by the pressure. “He just wants to do what he does. You get new people in with new ideas, and usually that comes with a different vibe.”

All in all, the band is hoping that 2016 brings more success with their impending tour and planned album, slated for later in the year. “I think it could be a year to remember. He has a great work ethic.”

Survivor released their first album in 1980 on Scotti Brothers. Their first Top-40 on the Hot 100 came the next year with “Poor Man’s Son.” Their big break would come in 1982 when the band was asked by Sylvester Stallone to provide the theme song for “Rocky III.” That single, “Eye Of The Tiger,” hit # 1 — staying there for seven weeks, winning a Grammy for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal, a People’s Choice Award, and an Academy Award nomination. The song came in at #18 on the “Top 100 Singles” chart in Billboard’s 100th Anniversary issue and it’s well over the 300,000 mark on iTunes, where it’s currently holding strong at #9 on their “Top Soundtrack” chart. The band also struck paydirt as a result of a Stallone movie when “Burning Heart” appeared on the soundtrack of “Rocky IV” in 1985, hitting #2 on the singles chart.

The band’s VITAL SIGNS was another huge success for the band, peaking at #16 on Billboard’s “Top 200 Albums” chart thanks to the Billboard Top-20 hits “I Can’t Hold Back” (#13), “High On You” (#8), and “The Search Is Over” (#4).

Dates for 2016 will be announced soon. For more information about Survivor, log on to http://www.SurvivorBand.com/ .

-RAM: SVBVERSVM Full-Length From Swedish Heavy Metal Loyalists Streaming In Full At Noisey; Record To See Worldwide Release This Friday Via Metal Blade

“Dig Portrait? Love Natur? Stoked for Judas Priest’s next tour? Do yourself a favor and stream SVBVERSVM in all its well-sharpened glory.” – Noisey

Swedish heavy metal defenders (of the faith), RAM, will drop the molten fruits of their SVBVERSVM full-length upon the masses this Friday via Metal Blade Records. Brimming with fist-pumping hymns of death, post-apocalyptic dominance, and total devastation through iron, RAM’s fourth studio offering was self-produced at Black Path Studios, mixed at Welfare Sounds by Olle Björk, Per Stälberg, and RAM, and mastered by Daniel Johansson.

In an advance 8/10 review of the record, Dead Rhetoric gushes, “Rare is the day where one hears an opening mid-tempo riff and marching sequence for ‘Holy Death’ that captivates in the same way as the iconic ‘Balls To The Wall’ did for Accept listeners in 1984, but RAM succeed in embedding another series of hooks and riffs through this arrangement stage ready for simultaneous axe swings or hip flexing. Other dark chord combinations summon early makings of Savatage and Sanctuary, such as opener ‘Return Of The Iron Tyrant’ and the slow churning triplet action meets brooding clean transitions for ‘Temples Of Void.'” The esteemed blog farther elaborates, “After DEATH’s more ’70s Rainbow/Judas Priest slant, RAM come forward into US metal influences from the ’80s while still maintaining that finesse and melodic sensibility that is necessary for long term retention.” Of second single, “The Usurper,” Heavy Blog Is Heavy notes, “RAM are keeping the dream alive for those clamoring for a modern take on the powerful ’80s metal scene that propelled legends Judas Priest, Dio, and Iron Maiden into the spotlight.” Adds Battle Helm, “From Oscar Carlquist’s screaming crescendo vocals to the heavy, raw, twin-guitar attack of Harry Granroth and Martin Jonsson, RAM are well poised to bring about their reign of heavy metal tyranny! On this fourth album there is a definite step up in the composing, with some truly heavy and dark material giving a mystical and occult atmosphere to the 10 majestic tracks herein, especially with that aforementioned crushing guitar sound made all the more prominent by the big but natural production.”

As a special precursor to its release this week, today Noisey hurls forth SVBVERSVM in its anthemic entirety noting: “Each track on the nearly hour-long album is a master class in traditional heavy metal (dosed with just a snort of vintage speed) that promises to bang the head that does not bang, from ‘The Usurper’ (which liberates that combination of words from their Celtic Frost-forged chains to deliver a fist-pumping revenge anthem) to the sky-scraping falsetto vocals and wailing NWOBHM licks on the title track.”

Bang your heads in unison to the sounds of SVBVERSVM courtesy of Noisey at http://noisey.vice.com/blog/ram-Svbversvm-stream .

SVBVERSVM will be unleashed on October 30th via Metal Blade Records worldwide. In Europe, the record will come available as a limited CD/DVD digi-pak, as well as on CD and vinyl. Pre-order your copy today at http://www.metalblade.com/ram .

3. The Usurper
4. Enslaver
5. Holy Death
6. Terminus

Love N War, one of Houston, Texas’ leading high-energy melodic hard rock / metal bands currently on the scene are independently re-releasing their (2012) long sought after debut CD UP THE ANNIE to the worldwide specialized rock / metal media and radio outlets for review and airplay for the very first time ever.

Track Listing:

1. Love N War
2. Save Me
3. Revolution
4. 6 Feet
5. 710 Groove
6. Dead Man Walkin’
7. Hungry
8. Freakshow
9. Meltdown
10. Haunting

Love N War band lineup:

John Adams – Lead Guitar/Vocals
Jeff Vandenberghe – Lead Vocals
Donnie Bragg – Drums
Ray Soliz – Bass Guitar

Love N War was initially formed in early 2000 when guitarist / song writer John Adams and vocalist / composer Jeff Vandenberghe met to do a reunion of their former band. The duo has been writing music, performing, and touring together since 1982 and after rehearsals and fueled by an interest to write new songs together again, they decided to join up in a brand new musical outfit.

Guitarist John Adams says, “Me and Jeff have always clicked when writing together, so immediately we knew that the time was right to form a band and play once again.”

The duo was later joined by drummer Donnie Bragg, who’s hard-hitting “Bonham” style playing provided the required groove that helped define the band’s massive chest-pounding drum sound. With the final addition of bassist Ray Soliz in 2010, the band’s signature locked and loaded bottom end was established and the backbone of the band complete.

Love N War’s goal is very simple: Deliver melodic hard rock to the legions of fans hungry for this style of music. The band has been working hard on the local live circuit and creating a major buzz in the Houston, Texas area since releasing their debut CD UP THE ANNIE in 2012.

Love N War has repeatedly been the go-to opening band for numerous national acts passing through the Houston area and are now hard set on recording their follow-up second CD during 2016.

“What it comes down to it for us,” says guitarist John Adams, “[is] we love what we are doing because it comes from the heart, while we showcase our style and creativity together through music as we look forward to sharing it with our loyal fans.”

Love N War is highly recommended for fans of Guns N’ Roses, Kiss, Skid Row, and Whitesnake.

-November 20th Releases From Napalm Records: Honeymoon Disease, Phantasma, & Manegarm

November 20th sees a trio of amazing releases from Napalm Records, including the debut albums from Honeymoon Disease and Phantasma as well as another killer release from Manegarm.

Honeymoon Disease
Napalm Records
20 November 2015

Track List:
1. Higher
2. Stargazer
3. Imperial Mind
4. Gotta Move
5. You’re Too Late
6. Breakup
7. Bellevue Groove
8. Fast Love
9. Rock N Roll Shock
10. Brand New Ending
11. Keep Me Spinning

Honeymoon Disease’s single “Fast Love” (2014) was quite possibly the surprise of the year: The Quartet from Gothenburg, Sweden didn’t just release an acceptable debut single, but delivered a heavy-speed-rocking masterpiece which could easily hold a candle comparable to classic outfits like Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy, or Rainbow. The “Bellevue Groove” single B-side also pays tribute to The Damned with a fantastic cover of “Neat, Neat, Neat.”

With such a heavy-hitting debut single, the weighted question remains as to whether the band can deliver the same quality on a full-length debut. THE TRANSCENDENCE delivers, answering this question with an album full of future classics steeped in timeless charm, blessed with massive grooves, spirited with cocky howls, and seasoned with classic style riffs. Honeymoon Disease are proof that the Modern Retro Rock movement is not a male-dominated genre; with two women, Jenna and Acid, jointly responsible for their unique sound, Honeymoon Disease are making their mark with testosterone-fueled rhythm on anthems like “Gotta Move!” So follow, or get out of their way!

5. Enter Dreamscape
6. Miserable Me
7. The Lotus And The Willow
8. Crimson Course
9. Carry Me Home

12. Let It Die

Allow yourself to be transported to another world by Phantasma — a project sprung from the collective energy of Georg Neuhauser (Serenity), Oliver Philipps (Everon), and Charlotte Wessels (Delain). The release features memorable songs and intense arrangements centered around the included novella “The Deviant Hearts.”

Phantasma was born from the longstanding ambition to create a story-driven concept record of Georg Neuhauser, vocal force behind Tyrolean Symphonic Metal outfit Serenity. He found his partner in crime with multi-instrumentalist composer, producer, and vocalist Oliver Philipps (Everon) who gladly embarked on this new mission that allowed him to reconnect with being a musician in the first place, as a welcome change from working for other bands, which he has done extensively over the years, providing the rich sound connoisseurs of the genre have come to expect from him. As Oliver worked with Delain since their debuting record, a request at Charlotte Wessels’ address was made to complete the dynamic trio of Phantasma. To introduce Charlotte Wessels to any connoisseur of Symphonic metal would be like carrying coals to Newcastle — she is, after all, since 2005 the vocal figurehead of Dutch grandees Delain. It is therefore not only surprising, but also gratifying that Charlotte now even found some leisure time, to lend not only her voice to Phantasma but also her debut novella “The Deviant Hearts” — which was written especially for the project.

With Phantasma she can let her beautiful and variable voice run free like the wind — sometimes tender like on “Runaway Grey,” plaintive on “Let It Die,” and the duet “The Lotus And The Willow” — makes Charlotte’s passion for Nick Cave abundantly clear, matching even the intensity of “Where The Wild Roses Grow.” Meanwhile Georg’s dedication for classic rock acts like Queen and Meat Loaf shine through in tracks like “Crimson Course” and “Novaturient.” Giving a face to other characters in the story are noted guest vocalists, such as Tom Englund, who performs on title track “The Deviant Hearts,” Cloe Lowery on the heart-wrenching ballad “Try” alongside Dennis Schunke, who can be heard also on the comforting “Carry Me Home.”

Album Guests:
Tom S. Englund – Vocals (Band: Evergrey)
Dennis Schunke – Vocals (Band: Van Canto)
Chloe Lowery – Vocals (Band: Trans-Siberian Orchestra/ Chameleon)
Jason Gianni – Drums (Band: Daredevil Squadron/ Neal Morse Band/ Trans-Siberian Orchestra)

-Mirror: Occult Heavy Metal Alchemists Uniting Members Of Satan’s Wrath And Repulsion Unveil New Single At The Obelisk

From unlikely origins, dark forces have been summoned, in the form of the self-titled debut album by brand new occult heavy metal alchemists, Mirror. A work of rare passion, drama, and intrigue set for release via Metal Blade Records on November 13th, 2015, this collection of cult crypt-kickers and mighty conjurings bears all the hallmarks of an instant classic.

Mirror is the musical brain-child of prime mover, bassist, and diehard metal connoisseur Tas Danazoglou (Satan’s Wrath, ex-Electric Wizard). A chance meeting with respected producer (Ghost, Cathedral, Paradise Lost) and accomplished drummer Jaime Gomez Arellano led to the pair hitting on a shared vision of a classically aligned outfit that drew inspiration from the epic amplified landscapes of lore and legend whilst avoiding the lure of mere tribute, rather reinventing the sound and fury they loved anew. They were soon joined on this quest by Satan’s Wrath axeman Stamos K, and their fate further sealed by the arrival of the mightily operatic tenor of vocalist Jimmy Mavromatis, before the ouroborus was completed with the arrival of Los Angeles-based guitarist Matt Olivo, whose infamy was earned as the guitarist of grindcore pioneers Repulsion.

Yet not only have these five far-flung warriors managed to stay true to the spirit of their original mission, they’ve positively transcended it, delivering a thunderously resonant salvo of metal magnificence with as much savagery and sorcery to offer as pomp or circumstance. Grandiose in approach, richly melodic in delivery, and fiercely passionate in character, MIRROR is a veritable feast for the lover of traditional hard rock and heavy metal. Think the glorious widescreen sweep of Rainbow’s RISING, the mystical atmosphere of Angel Witch’s self-titled debut, and the cinematic sturm-und-drang of early Iron Maiden, yet also prepare to bear witness to a band taking the sparks that flew in the transition from the rock of the ’70s to the metal of the ’80s, and using them to forge a fire of their own creation.

As a precursor to its release, The Obelisk thrusts forth the galloping sounds of sixth track, “Galleon,” now streaming at this location:

And don’t forget to check out first single, the epic “Heavy King,” where you’ll also find pre-order bundles at http://www.metalblade.com/mirror/ .

All or any expectations have been shattered all around, as Mirror has reached deep into the metallic mother lode. And such are the portals opened up by their dark serenades. One suspects we’ll be in for rather more agreeable fate than any customary seven years bad luck.

-Idobi Howl Exclusive Album Premiere: Silent Line’s SHATTERED SHORES

Bonnyville, AB death-infused melodic metallers Silent Line have teamed up with Idobi Howl for the exclusive stream of their new concept album SHATTERED SHORES, released October 23rd to follow up their 2012 LP, BORN OF A DYING STAR.

The band explains the album:

“SHATTERED SHORES is a concept album — our first attempt at one — that depicts a tortured island stuck in time being slowly worn away by an endless ocean. Themes of frost, snow, fire, night, and stars are used to illustrate feelings of hopelessness, fear, and loss. A single person is referred to throughout the album and everything is told from their point of view as they wander, stuck on the island unsure of how they got there, and unsure if they will ever leave. Lots of references to snow and frost are used as we live in Canada, and there is a lonely but beautiful character to the long winter we experience. Another recurring theme is the storm, which brings change and renewal; it is — for lack of a better term — the symbol of hope and of a brighter future.

“Overall, SHATTERED SHORES has a melancholic feel to it. It is definitely darker than our other albums, but we feel that it is much more mature and identifiable with an audience. It’s not meant to be depressing, but it deals with real issues and lots of the time those are not pretty. While it is a darker album, the message is not. Overcoming internal issues and feelings is the prime focus, and to describe how important that is, it is necessary to spend time describing the more pessimistic side of things and what makes it so crippling. The songs are more involving and deeper in meaning and structure than our last release, and we took a step back technically on purpose. Individually, the instruments are not as ‘crazy’ as before, but we had a vision for the songs this time, we could see the end product and knew that to get there we didn’t have to play the most technically demanding things as fast as we could. The songs, while more simple, have far more feeling and emotion than before and we are very proud of what we have produced. We hope that everyone listening to the album can find something they enjoy, something they identify with, and something that makes them want to continue listening.”

To listen to the album stream for SHATTERED SHORES, please visit the following link:

Producing heavy and melodic music with an orchestral flair rooted in death metal SHATTERED SHORES is the band’s first concept album. The title track is split into two parts, and throughout the album several thematic riffs and lyrics are repeated, creating a motif for listeners. The title references being stranded and trapped forever as the shores become more eroded and the reality of isolation sets in. The lyrics revolve around the themes of overcoming hardships, anxiety, and “weathering the storm” in order to persevere. A single person is referred to throughout the album and everything is told from their point of view as they wander, stuck on the island — unsure of how they got there, and unsure if they will ever leave.

Silent Line is composed of Mike Burton leading the charge on guitar and vocals, Randy Bergh writing pummeling guitar riffs, Andy Sidloski crafting driving bass lines, and Adam Kallstrom thundering on drums. The lineup charges audiences with their energy and fills the entire room with its symphonic melodies. Their dedication to their craft is strengthened by their loyal fans, who have supported their development over the years with their two previous albums BORN OF A DYING STAR (2012) and ONE BODY BLADE (2010).

1. Frost Of The Night (5:46)
2. Erosion (3:52)
3. Black And White (3:21)

-SayWeCanFly Takes Viewers On An Animated Journey Through The Socio-Political World Via “High School”

TORONTO — Singer/song writer act SayWeCanFly tackles the many harsh realities of the state of the human race all within less than four minutes in the new animated video for “High School,” the first single from DARLING, SayWeCanFly’s debut EP for Epitaph, available now.

“The song is really about how I feel the world has lost its mind, and humans have completely lost touch with each other,” said SayWeCanFly’s Braden Barrie. “People treat each other poorly in high school and it continues on a much larger scale in war, politics, and racism. I really wanted to capture the feeling of being alone in a foreign place that makes no sense to the character because he feels hurt by the way things are around him. He just wants to feel loved and he wants others to be happy, and doesn’t see a reason for the chaos and pain.”

Using simple images, the video makes a huge visual impact. “From the very start of the video’s production, I really wanted to combine the strong message behind Braden’s lyrics with the theme of its title, ‘High School,'” said director John Howe. “Braden describes how the world is full of atrocities, and that it is important to bring awareness to these happenings.”

The video follows a character as he embarks on his first day as an outsider in a new school. The high school represents a miniature society featuring individual students depicting the world’s problems. The character acts as a passenger, allowing the audience to follow his day and witness the contrast between him and the rest of the students. In the end, the sun slowly gravitates towards the Earth before swallowing it whole.

“The ending was very clear to me, thanks to the fact that Braden’s lyrics are packed with imagery,” Howe said. “The sun has been seen as a sentient being since the dawn of humanity’s reign. So what would be more fitting end to have the very thing that gave us life take it all away?”

Howe is the director of numerous animated videos and countless lyric videos. The UK-based director previously focused on corporate work before stepping over to music. “It made me realize how much creative freedom the music business has to offer,” he said. “It really makes every project a joy to work on, especially when the artist has a strong core message within the song. What I particularly like about ‘High School’ is that it’s daring to speak up about very real issues in our society today. Thanks to the rise of Internet culture, I believe that musicians have more of a podium to share their voice than ever before without the fear of being censored.”

“I know we all have a hard time addressing the darkness we know exists in our world,” Barrie said, “but I had to do my best to put those issues in front of everyone in a way I think we can all understand.”

“High School” premiered last week exclusively on MTVu. The video is now available to view on YouTube.

The song went thru a few re-writes. I recorded it thru a ’63 Fender Princeton Verb as opposed to my usual arsenal of high gain/modern amps I would use in the studio. The music, the tone, and the emotion were a perfect marriage. I am proud of this song, it meant a lot to me to get it out of my system. I hope you guys enjoy it.”

-Witchcraft — described as “Swedish classic / doom rock masters” — will release NUCLEUS early next year on Nuclear Blast. Hype has it “said to be pursuing the more rawer side of the older recordings as well as the slightly modern path of the younger past. With an all new lineup (Rage Widerberg on drums and Tobias Anger on bass) the band sounds more hungry and powerful than ever again.” Main man Magnus Pelander (vocals, guitar) rounds out the lineup. See http://www.facebook.com/witchcraft/ for more.

-This maybe isn’t soooo metal, but I’ve worked with Anne Leighton since before Detritus was even born, promoting her artists, reviewing albums, attending shows, doing interviews, etc. She’s great, and if you are into poetry, give this your attention.

Anne Leighton Releases Her First Book Of Poetry, “The Leighton Explosion!”

(Tour dates and merchandise to follow, bit by bit, through 2017!)

Anne Leighton is pleased to announce the birth of her first poetry book, “The Leighton Explosion,” which has always been the title Anne has wanted to use. “Inspired by The Music Explosion who rocked with a favorite song, ‘A Little Bit Of Soul.’ It’s optimistic, glorious, fun, and self-empowering, which are qualities I love in art…”

Empowerment was something Anne felt all the way through the making of the book. She pre-sold “The Leighton Explosion” through a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. Lots of friends, including her stepbrother Ken Bluttman, helped her along. “Through my whole adult life, when my dad was telling me to get ‘a real job with the phone company,’ Ken was one of the biggest cheerleaders I had.” In the campaign, Ken would cc Anne and some of her closest friends in round-robin emails, “Come on, let’s spread the word; she’s gonna reach her goal.” Anne says,”He believed in me.”

Her father’s attitudes changed for the better as Anne became an editor at a rock magazine, Hit Parader, and built a freelance career as a writer in rock, fitness, and cat magazines including Billboard, Goldmine, Creem, Catfancy, Inside Kung Fu/Karate, Entertainment Weekly, and then authoring books: “Using Your Art And The Media To Comfort People” (Free to Run, California) and “Paws For Thought How To Know What Your Cat Is Thinking” (Rockwell UK), and her own 2014 ebook, “Get The Gig: Common Sense Career Consulting.” Her plays are read in churches, libraries, and bars. They were also performed at the Howl Fest and by The Poets Repertory Theater of Long Island. She won some small writing awards and honorable mention for a 1993 Billboard song writing contest for the song “Carry Across” with Jessie Galante. She also works in music and publicity with clients that include Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson (who wrote the foreword to “The Leighton Explosion”).

Anne has also performed on radio and in a variety of recordings, from Jay Tausig’s “Trip Around The Sun” series to the the Grammy-nominated album, HEALTHY FOOD FOR THOUGHT: GOOD ENOUGH TO EAT. It was with the making of HFFT that she met Canadian poetry publisher Ken Cowle.

“The Leighton Explosion” is available for order at every major book chain in North America, Australia, Europe, and South America. Next, look for Anne’s growing merchandise line (e-books, home recordings of the book, USB sticks, and her T-shirts, all designed by Anne!).

As for her agoraphobia, she’s becoming more mighty every day. She travels by buses throughout the city, and then asks people to help her cross the street till she reaches her destination. She will be traveling and sharing her poetry live through 2017 in New England, Washington, DC, eastern Pennsylvania, Buffalo, the Bronx, and Manhattan. She would love to open for Courtney Barnett.

“Anne Leighton is hilarious.” – Bebe Buell, author of “Rebel Heart,” singer, animal lover

“Whether musing about pets or past loves, the pleasure of her word-play is palpable.” – Sander Roscoe Wolff, LBPost.com

“You have an awesome book, Anne, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, and found myself, smiling often, and laughing out loud at times too, with your great sense of humor and wit.” – Ken Cowle, Anne’s publisher at Soul Asylum books

“The Leighton Explosion” on Amazon:

-Do you think that Cage bassist Alex Pickard ever feels left out, since he’s apparently the only guy in the band without an ass-kicking nickname? Seriously, his mates are “The Hell Destroyer,” “Conan,” “The Sentinel,” and “The Thrash Machine.”

-Some of the top-end Kickstarter rewards Doro is offering include having her come to your wedding to sing “Fur Immer,” or to your house to play a show.

-I saw some Iron Maiden import CD singles selling for $50 or so at Half Price Books the other day. Yowza!!!
