Recording it was a labor of love for me, as I did all of the writing, arranging, producing, etc. I’m honored to have some of the finest musicians in rock today bring these songs to life for me. -Redemption To Release New Album THE ART OF LOSS In Early 2016 Via Metal Blade Records!

Redemption’s sixth album, THE ART OF LOSS, has been completed and will be released early in 2016 by Metal Blade Records. Featuring groundbreaking guest performances from a number of legendary musicians, the CD’s nine tracks contain over 70 minutes of Redemption’s unique blend of passion, melody, aggression, and complexity.

Los Angeles-based Redemption is helmed by Nick van Dyk (guitars, keyboards), and includes renowned prog vocalist Ray Alder (Fates Warning, Engine), bassist Sean Andrews, and drummer Chris Quirarte, as well as guitarist Bernie Versailles, who is presently on an indefinite medical leave of absence from the band.

The band recruited several of the finest guitarists in metal to complement van Dyk’s playing. “We’re fortunate to have worked with a number of amazing musicians,” begins van Dyk. “To start with, I’m extremely proud to announce that Chris Poland has lent his immense talent as a special guest on this record, contributing his unique playing on the majority of the songs and elevating our music into extremely interesting territory while calling to mind his work in his previous bands, who need not be named. Additionally, we are fortunate enough to have mind-blowing guest performances from Marty Friedman, Chris Broderick, and Simone Mularoni, all of whom are amazing guitarists who add so much to this record.”

In a remarkable and compelling first, the high-octane track “Thirty Silver” features Poland, Friedman, and Broderick in the same song — something that will be a special treat for fans of these world-class players.

In addition, Redemption’s cover of The Who’s classic “Love Reign O’er Me” features a vocal duet between Alder and guest vocalist John Bush. “The combination of Ray’s rich melodic voice and John’s go-for-broke passion on this track really makes it special,” explains van Dyk. “Daltrey’s performance on the original is one of the most iconic vocal performances in the history of rock music and John does it great justice.”

In addition to the nine tracks featured on the US release, bonus editions will be released in Europe and Japan, each featuring alternate versions of selected songs that highlight the guitar performances of Poland, Friedman, Broderick, and Mularoni. In addition, the European release will include an additional cover song (A Great Big World’s “Say Something”) which features a vocal duet between Alder and van Dyk’s daughter Parker, who makes her recording debut after having been the subject of several of Redemption’s songs over the years.

The CD was mixed at Jailhouse Studios in Denmark by veteran producer Tommy Hansen (Helloween, Pagan’s Mind, Pretty Maids, etc.) who also worked with Redemption on 2009’s SNOWFALL ON JUDGMENT DAY. The artwork — the band’s most extensive to date — was again created by long-time Redemption collaborator Travis Smith.

Redemption – THE ART OF LOSS track listing:
1. The Art Of Loss
2. Slouching Towards Bethlehem
3. Damaged
4. Hope Dies Last
5. That Golden Light
6. Thirty Silver
7. The Center Of The Fire
8. Love Reign O’er Me

-Queen’s A NIGHT AT THE ODEON To Be Released On November 20th

[Note: I swiped this off of YouTube. – Tim]

Pre-order now – https://queen.lnk.to/ANATO

December 24, 1975. London’s Hammersmith Odeon. Onstage at this legendary venue, the four members of Queen are bringing to a close a ground-breaking show, transmitted live on BBC TV, and also bringing to a climax the most eventful and exciting year in their careers so far — one that has taken them from the UK to America to Japan, sealing their transition from ambitious upstarts into one of the biggest and most important bands of the era — and beyond.

Forty years later, this groundbreaking show officially takes to the World Stage. On November 20, Queen – A NIGHT AT THE ODEON – HAMMERSMITH 1975 is released on CD, DVD, SD Blu-Ray, 2 LP vinyl, Super Deluxe Box Set, and digitally through Virgin EMI. As well as a live recording of this legendary gig, the packages also include extra-special bonus features for the Queen fans. Featuring 15 tracks from their first four visionary albums, plus covers of four classic rock’n’roll staples delivered with characteristic panache, A NIGHT AT THE ODEON – HAMMERSMITH 1975 captures a band in full flight and radiating megawatts of self-confidence.

Their latest single “Bohemian Rhapsody” — universally hailed as one of the most ground-breaking ‘pop’ songs ever released — was in the middle of its record-breaking nine week run at Number One in the UK charts. Their fourth album, A NIGHT AT THE OPERA (the most expensive record ever made to that point) found Queen’s grandiose vision coalescing into a breathtaking set of songs and ushered the band into a seat at rock’s top table (just three days after the concert, A NIGHT AT THE OPERA reached the top of the UK album charts).

The Christmas Eve show was the climax of the 26-date “Queen Invite You To A Night At The Opera Tour,” which had begun mid-November and had already seen the band play four nights at the same venue a month earlier. Melody Maker magazine had trumpeted the tour with the words “Britain’s most regal band await your presence,” and the reviews of the previous shows had been ecstatic. By the time the band returned to Hammersmith on Christmas Eve, they were truly firing on all cylinders. No expense had been spared, from the stellar light show which lent a spectacular visual element to the night’s proceedings to the suitably lavish white Bechstein grand piano which had been hired especially for this show. Nor had the band themselves overlooked the finer sartorial details. Freddie Mercury sported two different satin cat suits — one black one white — during the show, designed by Wendy deSmet with the singer’s input. Similarly, Freddie had painted the nails of his left hand black for the occasion, while Brian May had his (at the time) trademark white nails.

But for all the stage dressing, every Queen concert was purely and simply about the performance — and this was no exception. Cherry-picked from QUEEN, QUEEN II, SHEER HEART ATTACK, and the triumphant A NIGHT AT THE OPERA, the set list showed every facet of the band, from the ornate hard rock of “Keep Yourself Alive” and “Seven Seas Of Rhye” to the baroque grandeur of “The March Of The Black Queen,” from the heavy metal strut of “Ogre Battle” and “Son And Daughter” to the playful genre-bending of “Bring Back That Leroy Brown” and Queen’s breakthrough hit “Killer Queen.” It was also the tour when they first unleashed the soon-to-be-legendary “Bohemian Rhapsody” on an unsuspecting public — to a rapturous reception.

With the issue of A NIGHT AT THE ODEON this legendary show has finally been given the pedestal it deserves, delivered in fitting style, featuring an incredible new audio mix in stereo and 5.1 surround-sound plus an absolute state-of-the-art restoration of the video. As well as audio and visual footage of the gig, the DVD and SD Blu-Ray versions feature two special bonus features — “Looking Back At The Odeon,” a brand new 22-minute documentary featuring a previously unseen interview with Brian May and Roger Taylor by Old Grey Whistle Test presenter Bob Harris about the 1975 Hammersmith Odeon show, plus the rarely seen “Live At The Budokan – Japan 1975” footage, featuring three songs (“Now I’m Here,” “Killer Queen,” and “In The Lap Of The Gods… Revisited”) recorded during their legendary tour of the Far East. The Super Deluxe Boxed Set also includes a never-before-heard recording from the pre-show soundcheck — something that no one outside of the band themselves knew existed until now.

A NIGHT AT THE ODEON – HAMMERSMITH 1975 is released on the following formats:

-RAM Premieres “The Usurper” Online; SVBVERSVM Out October 30th Via Metal Blade!

[Note: This combines two separate releases. – Tim]

“Heavy Metal Tyranny, Bang Your Head Or Lose It, Death To All Who Oppose Us.” — RAM

Swedish heavy metal defenders (of the faith), RAM, are ready to unleash their latest batch of fist-pumping, molten metal anthems upon the masses in the form of SVBVERSVM.

Brimming with raging hymns of death, post-apocalyptic dominance, and total devastation through iron, the band’s fourth studio offering was self-produced at Black Path Studios, mixed at Welfare Sounds by Olle Björk, Per Stälberg, and RAM, mastered by Daniel Johansson, and will be unveiled on October 30th via Metal Blade Records worldwide. In Europe, the record will come available as a limited CD/DVD digi-pak, as well as on CD and vinyl.

As a precursor to its release, Heavy Blog Is Heavy and Germany’s Deaf Forever magazine hurl forth the fire ‘n’ brimstone enormity of “The Usurper,” with Heavy Blog Is Heavy issuing of the track, “Swedish headbangers RAM are keeping the dream alive for those clamoring for a modern take on the powerful ’80s metal scene that propelled legends Judas Priest, Dio, and Iron Maiden into the spotlight.”

Heavy Blog Is Heavy

Deaf Forever

You can still listen to the first single “Eyes Of The Night” at http://www.metalblade.com/ram . Make sure to check out the pre-order section where you can also order a bundle with an exclusively designed T-shirt!

Comments RAM on their latest offering, “This album is the rebirth of RAM and a natural step to take after DEATH. For this album, we went back and rediscovered the mass of notes, lyrical ideas, and sketches that were created at the very birth of RAM, from around 1999-2001. We saw that these ideas were more valid than ever and still very inspiring. We are very pleased with the album that is the product of four months of being locked up in the studio and offering our very last drop of sweat and blood for it to become the most massive RAM production ever. This is our latest assault upon the rotting world, may it be a dagger in the heart of the powers that may be! SVBVERSVM is at hand!”

The release date of the Chastain album SURRENDER TO NO ONE on Vinyl is November 27th, 2015. The pre-order phase will start on November 13th, 2015 in the Pure Steel webshop:

Chastain, helped drive double bass hymns such as “Stand And Fight” and “Freedom Within.” Despite a modern, rich production, the release stands with the band’s classics from the second half of the ’80s.

-Necromancing The Stone Signs To Metal Blade Records!

Metal Blade Records is proud to announce the signing of Necromancing The Stone! Featuring former and current members of Arsis, The Absence, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Brimstone Coven, Necromancing The Stone may be considered a “super-group” or “studio project” by some, but that is not the intent of this quintet. Upon unleashing their upcoming debut full-length in 2016 via Metal Blade, the band plans to take their unique brand of no-nonsense, traditional heavy metal out on the road.

Necromancing The Stone’s Jeramie Kling (drums) comments: “It’s an honor to be a part of the Metal Blade family. Together, we have crafted a release that will not only destroy an entire seaboard village by way of force, but also soothe that very hoard into a capricious trance. We have finalized the recording process and have sent our offering to the mighty James Murphy. Cannot wait to get this released and see all of you maniacs out there on the road!”

Justin Wood (guitars) adds: “Necromancing The Stone is something that we are all excited to be a part of as it gives us a creative outlet to create the kind of hook-laden, riff-centric heavy metal that we want to hear more of in the world. Justin Wood and John Williams (Brimstone Coven), along with James Malone (Arsis), Ryan Williams (ex-The Black Dahlia Murder), and Jeramie Kling (The Absence, 456 other bands) swore their solemn allegiance to the cause with a blood sacrifice upon the peak of Ogre’s Rock in a secret ritual veiled in danger and mystery in the summer of 2014 and came together for the recording of an online EP BEFORE THE DEVIL KNOWS YOU ARE DEAD. The time has now come to batten down the hatches and set forth into the world with a purpose in our hearts and a sword in our hands. We aim to leave no stone unturned and hope to see you all out there with us blazing a path of blood and riffs.”

For a preview of what’s to come, fans can stream and purchase Necromancing The Stone’s 3-track EP, BEFORE THE DEVIL KNOWS YOU ARE DEAD, now on Bandcamp: http://necromancingthestone.bandcamp.com/ . Released in summer 2014 and mixed by Peter Tagtgren (Hypocrisy, PAIN, etc.), BEFORE THE DEVIL KNOWS YOU ARE DEAD will be re-recorded and included on the band’s currently untitled album. Stay tuned for more news about this release coming soon!

Necromancing The Stone:
“Big” John Williams – vocals
James Malone – guitars
Justin Wood – guitars
Ryan Williams – bass

-The New Black Team Up With Producer Jacob Hansen For New Album; Start Crowdfunding Campaign!

German Heavy Rockers The New Black are currently working hard on their fourth album with Danish producer Jacob Hansen of Volbeat fame. The album will be released on February 26th, 2016 via AFM Records and is being recorded in the band’s hometown of Würzburg, Germany at Jam Productions Studio.

Jacob Hansen had previously mixed and mastered the band’s last self-produced effort III: CUT LOOSE (2013). He comments: “Watching the guys live, I saw some extra excitement that I’d love to capture on an album. There’s a lot of cool music cooking in this band, and I’m looking forward to making it as good as we can.”

Says the band: “We loved what Jacob did for the sound of last album. He’s a cool guy, too, so we wanted him on board as the producer from start to finish to really dig into the songs together. We had reached a limit with doing everything ourselves, we need to make the next step to avoid repeating ourselves. And it all sounds so far like we achieved that next step. We have never worked on new material that intensively, mercilessly and enjoyably.”

The New Black ask any friends, sympathizers, and well-wishers to have a look at their crowdfunding campaign at PledgeMusic. Here the fans can pre-order new music and get their hands on cool exclusives goodies like checking out the band at their rehearsal dungeon, get their portrait drawn by singer Fludid, and becoming the official Beertech at one of their shows, not to mention a lot of behind-the-scenes-stuff.

The band’s campaign can be found here:

See a video here:

The five musicians are also grateful for being supported by the Wacken Foundation with a temporary loan to help cover the cost.

The New Black entered the studio freshly energized from a stint on the road with Zakk Wylde’s Black Label Society where they premiered new tracks “Send In The Clowns” and the title track “Godzilla With A Grin.” Pics from the studio can be found on the band’s homepage, Facebook presence, and other social media outlets.

Germany’s The New Black so far have released three self-produced albums so far and were fortunate to have played shows with AC/DC, Black Label Society, Volbeat, and Alter Bridge, among others.

-Prog Metal Super-Group Zierler Premiere “No Chorus” Lyric Video Through Revolver

NEW YORK, NY — Transatlantic progression metal conglomerate Zierler, featuring members of Beyond Twilight, Fates Warning, Scar Symmetry, and Circus Maximus, have released a lyric video for the song “No Chorus,” the first single off the band’s long-awaited debut album, ESC, out October 16 via US-based Vanity Music Group. The track is exclusively streamed by Revolver magazine at this location:

“‘No Chorus’ is about breaking norms and conventions. Whether it’s approaching music, song structures, life, culture, or solving problems in new innovative ways. Articulating a point of view in relation to a particular situation in ways we had never thought of before. Most of all, it’s about encouraging people to foster the ability to look at things differently from the way we typically look at them,” explains mastermind/keyboardist Finn Zierler the inspiration behind the song.

“The track itself is written without a chorus. The line, ‘I’m so sick of verse, bridge, and chorus’ expresses the sentiment at the core of it all. Writing a song without a chorus and making it work as a song is hard. Writing a song without a chorus and making it work so that the listener doesn’t notice is really hard! ‘No Chorus’ seemed like a fitting title as the line, ‘this song has no chorus’ actually takes on the role of the chorus although the song lacks a traditional chorus. Music nerds won’t be disappointed.”

His first new album in a decade, ESC is Finn Zierler’s most mature as well as his most daring musical work to date. Drawing from a wide array of influences that bring to mind everything from the unabashed pomp of classic Queen and the madness of Devin Townsend, to the virtuosity of Dream Theater and the eclectic stylings of Hollywood wizard Danny Elfman, Zierler masterfully walk the fine line between genius and insanity, combining a powerful, multi-layered progressive metal foundation with an often dark, majestic orchestral feel. The result is an intricate musical tour-de-force that took the better part of two years to complete.

Joining Finn on ESC are Swedish guitarist Per Nilsson (Scar Symmetry, Kaipa) — the first to come aboard — and Norwegian bassist/vocalist Truls Haugen (Insense, Circus Maximus) on the Scandinavian side. Finn also reached out across the pond to a pair of Texas standouts, drum veteran Bobby Jarzombek, whose stellar resume includes the likes of Fates Warning, Halford, Riot, and Spastic Ink, and vocal powerhouse Kelly Sundown Carpenter, who sang on Beyond Twilight’s 2005 album, SECTION X, and was last seen with Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Gus G’s band, Firewind, as well as Darkology.

The album’s stellar mix comes courtesy of another Beyond Twilight alum and long-time friend, noted studio whiz Jacob Hansen, best known for his affiliation with Danish superstars Volbeat as well as his work with Amaranthe and Destruction amongst others. Last but not least, acclaimed London-based graphic artist Rob Sindermann has been tapped to create the stunning visuals for the ESC album packaging which includes an elaborate 28-page deluxe booklet.

ESC track listing:

1. A New Beginning
2. Aggrezzor
3. Darkness Delight
4. Dark To The Bone
5. Evil Spirit
6. Married To The Cause
7. No Chorus
8. Rainheart
9. You Can’t Fix Me No More

ARTWORK: Markus Vesper

Following the brand new signing of Starblind with Pure Steel Records in March 2015, Starblind’s sophomore album DYING SON is soon to be unleashed upon the world, following up their album debut DARKEST HORRORS from 2014. Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, Starblind are here to deliver traditional Heavy Metal as if time had stood still since 1984.

Their music can be described as catchy Heavy Metal with majestic twin guitar leads, pumping bass guitar, dynamic drums, and melodic, powerful vocals. No attempts have been made to hide the influences when writing the material to DYING SON. And it stands clear that the metal giants from Great Britain are the main ones.

DYING SON contains everything from fast songs like “The Lighthouse” and “A Dying Son,” to mid-tempo “Firestone” and “Sacrifice,” to the 11½-minute opus “The Land Of Seven Rivers Beyond the Sea.”

Starblind’s sophomore album DYING SON was recorded live in the studio and is produced by Rocka Rollas/Blazon Stone mastermind Cedrick Forsberg. Because of the philosophy of no guitar dubbing, no triggers, and no metronome when recording, the album has a very authentic and organic feel. What you get on the album, is what you get live!

To the fans of ’80s metal and of the “New Wave of Traditional Heavy Metal,” this is a record you cannot miss!

-Night Viper Set Release Date For New SVART Album, Premiere First Track

Today, Svart Records sets December 4th as the international release date for Night Viper’s self-titled debut album. Night Viper are a hot-rockin’ heavy metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden. The first two ingredients in the Viper pie were Sofie Lee Johansson and Tom Sutton (Horisont, The Order Of Israfel, ex-Church Of Misery). As soon as they met, the chemistry started flying and some pure fist-banging heavy metal demos were thrown down. They were joined briefly by Sven Nilsson from Antichrist on drums as well as a few others on guitar and bass, but it was once swing master Jonna Karlsson was behind the kit that things started really moving. The folk-tastic stylings of Emil Ridderstolpe on guitar and the fast fingers of Ruben Åhlander Persson (Miasmal) on bass completed the lineup. They played their first show in Summer 2014, and since then have played at Heavy Days In Doomtown, Muskelrock and Geggan festivals to great success, along with gigs throughout Sweden. October marks their first European tour, with shows in Germany, Denmark, and The Czech Republic with good friends Demon Head. They have released a single through Svart Records, and are again working with the label for the release of NIGHT VIPER, set to be released on CD, LP, and digital formats. Plans are already underway for European tours and festival appearances throughout 2016, but in the meantime, the band are sharing the new track “The Wolverine” as part of the Metal Riot Halloween compilation Creature Honeymoon here:

“We love it,” says guitarist Tom Sutton of NIGHT VIPER. “We recorded all the basic tracks live together, and I think you can really hear the excitement in the room. It’s very organic-sounding, and will remind people of the heavy metal classics they love, while still being very current and very unique. It’s not a tribute to any era in any way. There’s elements of KILL ‘EM ALL-era Metallica, Judas Priest, Entombed, and the more metal side of Motörhead, along with some Pentagram or Coven-type spookiness. This is just a pure and honest representation of how we sound. Each song really has its own personality, and the melodies are super-catchy. The differences in style and influences between the two guitarists, Emil and I, give the album a lot of texture, I think. If there’s a solo that sounds like cat with its tail on fire, that’s me, and if there’s something with a beautiful twirling melody to it, that’s probably Emil. Ruben sounds totally thumping on bass, and Jonna plays with a swing that isn’t heard in metal much these days. And for those who haven’t heard Sofie Lee sing yet, you really are in for a treat. We can’t wait for people to hear it. There will be bangovers!”

Track listing for Night Viper’s NIGHT VIPER:
1. Night Viper
2. The Hammer
3. Curse Of A Thousand Deaths
4. Run For Cover
5. Warrior Woman
6. Faces In The Mirror
7. Never Be Enslaved
8. Dagger In Hand
9. The Wolverine

-Divebomb Records: Holosade HELL HOUSE Deluxe Edition CD Coming October 30th

HELL HOUSE (Deluxe Edition)

Holosade hail from Darlington in the North East of the UK which was also home to such revered acts as Venom, Raven, Atomkraft, and Warfare. Unlike many of the above, it took Holosade quite a while to emerge as a unit. The band began, in 1985, as a thought in the head of Phillip de Sade (vocals), but the right lineup was a long time in the making and it wasn’t until 1986 that the lineup was confident or stable enough to find its own style and really push itself through the demo LOVE IT TO DEATH. Although not the band’s first, it was by far the best, and ultimately led to their signing with Powerstation Records (Tokyo Blade, Chrome Molly), especially when the demo was coupled with the tremendous live effect the band were having where ever they appeared.

Originally intended to be an EP, HELL HOUSE was released in 1988 as a full-length based on the label’s confidence that Holosade had a surefire formula to success which combined a gritty mixture of Anthrax and Di’anno-era Iron Maiden. Holosade delivered little in the way of sophistication and refinement, but they were a raucous quintet full of honest under-arm sweaty stains and intrinsically British. It wasn’t long after the release of HELL HOUSE that the plague of lineup changes resumed and Holosade slowly fell apart with some members departing to such notable UK acts Sabbat and Little Angels.

Despite Holosade’s flirtation with the spotlight, Divebomb Records is excited to present HELL HOUSE in this special deluxe edition reissue. The 20-page booklet contains band-supplied photos, archival magazine features, and full album lyrics. This edition also contains six bonus tracks, four of which are from a previous unreleased BBC 1 Rock Show Session. This is a reissue for the fans, by the fans.

Martin Barre will be headlining his first solo tour of the States, starting this November as he is playing Cruise To The Edge November 15-19 with Yes, Marillion, Spock’s Beard, Enchant, and rising prog guitarist Randy McStine. (In 2004, Martin co-billed in the United States with Willie Porter, whom he met when Porter opened for Jethro Tull in 2003.)

After Cruise To The Edge, Martin starts his solo date in Del Ray, Florida at the Arts Center on November 21, which is almost sold out. The tour moves up the east coast through Fayette, AL; Tupelo, MS; Jackson, MS, Shreveport, LA; Atlanta, GA; Asheville, NC; Vienna, VA; Rocky Mount, VA; Sellersville, PA; Binghamton, PA; Cleveland, OH; Rochester, NY; New York City, and other TBA shows.

For the past four years Martin has toured the world with his own band to play the “classic” music from the Jethro Tull catalog, but also many new tracks written by Martin including his new album, BACK TO STEEL (plus his two recent solo albums MARTIN BARRE and AWAY WITH WORDS).

For 43 years Martin Barre was the renowned guitarist of Jethro Tull, and his role in the band cannot be overestimated. Bruce Eder wrote on allmusic.com, “His playing has provided much of the energy that allows the band to soar on record and in concert.”

His unique sound and style contributed enormously to their success, which includes several chart-topping albums, 11 gold and five platinum albums, a Grammy Award for CREST OF A KNAVE in 1988, and album sales exceeding 60 million units. Tull continues to be played worldwide, representing an important part of classic rock history.

Martin’s guitar playing has earned him respect and recognition; he’s been voted among the best ever in the USA and in the UK for his playing on “Aqualung.” Beyond numerous Jethro Tull albums, Martin has plied those award-winning chops with many other distinguished artists, including Paul McCartney, Phil Collins, Gary Moore, Joe Bonamassa, and Chris Thompson. He has shared a stage with such legends as Jimi Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin.

Redoubtable drummer George Lindsay, alongside super song writer and bass player Alan Thomson form the core of Martin’s accomplished band, with vocals performed by the talented and distinctive Dan Crisp. All members are committed to giving the Tull fans and a broader audience the chance to hear tracks not performed for many years with a few surprises along the way.

-Ghoul Releases New Song for “The Humans” Comic Book Soundtrack

“We were really stoked on a comic about violent, motorcycle-riding monkeys. They throw their poo, just like us!” — Cremator, Ghoul

Ghoul has released a new song for the ongoing soundtrack to Image Comics’ “The Humans” graphic novel series. The song is available online from “The Humans” Soundcloud page:

“The Humans” comic, by Keenan Marshall Keller and Tom Neely, is set in the ’70s and follows a motorcycle gang’s exploits, but with a twist; in this world, the gangs are all apes and actual humans are primitive beasts kept around for sport. Each issue of “The Humans” is accompanied by two original songs released online from bands such as Goblin Cock and Witches Of God. Ghoul’s song, “Humans Till Deth,” is an octane-fueled surf-thrash tune attached to the release of issue #8, out now.

To celebrate the release, Ghoul has also released a promotional video for the song, available for viewing on their Facebook page.

Says Ghoul bassist Cremator, “We were really stoked on a comic about violent, motorcycle-riding monkeys. They throw their poo, just like us!” Ghoul front man Digestor added, “Ghoul has been busy writing new material, so the timing was just right. We recorded for the first time at Antisleep Studios and their wax cylinders are of the highest quality. The next album will actually and literally murder you.”

Ghoul will be recording a follow-up to their 2011 LP, TRANSMISSION ZERO, for Tankcrimes Records in December of this year.

-Peace Killers Set Release Date For Svart, Reveal Teaser Video

Today, Svart Records sets January 22nd, 2016 as the international release date for Peace Killers’ self-titled debut album, to be released on vinyl, CD, and digital formats. Svart signed Peace Killers to a deal in 2014, and the Sacramento-based band recorded PEACE KILLERS in the summer of 2014 at Earth Tone Studios ( http://www.earthtonesacramento.com/ ) with the help of local record producer Pat Hills, a force in Sacramento’s strong and proud local music scene.

Over the years, Sacramento has produced a diverse array of bands including Deftones, Will Haven, Far, Cake, Death Grips, Trash Talk, CHRCH, Battle Hag, and Bog Oak, among many others. Peace Killers are excited and proud to follow in the footsteps of these great bands, of which more can be read here:

The members of Peace Killers make up a combined 40 years of experience in the Northern California punk and hardcore scenes. The style of writing is swift, intuitive, and improvisational. -Philip H. Anselmo’s Housecore Horror Festival Announces Official Film Lineup + Second Stage Bands Confirmed

In just a little over a month, Philip H. Anselmo’s Housecore Horror Fest will terrorize San Antonio. Now in its third year of audio and visual pandemonium, this year’s multi-stage gore gala will take place at the Aztec Theater, The Korova, and the Holiday Inn Riverwalk Hotel on November 13th – 15th, 2015 and features three film-screening rooms, multiple vendors, special artist signings, and the return of The Metal Masters And Horror panel with special appearances from performing bands and legendary filmmakers throughout the weekend, as well as what’s mutated into one of the most punishing live lineups of the year!

For the onscreen carnage cravers, this year’s edition of HHF includes 80 eye-gouging film screenings throughout the weekend. Having sifted through a record-breaking amount of independent film submissions, the Housecore Horror Fest plague-bringers narrowed it down to 45 gems from filmmakers around the globe, including Israel, Brazil, Poland, Spain, Canada, Denmark, and more. Anselmo added to the banquet of visual grotesqueries, reaching deep into his personal vault of repulsions to bring fest goers a variety of personal horror favorites including “Cannibal Man,” “Don’t Torture A Duckling,” and “Baba Yaga.”

Housecore Horror Fest III will also include special guest appearances by Gwar’s Don Drakulich a.k.a. “Sleazy P. Martini” who will host a special screening of “Skulhedface” and a secret bonus film that Gwar fans won’t want to miss. Other bonuses include a onetime screening of cult classic, “Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things” with original cast members Alan Ormsby and Anya Cronin in attendance, a premiere of a never-before-seen short film from Coffin Joe, the world premiere of the controversial, gore-tastic “American Guinea Pig: Bloodshock,” a special director’s cut of zombie-Viking-black metal-biker film, “Saga,” starring Ted Skelljum of black metal icons Darkthrone and an appearance by iconic bodybuilding champion/actor/song writer/screen writer/musician, Jon Mikl Thor, who will be screening his new documentary followed by a performance on The Korova stage. Additional special guests include comedian Dave Hill from the Metal Grasshopper films, “Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2” star Bill Moseley, and more!

Comments Anselmo of the upcoming festivities, “This may be our strongest film lineup yet. I can’t wait for people to come and have their minds blown! We’re screening some crazy sh*t this year. And obviously we’re showing [late Housecore Horror Fest co-founder] Corey [Mitchell]’s favorite movie as a tribute to him, ‘Henry, Portrait Of A Serial Killer.’ We’re also trying out a VHS swap meet this year, which I’m looking forward to. And we’re bringing back our late-night VHS Vomitorium, which will screen obscure VHS gems.”

Easily its most maniacal bill yet, this year’s music lineup includes King Diamond performing 1987 quintessential second full-length, ABIGAIL, in its harrowing entirety, Agoraphobic Nosebleed playing their second show ever, Corrosion Of Conformity featuring Pepper Keenan, Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin doing a live score of George Romero’s “Dawn Of The Dead,” Superjoint, Eyehategod, Nails, Crowbar, Dropdead, Autopsy, Poison Idea, Exodus, and so many more.

Recently added second stage at The Korova, located just steps away from the Aztec Theater, will play host to the likes of Aggravator, Big Okie Doom, Black Breath, Black Moriah, Bloodf*ckers, Butcher, Classhole, Delta Doom, Disfigured, Fang, Fat Stupid Ugly People, Hellknife, Hellshock, Honky, Idolatry, Kill It Again, Krigblast, Los Revolucinarios, Mountain Of Wizard, Ossacrux, Protest, The Unnaturals, Valdur, and War Master!
