-Evergrey Signs With AFM Records!

AFM Records proudly announces the signing of Swedish metallers Evergrey. The band, led by front man Tom S. Englund, is one of the most unique, significant and influential to emerge in the last two decades.

Currently Evergrey are working on a brand new studio album which will be released later this year. Fans can look forward to an eventful Evergrey year 2014.

January 27th, Division Two Studios, Sweden

“I am sitting here in what feels like the black heart of distorted guitars and heavy drums trying to sort what material to be chosen for the new Evergrey album that will be brought to you by our new record label AFM!

“While the music might be the most contemplated and dark pieces we have written — and while the sheer amount of music we have the pleasure to choose from is more than ever — we are super psyched and pleased to have chosen a label that believes in Evergrey!

“AFM are certain that we have a lot more to contribute to the world of music and we can promise you that they are right. On top of that it is about damn time that our fans get some new and fresh metal!

“While we at this moment are hindered to speak about the new members — this will be totally understandable when we announce it — they are known to some people and some might never have heard of them B U T we can tell you that they are as excited as the rest of us and have already brought in 50% of the material written so this album will be a 100% band effort!

“We will release two singles, one complemented with a video produced by our bud Patric Ullaeus and Revolver.se.

“We will also film our every step of the recording process for you to enjoy at a continuous and steady pace on our different social media channels making this the most accessible album we have made to date. We will also arrange interviews with each and every member during the recording process together with some really cool ideas for the booklet of the CD itself — more on this soon!

“The album will be recorded in a few different studios and mixed in Denmark at Hansen studios by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Amaranthe, Epysode, Pretty Maids, Doro, and more).

“We are currently planning some cool release shows for different territories and honestly can’t wait for YOU to hear our music, as we are thrilled, more than pleased, and stoked with what we come up with!

“And oh, yeah, the title is also set and will be revealed soon!

“Watch out for A LOT more from us!

“Tom, Rikard, Johan, ——– and ——-”

-Týr Debut “The Lay Of Our Love” Video Clip At RevolverMag.com!

Týr has unveiled their latest music video, “The Lay Of Our Love,” from their most recent album, VALKYRJA. The song features a vocal duet with Leaves’ Eyes vocalist Liv Kristine. So, naturally, fans will be excited to see that Kristine joins Heri Joensen and the rest of Týr in this new video! The video was produced by Stanimir Lukic, directed by Ivan Colic, and can be seen now exclusively at RevolverMag.com here:

Týr comments on “The Lay Of Our Love:” “We’ve wanted to make a CGI video for a long time, and this is our first one, so we’re obviously excited for the release and reception of the video. On top of that, the presence of Liv in the video makes it even more special. All in all we’re very pleased with the result.”

Týr will be joining Children Of Bodom on their “Halo Of Blood Over North America” tour in early 2014. The tour will embark on February 14 in Quebec City and wraps up on March 28 and 29 with back-to-back shows at Irving Plaza in New York, NY. Additional supporting acts are TBA with announcements coming soon. Tickets and premium packages are available now exclusively at SHOWstubs.com.

Týr performed live on August 10 as part of the Faroe Island’s Summarfestivalurin in Klaksvik. Over 8,000 Faroese were in attendance as the band put on a huge set featuring old favorites, as well as new tracks, including “Blood Of Heroes.” The event was filmed and a video for “Blood Of Heroes” can be seen now at http://www.metalblade.com/tyr .

VALKYRJA debuted on charts worldwide upon release in September of 2013. In the US, the album reached #15 on the Billboard Heatseeker’s Chart, #22 on Current Hard Music, #39 on Overall Hard Music, and #70 on the Independent albums chart! On iTunes on day of release, VALKYRJA reached #4 on the metal chart. In Europe, the album entered at #45 on German Top 100 Album Charts, and #76 on Switzerland’s charts. And in Canada, the record reached #26 on the Metal chart. On iTunes Canada, the record peaked at #2 on the metal chart, #9 on the rock chart, and #73 on the top 200 albums chart!

The concept behind VALKYRJA involves a story based around a nameless, Viking-era warrior, who leaves his woman and goes off to impress the Valkyrie on the battlefield so that she may bring him to Valhalla, or to Fólkvangr, the home of Freyja — the goddess associated with love, sexuality, beauty, fertility, gold, sorcery, war, and death. One can say the album is also indirectly about women and how they affect men and what men will do to impress and obtain women. Front man and founder Heri Joensen goes on to explain; “the woman that the warrior leaves may represent the earthly women. Freyja, The Lady Of The Slain, may represent the perfection of Women, and the Valkyrie is the link between the two, taking men from earthly to godly women.”

Order your copy of VALKYRJA at http://www.metalblade.com/tyr .

-Furyon Begins Recording New Album

British rockers Furyon will return to Black Dog Sound Studios in Atlanta, US to record their sophomore yet-untitled studio album. Once again, the album will be engineered and produced by US producer Rick Beato (Shinedown, Fozzy) and his team.

Singer Matt Mitchell says: “We’ve worked real hard behind the scenes to make this possible. There were moments I wasn’t sure it would happen but it is, and there are some killer tunes!”

After the success of thrilling debut GRAVITAS that UK’s Metal Hammer magazine promoted and covered so well, the band have a new batch of finely tuned writings. What’s to be expected is more of the same explosive guitar riffs and solos in well crafted song form. Expressive vocal delivery and melodies to scream along to. A possibly darker album still with progressive elements and a grungy edge. The album aims to be a 10-song album with additions (acoustic tracks and videos). Furyon are extremely excited and looking forward to sharing the outcome of this venture with the World.

Furyon are:
Matt Mitchell – Vocals
Chris Green – Guitars
Alex “Nickel” Bowen – Bass
Lee Farmery – Drums

Furyon recently confirmed to play Hungary’s MetalWar Festival 2014 ( https://www.facebook.com/MetalWarFest ), which takes place September 5th – 7th in Budapest and Belgium’s Power, Prog & Metal Festival 2014 ( https://www.facebook.com/Power.Prog.and.Metal.Festival ), which takes place April 18th – 20th in Mons. Other bands confirmed include: Pain, In Extremo, Therion, Finntroll, My Dying Bride, Amorphis, Fates Warning, Masterplam, Exorcism, Fatal Smile, and Pagan’s Mind to name only a few.

Furyon is a band from the UK who like nothing more than to challenge expectations. Raised on a diet of heavy metal, prog, and classic rock. Furyon mix all these components for a truly unique and contemporary sound. Delivering huge rock-radio-friendly songs, with technically-challenging-yet-infectiously-catchy musicianship, they are dedicated to one sole purpose: making hard-hitting songs that will stand the test of time.

-Members Of Pagan’s Mind, Theocracy, Darkwater, And End Of September Contribute To Charity Track For Homeless Relief

Ulterium Records is proud to announce the release of “Collide & Spark,” an all-star charity track for sale with 100% of the income going to The Bridge Bunch, an organization dedicated to serving the homeless population of Nashville, TN, in the United States.

The song, which is almost seven minutes in length, is being released under the banner Project Aegis, and was composed by Theocracy vocalist and songwriter Matt Smith. It features vocals by Nils K. Rue [Pagan’s Mind], Henrik Båth [Darkwater], Elin Redin [End Of September] and Smith, as well as a guitar solo by Markus Sigfridsson [Darkwater, Harmony].

The artwork was created by Felipe Machado Franco [Blind Guardian, Rhapsody Of Fire] and designed by Markus Sigfridsson.

“This is such a cool opportunity to help make a difference in a small way,” says Smith. “Ninety-nine cents can go a long way toward giving someone a hot meal or a sleeping bag, especially now, in the heart of winter. Everyone associated with The Bridge Bunch works nonstop to serve the large number of people struggling in the Nashville area, and every penny of this goes to that very worthy cause. And the caliber of talent on this track makes it something truly special indeed!”

-The New Black Release Video For “Any Colour You Like (As Long As It’s Black)”

Germany’s heavy rockers The New Black filmed a third video for a song from their album III: CUT LOOSE. The clip to “Any Colour You Like (As Long As It’s Black)” can be found here:

Comments the band: “‘The glass half empty, and filled with piss…’ Ah, well. It all looks pretty normal at first. But there is something dark lurking at the edges. Unnoticed, decay sets in, and the blackness might be closer than you think. But then again life goes on. As does the music. And the fart jokes.

“‘Any Colour’ is not exactly a song about peace, love and good happiness stuff. But fun to play live. Like fart jokes, pretty much. Enjoy, comment and — this actually important — please spread around.”

The clip was once more directed by The New Black’s Fludid. No spiders, cockroaches, worms, or musicians were harmed during the filming. All pyro scenes, car chases, and naked dancers had to be omitted due at the last minute.

The New Black will embark on the “Out Of The Box Tour” with label mates Dark Age in February. The current schedule reads as follows:

-Sister Premieres New Video For Track “My Enemy” Off Brand New Album DISGUISED VULTURES!

Swedish punk/metal act Sister, whose new album DISGUISED VULTURES just dropped on January 24 in Europe, has teamed up with Revolver Magazine to premiere the music video for the track “My Enemy.” Check out the new video produced by Jimmy Johansson on Revolver Magazine HERE!

Fans can listen to the first single, “Sick,” watch videos, and order DISGUISED VULTURES at http://www.metalblade.com/sister .

Sister drummer/backing vocalist Cari comments on the track “My Enemy” used for the new video: “‘My Enemy’ is a trip through a chaos filled mind. The lyrics speak about personal feelings on the ups and downs in life and also about what the world has become today. As the opener for the album this song goes out 110% from the start to seconds after hit the brakes and then come back with full force again. That’s pretty much how we live our lives today.”

The video’s producer Jimmy Johansson adds, “My vision with this video was to make it ‘in your face’ as much as possible, just like the song. I wanted to portrait the ugly sides of humanity such as war, murder, torture, school dances, poverty, starvation, gluttony, and so on. Hopefully we can make someone think. If the video doesn’t affect you in any way, we have failed. And if you think it’s too much, then you should just stay at home and not watch the news ever again and keep on ignoring.”

DISGUISED VULTURES emphasizes what the band is all about: heavy, raw sound and attitude. Fans will find plenty more of what Revolver Magazine described as “a genre-bending amalgam of street punk attitude and glam-inspired melodies” on this new album.

They solicited the expert guidance of Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69, Unisonic, Khymera), also the producer of Angra, Eden’s Curse, Godiva, Krokus, and countless more, including Kirk’s debut album THE FINAL DANCE, over a decade ago. -Patrick Hemer’s New Single: “The End”

Two years after his stunning first solo album (MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE – Nightmare Records), the Prog Metal shredmeister is back with a new single proving once again that he’s not only a guitar virtuoso but also a songwriter, a producer, …and a singer!

“It’s a very special song,” Patrick says, “really different from the super heavy, riff-oriented material I’m currently writing for my upcoming full-length album. ‘The End’ is more about mood and harmonies than just sheer heaviness, and its power lies more in the intensity of the feel than in the usual Metal music riff-and-drums barrage. So I thought I might as well release it as a single to stick to its unique character.”

This is also a good way to give the fans something to sink their teeth into before Patrick’s new album tentatively scheduled for the fall of 2014 and that he promises will be “100% Progressive Power Shred Metal!”

“The End” (music & lyrics: Patrick Hemer)

Produced, mixed and mastered by Patrick Hemer at Twin Figures Studio

-Montreal’s Mire Announce Release of Inward/Outward; Offer Free Download; Music Video “Limitless Pt. 2”

Rising out of Montreal, QC’s vibrant music scene, progressive rock / metal band Mire are proud to announce the official release of their debut album INWARD/OUTWARD on March 18 to follow up their 2010 self-titled EP.

Two years in the making, INWARD/OUTWARD is a 10-track reflection of ideas flying every which way around the recording studio, ranging from cognitive science to a military stint in Afghanistan by guitarist Dave Massicotte.

“We created this with our guts and have dared to explore a less common style of metal where the music is less obvious and sometimes requires the individual to have more than one listen before being able to grasp and really appreciate every musical element,” says guitarist Massicotte of the album. “From big chunky guitar to light piano melody, every song will take you on a different journey and set of emotions.”

The band has released the first music video “Limitless Pt. 2” in support of the album, which can be viewed at the following link:

FREE Download – Bandcamp stream:

“‘Limitless Pt. 2’ is about waking up from your daily grind to acknowledge the mysticism of your existence. The potential of what mankind is capable of, starts in the hands of its individual subjects — it starts with you. As the title implies, Limitless is an expression of how far you should push your ambitions in all directions to fulfill your own ideal based on your individual experience.” says vocalist JP LaChapelle. “Mire celebrates diversity, because slaving to fit the mold serves another. Enough of us have been sacrificed for a semblance of freedom, and to perfect it takes mad balls. Courage to confront fear every single morning, day and night, live on the edge of your seat at all times and lean forward — goad life to ‘come at you bro.’ Developing your conscience allows you to stretch out the fiber of the NOW and analyze it. Establish objectives; try 10 times in different ways until you succeed. OWN YOUR DESTINY. That’s the passion we felt when we created ‘Limitless’ together.”

-The Socks: Psychedelic Fuzz Rock Collective Premieres New Track Via The Obelisk

Today, the riff wranglers at The Obelisk, who are celebrating their fifth year of apex underground rock coverage, offer up an exclusive premiere of “Gypsy Lady” from French psychedelic fuzz rock collective and recent Small Stone signees, The Socks!

The fiery new psalm comes by way of The Socks’ self-titled debut full-length. Slated to drop this Spring, THE SOCKS was recorded and mixed by Raphaël Cartellier at Studio Cartellier, France, mastered by Christopher Goosman (Early Man, Sasquatch, Dixie Witch, Solace et al) at Baseline Studio in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and features nine tracks of road-tripping, booze-binging goodness where thick, glassy-eyed jams swell into kaleidoscopic riff torrents, gristly vocal serenades, and hypnotic grooves.

Elaborates The Obelisk of the tune, “Vocalist/guitarist Julien Méret solos fluidly over fellow six-stringer/backing vocalist Nicolas Baud’s keyboard work as drummer Jessy Ensenat sets the march and bassist Vincent Melay runs around and through the riffs in heavy ’70s tradition. If ‘Gypsy Lady’ has anything in common with [recently leaked] ‘Some Kind Of Sorcery’ — other than being the same band on the same album, duh — it’s a righteous slowdown, this one arriving after two minutes into the track’s total five, marked out by insistent wah in the guitar and a classically doomed stomp in the rhythm section, giving way to a screaming lead and tense build back up to the original shuffle. Add to this a potent hook and I’m not sure what else one could reasonably ask of The Socks that they’re not delivering.”

Adds the band, “The atmosphere of ‘Gyspy Lady’ reminds us of a bizarre psychedelic circus, going from a progressive acceleration to one of the darkest parts we’ve done. This song is like a trip through different universes that make it a perfect representation of the album.”

The Socks are a duel-guitar French foursome formed in Lyon in 2009. Their 2010 EP, entitled SIDE A offered up five well concentrated songs from a band still finding themselves. Inspired by the teachings of Sabbath and Zeppelin, The Socks supported the release by playing with an array of national and international acts, boasting intensely energetic gigs while continuing to develop their style. The next two years drove the band to write darker, heavier songs that were more calculating and less frenetic. The resulting 2012 EP, BEDROCK spouted a pseudo psychedelic, neo-grunge moodiness that proved captivating upon first listen.

The Soda Shop dubbed it “some pretty epic f*cking stoner rock,” while Church Of The Riff opined, “The entire EP shows that The Socks know how to write damn good songs. Everything sounds fleshed out and exciting, without ever getting repetitive or redundant… The riffs, vocal harmonies, tasteful solos, and keyboard work show a band that knows exactly what they are doing.” The record eventually caught the ears of Small Stone Recordings. During the Fall of 2012, The Socks completed their first European tour. Drawing on experience garnered from festivals and gigs alongside Karma To Burn, Red Fang, Truckfighters, Horisont, Mars Red Sky, Black Rainbows, and many others with whom they share various elements while still maintaining a personality all their own, they were instant crowd pleasers. As the band continues to thrust themselves into Europe’s next generation of heavy rock ‘n’ roll beside acts like Abrahma, Deville, Asteroid, Isaak, Black Rainbows, and Mother Of God, Small Stone is pleased to bring their debut full-length to the masses on March 18, 2014. Further info, including preorder links, to be unveiled in the coming weeks.

-The Bellicose Minds: Seminal Release From Portland Goth/Punks Reissued Via A389

Noisey Streaming Entire LP

As A389 Recordings prepares for the official re-mastered reissue of THE BUZZ OR HOWL SESSIONS — the out-of-print 2009-released recordings from Portland, Oregon’s The Bellicose Minds — Noisey is now streaming the record.

The Bellicose Minds likes to keep the music dark, and sinister, always throwing cynical thought to the foreground, flowing with a dark, early-’80s Gothic rock edge. Having exposed the rock underworld to an array of independent releases since their incarnation in 2008, THE BUZZ OR HOWL SESSIONS is considered to be some of Bellicose Minds’ core, seminal material by their devout, underworld fan base. Self-citing influences from The Chameleons, The Sound, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, and Danse Society, and of course the rain the Northwest continually brings, the energy and purposefully dated tone of the album bears familial roots to TSOL, Agent Orange, and some of the darker West Coast punk/hardcore acts of the mid-late ’80s, and finds them on a regenerative plateau with contemporary acts like Beastmilk and Alaric. Initially self-released only as a 500-copy run on dubbed cassettes, A389 Recordings will officially re-release the long out-of-print THE BUZZ OR HOWL SESSIONS for the first time ever on vinyl on February 7, in both black and clear color schemes. The initial masters of the record have been completely re-mastered at Audiosiege, and the artwork and layout feature a full redesign.

Sink into the melodic infectiousness of THE BUZZ OR HOWL SESSIONS via Noisey now:

The Bellicose Minds have a plethora of new material written and their next full-length — the follow-up to 2013’s THE SPINE LP — is in the works and will see release through A389 later in 2014. Having toured and performed at key underground punk festivals in North America in the past, new live actions for the band will be choreographed with the release of their new album. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming months.

-Mount Salem To Release ENDLESS On Metal Blade Records!

Chicago, IL based psychedelic rock/doom act Mount Salem will release their out-of-print ENDLESS EP on February, 28th 2014 via Metal Blade Records in Europe. This version of ENDLESS will include two brand new tracks, and will be made available on vinyl! Fans can stream the third track on the record, “Lucid,” as well as pre-order the album on CD, vinyl, or digitally now at http://www.metalblade.com/mountsalem .

Mount Salem started writing music together in the summer of 2012 and released their first EP, ENDLESS, in the spring of 2013. The band puts a strong emphasis on tone and feeling in both their songs and live performances alike. Most of the band switched from their normal instruments and picked up new ones for this band and the result was much more natural than they had hoped for.

Taking influence from the classics like Black Sabbath and Pentagram, they play loud, heavy rock and roll using all vintage gear. Throwing their own twist of dark and mysterious doom into the music, they invite the listener to step into their sinister realm. The imagery in the lyrics will take you on a ride in which you won’t know whether to be scared or grab a sword and join the battle. “ENDLESS feels like it’s trapped in the nightmarish head-space of a psychic medium on a bad trip” – Mister Growl of MisterGrowl.com

Mount Salem has toured the Midwest, South, and East coasts. Sharing the stage with bands such as Windhand, Weedeater, Bongripper, LO-Pan, Mothership, and Howl, Mount Salem has fit on a wide variety of heavy shows and brings a live act to counter their music. “This is music that creates images, demands attention, and engages all senses.” – Mister Growl of MisterGrowl.com

Mount Salem is:
Emily Kopplin – vocals & organ
Cody Davidson – drums
Mark Hewett – bass
Kyle Morrison – guitars

Killwhitneydead has begin the pre-order campaign for their new album, SUFFER MY WRATH. New merchandise will also be available for adults, children, and toddlers.

You can preview and place pre-orders here:

Album Information:
North Carolina’s Killwhitneydead are ready to unleash their new album, SUFFER MY WRATH. Their first new material since 2007’s NOTHING LESS NOTHING MORE and HELL TO PAY double shot, the 11-track album finds the band at a crossroads. Entering their 12th year of existence, Killwhitneydead’s origins are deeply rooted in the early deathcore scene, but on SUFFER MY WRATH, the group steps away from the genre’s stylistic confines, creating something much more alluring.

Lead vocalist Matt Rudzinski elaborates, “Over the years, we have definitely been pigeonholed as a group and deservedly so, but when Kyle (guitar) handed me this batch of new songs back in 2010 I knew we were going to shake things up for KWD fans. Are we re-inventing the wheel as far as metal is concerned, not really, but are we attempting to shatter expectations of what a new Killwhitneydead record will sound like in 2013? Sure we are, but whether fans will accept that change only time will tell.”

SUFFER MY WRATH was engineered by new guitarist, Kyle Odell (Vanisher, Bloodjinn), and mixed by longtime friend, Jamie King, at his Basement Studios. Having since dropped off the touring circuit back in 2010, the band was allowed the freedom to record the album at their own pace during the past two years and they believe it shows.

No Killwhitneydead album is complete without some of the band’s extended family of fellow musicians also contributing their talents. Line Of Fire’s Shawn Pelata lends his powerhouse melodic vocal style to seven tracks on SUFFER MY WRATH, while guitarist Matt Johnsen (Pharaoh) and singer Justin Reich (Vanisher) also appear on the record. Jonin members Thomas Clark, Todd Houck, and Stuart Smith round out the guest list of performers on the upcoming album.

Track List:
1. A Prelude To War
2. Sound The Alarms
3. Demons Consume
4. Tyrant Enthroned
5. Evil Lives Within
6. Tip Of My Tongue
7. Sugartooth (Mundus Vult Decipi – Part I)
8. Serpents & Lies (Mundus Vult Decipi – Part II)
9. Living Hollow
10. Replicate To Survive
11. The Death Of Celebrity

Not wanting to shock their fans, the band posted an unfinished version of the album which has been available to stream here since June:

-Messenger’s debut, ILLUSORY BLUES, is due out late in March on Svart Records. Track list: “The Return,” “Piscean Tide,” “Dear Departure,” “The Perpetual Glow Of A Setting Sun,” “Midnight,” “Somniloquist,” “Let The Light In.” Hype: “The musicians had made their names with bands in scenes as far apart as hardcore punk, black metal and ambient music. Tonally; one might recall finding oneself in the same ‘space’ occupied by other architects of sound such as Ulver, The Beatles, Swans, or Pink Floyd. But the stream of sound that emanates from the source of ILLUSORY BLUES is a heaving mass of organic richness; brimmed with intricate sounds that acknowledge the original fathers of experimentation but look forward in creating something new and unique. They dwell equally in the earthly realm of folk music and in the celestial void of progressive psychedelia; but have chanced upon a sound and an experience that sounds like no other.” See http://www.svartrecords.com/ for more.

-Mustasch’s THANK YOU FOR THE DEMON is out now on Gain Records. Track list: “Feared And Hated,” “Thank You For The Demon,” “From Euphoria To Dystopia,” “The Mauler,” “Borderline,” “All My Life,” “Lowlife Highlights,” “I Hate To Dance,” “Don’t Want To Be Who I Am.” Check out the “Feared And Hated” video at http://www.musicbuymail.eu/?i=40019 . Album hype: “Mustasch has an interesting, and completely awesome, sound. Their rhythms and riffs are heavy — as in giant slab of granite heavy, which gives them one foot in the stoner metal territory occupied by bands like The Sword and Orange Goblin, but there’s also a hard rock side to things that brings to mind Motorhead and The Cult (especially in singer/rhythm guitarist Ralf Gyllenhammar’s vocal style and overall presence). They’ve got an overall vibe that’s similar to Volbeat, even though their sound is very different. Mustasch is a band that has all the potential in the world to get huge here if they follow the path Volbeat took in touring relentlessly and winning over new fans one club at a time.” See http://www.mustasch.net/ and https://www.facebook.com/Mustaschofficial for more.

-Primal Fear — Ralf Scheepers on vocals, Alex Beyrodt on guitar, Magnus Karlsson on guitar and keyboards, Mat Sinner on bass and vocals, Randy Black on drums — has released the DELIVERING THE BLACK CD/DVD on Frontiers Records. Track list: “King For A Day,” “Rebel Faction,” “When Death Comes Knocking,” “Alive & On Fire,” “Delivering The Black,” “Road To Asylum,” “One Night In December,” “Never Pray For Justice,” “Born With A Broken Heart,” “Inseminoid.” The deluxe edition features two bonus tracks — “Innocent Man” and “Man Without Shadow” — and a DVD with the “When Death Comes Knocking” video, the “King For A Day” video, and a “making of” feature. Hype: “On the heels of the general consensus met by the previous studio album UNBREAKABLE, Primal Fear are only getting better with time and metal fans around the world are acknowledging this. DELIVERING THE BLACK combines the strongest Primal Fear moments ever, with a well-balanced typical Primal Fear trademark riff-vibe, crushing songs and some very ambitious musical journeys. The centerpiece of the album is the two epic tracks ‘When Death Comes Knocking’ and the ten minute opus ‘One Night In December,’ spiced with big orchestral arrangements and complex sound designs. Classic and ultra-fresh Primal Fear riff-rockers like the title track, the album opener ‘King For A Day’ or the groove monsters ‘Alive And On Fire’ and ‘Road To Asylum’ hit the bulls-eye just like the untamed speed killer ‘Rebel Faction.’ The outstanding ballad ‘Born With A Broken Heart’ shows a new side of Primal Fear with an acoustic guitar vibe and the addition of Liv Kristine (Leaves’ Eyes) on backing vocals.” Check out clips of three songs and the video for “When Death Comes Knocking” at http://www.musicbuymail.eu/?i=40075 . See http://www.primalfear.de/ and http://www.facebook.com/PrimalFearOfficial for more.

-Ring Of Fire — featuring singer Mark Boals (Yngwie Malmsteen, Royal Hunt), guitarist Tony MacAlpine, and keyboardist Vitalij Kuprij (Artension), with a guest rhythm section of bassist Timo Tolkki (Stratovarius) and drummer Jami Huovinen (Sentiment) — has BATTLE OF LENINGRAD out now on Frontiers. Track list: “Mother Russia,” “They’re Calling Your Name,” “Empire,” “Land Of Frozen Tears,” “Firewind,” “Where Angels Play,” “Battle Of Leningrad,” “No Way Out,” “Our World,” “Rain.” Check out clips of all the songs at http://www.musicbuymail.eu/?i=40073 . Hype: “BATTLE OF LENINGRAD is the band’s fourth studio album, coming after a nine-year hiatus — a period which has seen the band members getting involved in other projects, most notably with singer Mark Boals becoming singer for Royal Hunt and Kuprij and MacAlpine touring with Steve Vai, respectively. Ring Of Fire reconvened with Boals, MacAlpine and Kuprij during 2012, when they agreed to work on their unfinished business and develop a new album from the true story of the siege of Leningrad during World War II.” See http://markboalsmusic.com/ for more.

-Stormwarrior’s THUNDER AND STEELE is out now on Massacre Records. Track list: “Thunder And Steele,” “Metal Avenger,” “Sacred Blade,” “Ironborn,” “Steel Crusader,” “Fyres In The Nighte,” “Die By The Hammer,” “Child Of Fyre,” “One Will Surivive,” “Servants Of Metal.” Band and album hype: “Stormwarrior are known worldwide for their unique style combining True Heavy Metal anthems with the concept of Nordic mythology. Hailing from Northern Germany and greatly inspired by the ’80s metal scene, especially the Hamburg Metal godfathers like Helloween and Running Wild, the band was founded by Lars Ramcke. After releasing two demo tapes and playing dozens of live shows, Stormwarrior finally got the attention of one of their all time idols Kai Hansen and recorded their self-titled debut album with him. The album hit the stores in July 2002 and praise from all corners of the globe has been streaming in since then. Successful festival appearances at the Wacken Open (Germany) and a tour with Iron Savior followed. Now, with their new album THUNDER AND STEELE, Stormwarrior are raising the bar once more. Not only staying true to their roots, they managed to evolve their already unequaled musical prowess with the most catchy yet intricate guitar work, earwig-melodies and pushing drum and bass attacks.” Check out clips of three songs at http://www.musicbuymail.eu/?i=40059 , and see http://www.stormwarrior.de/ and https://www.facebook.com/STORMWARRIOR.Official for more.
