-Beggars & Thieves Keep Their Comeback Promise With Their New Album WE ARE THE BROKENHEARTED

Frontiers Records is excited to announce the release of the anticipated new Beggars & Thieves album entitled WE ARE THE BROKENHEARTED on November 29th in North America and December 2nd in Europe.

Beggars & Thieves debuted on Atlantic Records in 1990 with their self-titled album, a record that was critically acclaimed with the first single appearing in the top 40 Billboard Magazine Album Rock Charts and being added to rotation on over 100 Parallel One AOR radio stations. The change of musical climate, and the advent of grunge, halted the band’s rise to the stardom when their new label Epic Records decided not to release Beggars & Thieves second studio album LOOK WHAT YOU CREATE, written and produced in collaboration with Jim Vallance (Aerosmith, Bryan Adams, The Scorpions, Heart, etc.).

In the late ’90s Beggars & Thieves finally independently released LOOK WHAT YOU CREATE followed by THE GREY ALBUM in 1999, before going into hibernation until 2004 when the founding members — singer Louie Merlino and guitarist Ronnie Mancuso — started to play again in the Sin City All-Star’s with guitarist, Brent Muscat (Faster Pussycat) and drummer, Lez Warner (The Cult), opening shows for Tesla, Vince Neil, Ratt, Slaughter, and Skid Row. “That and the amazing Internet support from the European Melodic Rock community pretty much set the stage for reforming Beggars,” recalls Ronnie.

Indeed one of the highlights during the last five years was Beggars & Thieves’ participation at Firefest 2010 in Nottingham, UK. “I don’t think we realized that our music meant so much to so many people. The first time we played Firefest and everybody was singing the lyrics, it just blew Louie and me away,” continues Mancuso. “Right from the start we had offers to do another album, but it wasn’t until I partnered up with producer/engineer Kevin Churko while he was producing Ozzy, that I knew by combining our studios and his engineering and mixing skills, we could make an album that competed on the level of anything being released at the time.”

The resulting new album WE ARE THE BROKENHEARTED promises to firmly position the band on the map for all Hard Rock fans worldwide. In Merlino’s words: “We wanted to make a Pink Floyd DARK SIDE OF THE MOON or a U2 JOSHUA TREE and that is a huge commitment. I’m not saying we achieved it. But that was the level of passion and effort that was put into making WE ARE THE BROKENHEARTED. I think the new songs show our potential to be a truly classic band and we both feel strongly that this is the best work we have ever done. We just hope people get the chance and take the time to really listen and absorb this as an album: This is an album designed to be listened to as a whole entity, not in shuffle mode on an iPod.” WE ARE THE BROKENHEARTED proves that great music is timeless. It’s as fresh as it is familiar. Merlino continues: “This isn’t just some guys trying to have a little fun reliving the past. We got a good ten years left, we aren’t messing around, we are deadly serious. We want to compete with the big boys,” and with the quality of this album they just might get their chance!

WE ARE THE BROKENHEARTED includes the following tracks: We Come Undone; Oil & Water; Innocence; Never Gonna See You Again; Beautiful Losers; Seven Seconds; Stranded; Wash Away; Midnight Blue; We Are The Brokenhearted.

The first single “We Come Undone” can be exclusively listened in full streaming on the Frontiers Records web radio. Tune in at http://www.frontiers.it/webradio .

-Surgeland Records Releases First Single From Kelly Keeling Tribute CD

Carmine Appice, Tony Franklin Collaborate With Georgia Vocalist/Guitarist/Arranger Anthony Z’sler To Modernize “Perfect Day”

Surgeland Records, a division of the Georgia-based Serge Entertainment Group LLC, has released the first single from the upcoming Kelly Keeling tribute CD TUNE IN TO MIND RADIO. The single is a modernized version of the melodic rock song “Perfect Day” which appeared on Carmine Appice’s Guitar Zeus projects and also on Keeling’s solo CD GIVING SIGHT TO THE EYE. The song is performed by Carmine Appice & Friends, and introduces Georgia musician Anthony Z’sler who arranged, mixed and mastered the tune, and also performed lead/background vocals and played acoustic guitar. Legendary drummer icon Carmine Appice, a co-writer of the song, plays drums and percussion along with Tony Franklin (Blue Murder, The Firm, Kenny Wayne Shepherd) on bass. Another Georgia musician, Charlie Gilbert, plays lead guitar. The track was written by Keeling, Appice, and Franklin. “Perfect Day” is available at: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/carmineappicefriendsintr2

About songwriter Kelly Keeling

If ever there was a powerful rock vocalist that has gone through so many incarnations and evolutions, it is Kelly Keeling. From his days with Baton Rouge and on to the band Blue Murder. To writing, singing and performing with guitarists John Norum (Europe) and Michael Schenker. Then joining forces with Carmine Appice’s Guitar Zeus and vocalizing with some of the most renowned guitarists in the world like Yngwie Malmsteen and Vivian Campbell. The next incarnation was the Deep Purple-sounding band Heaven & Earth. Mascot Records released Keeling’s first solo project in 2005 and he later became a vocalist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra. In 2008, Surgeland Records released END OF RIDE REVISITED by Paris Keeling, a reissued project on which Keeling worked with guitarist/songwriter Marty Paris. Kelly Keeling is a Louisiana-born multi-instrumentalist and has been the principle songwriter in every band he has ever been in. He is always in demand as a songwriter, vocalist, producer and guitarist. More info is available at http://www.kellykeeling.net/ .

Musician Bios

Carmine Appice
Author, clinician, drummer… Carmine Appice first came to prominence as the percussionist with the late 1960s psychedelic band Vanilla Fudge. He contributed distinctive background harmonies with bassist Tim Bogert, adding to the group’s high decibel sonic assault. After five albums, Appice and Bogert left Vanilla Fudge to form the blues rock quartet Cactus with vocalist Rusty Day and guitarist Jim McCarty. Eventually, Appice left Cactus with Bogert to join Jeff Beck in the power trio Beck, Bogert & Appice, and then later joined Rod Stewart’s backing band in 1977, co-writing hit songs such as “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?” and “Young Turks.” In 1978, Appice played drums on Paul Stanley’s first solo album. He was a member of KGB featuring Ray Kennedy, Rick Grech, Mike Bloomfield and Barry Goldberg, and has recorded with Stanley Clarke, Ted Nugent, and Pink Floyd. He was the drummer for the bands King Kobra and Blue Murder, and toured with Ozzy Osbourne. Appice worked with Keeling in several projects including Blue Murder, King Kobra, and Guitar Zeus.

Anthony Z’sler
Born and raised in the metro Atlanta area, Anthony Z’sler began his musical journey at the age of 15. The first time he picked up the guitar, he knew that he was destined to write and play music. For the next few years, he played in different bands, using this opportunity to develop a unique personal style. In 2003, while playing local acoustic gigs, he realized that he wanted to pursue a career as a solo artist. A few months later he began recording his first solo project. His debut CD COUNT THE STARS released in 2005 is loaded with heart-driven, hair-raising melodies that touch on love, relationships and faith. He began working with Serge Entertainment to promote COUNT THE STARS, which received considerable airplay and highly favorable reviews as he continued gigging throughout the Southeast including a stop to open for the legendary band Kansas. Since then, Z’sler has discovered his love for recording, mixing and producing. He recently released his second solo album titled DANCE WITH ME and is working on a new pop/dubstep/dance album. Z’sler continues to record and mix local artists in his studio and hopes to soon release his new pop/dance album worldwide.

Tony Franklin
A born performer who first took the stage at age 5, Tony Franklin got his big break in 1984 as bassist in stellar super-group The Firm, with guitar legend Jimmy Page, vocalist Paul Rodgers and drummer Chris Slade (AC/DC, Manfred Mann’s Earth Band). Franklin’s signature fretless growl was a distinctive and instantly recognizable element of the band’s first hit, “Radioactive.” After two hit albums with The Firm, Franklin subsequently performed with Blue Murder (John Sykes, Carmine Appice), David Gilmour, Kate Bush, Whitesnake, Donna Lewis, Gary Hoey, Pat Travers and many others. An in-demand session bass ace, he has appeared on more than 150 albums. Franklin has released two solo albums, BRAVE NEW TOMORROW and WONDERLAND, and a bass instructional DVD. Franklin is currently on tour with guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd.

Charlie Gilbert
Charlie Gilbert (guitar/piano/singer/song writer) began playing at the age of 5 studying guitar, drums, and piano. He grew up indulging in all genres ranging from Blues, Rock, Country, Bluegrass, Jazz, Classical, Progressive Metal, and everything in between. He spent most of his youth performing in church playing Contemporary and Gospel music, until he reached 20 and started playing in many different cover bands. Gilbert is a completely self-taught musician/teacher and music has been the one constant throughout his life. Gilbert brings to the table a unique musical blend which works perfectly to create the edge that can cross every genre.

Make also sure to surf over to the landing page at http://www.metalblade.com/martyr to listen to the title track “Circle Of 8” and to check out the pre-order options!

Martyr is a pure Heavy Metal force from The Netherlands. During the five years that Martyr was alive and kicking (1982-1987), the band released two albums that are considered cult in the Metal scene of today! FOR THE UNIVERSE (1985) and DARKNESS AT TIME’S EDGE (1986) are classic Metal, a delight for those who love strong melodies, speedy riffs and a high level of technicality.

In those years, Martyr appeared on compilation albums from Roadrunner and Metal Blade, was voted Holland’s best new metal band in Aardschok magazine, has toured with several international acts and appeared on Sky Channel’s “Monsters Of Rock.”

Martyr disbanded in 1987, but reunited in 2001 to play the Heavy Metal Maniacs festival. Four years later, the band revived almost the complete 1982 lineup to play the Headbangers Open Air and Keep It True festival. The flame has been burning again and the band continued to play live ever since. December 2008 Martyr supported US Shock Rockers Lizzy Borden on their European tour. But also in 2009 and 2010 Martyr hit the European stages supporting great acts like Flotsam And Jetsam, Vicious Rumors, Jaguar, Evergrey, and others.

In 2009 the first new Martyr record in almost 25 years has been released. That’s when the new EP FEAR was coupled with a re-release of the classic FOR THE UNIVERSE album as a double digi-pak entitled FEAR THE UNIVERSE on Rusty Cage Records (RCR0017).

In 2010 and 2011 Martyr re-entered the studio between the live shows, by working on the successor for FEAR. A complete new album called CIRCLE OF 8, which will be released by Metal Blade Records in November 2011 worldwide, will be a significant impulse in Martyr’s revival. And by signing with Metal Blade again, the clan is back home!

CIRCLE OF 8 contains 11 new tracks and one oldie and fans favorite, “Speed Of Samurai,” which has been re-recorded.

Track listing CIRCLE OF 8:
1. D.I.

-Napalm Records News

Napalm Records continues to defy expectations with two new records set for North American release on November 22nd: Svolk’s SVOLK ‘EM ALL and Nemesea’s THE QUIET RESISTANCE! Svolk are the world’s first “bear metal” band, and Nemesea maintain a more alt-rock flair, but together these two newcomers are an exciting addition to the Napalm arsenal — check ’em out for yourself, as hearing is believing!!!

From the city of Oslo, a new band is shaking things up with their unique brand of bear metal. The genre delivers a riff-heavy mix of stoner rock and metal, as well as a generous dose of Nordic redneck attitude. The 12-track debut is marked by unrestrained and penetrating power in which the guitar take the lead role. SVOLK ‘EM ALL catapults Svolk to the scene’s forefront, where songs like “52” or “Anchor” will soon become the talk of the town. Knut Erik Solhaug could be easily mistaken for Glenn Danzig, if Glenn were wearing Norwegian flannel, and his vocals encourage his fellow band members to reach for new heights. SVOLK ‘EM ALL is a genuine powerhouse of first-class riffs and grooves!

THE QUIET RESISTANCE is the third album by the Dutch formation and offers a more mature, modern, and contemporary approach than that found on Nemesea’s two previous efforts. Although the band continues to stay true to its characteristic style, they do not shy away from including new elements and details to refresh their sound. The guitars and Manda Ophuis’ outstanding vocals continue to be the driving force behind Nemesea. Manda perfectly understands which web of emotion to weave for each particular track and how to make use of her fantastic vocal lines to breathe life into the lyrics. With extremely appealing songs like “Afterlife,” “Caught In The Middle,” or the beautiful ballad “If You Could,” the alternative rock quintet have several surefire hits from the get-go. Nemesea’s THE QUIET RESISTANCE offers intense and soulful alternative rock complete with a subtle breath of gothic and loudly demands the attention the band undoubtedly deserves.

Candlemass: Three Decades Of Doom & Farewell Album

Napalm Records is very proud to announce that the Swedish doom metal legend Candlemass has joined their ranks. The band is currently working on material for their farewell album, which is tentatively scheduled for a spring 2012 release.

Candlemass: “Now it is official, Swedish doom ‘meisters’ Candlemass have signed with Austrian Napalm Records for their 11th and last studio album. The band is very happy and excited about this and are looking forward to work with such a great and growing label as Napalm, home of cool bands like Monster Magnet, Karma to Burn, and Isole.”

Candelmass are currently working on new material and will do one last recording in December, for a spring release. The famous Stockholm doom metalists plan to do numerous shows around the world on a farewell tour that hopefully will take them to uncharted C-mass territories such as Australia, Japan, China and Asia, as well as to the great European summer festivals, USA and South America.

Candlemass have had a long and very successful career. Inventors of doom in 1986 with the colossal EPICUS DOOMICUS METALICUS and worldwide breakthrough the year after with NIGHTFALL. The band disbanded in 1993 after eight years and six albums that today have reached legendary status.

In 2004 Candlemass reformed with their classic lineup featuring the fearsome monk Messiah Marcolin. Massive success again! The white reunion album (2005) took the band to new levels of sales and fame! With KING OF THE GREY ISLANDS (2007) and DEATH MAGIC DOOM (2009), Candlemass cemented their reputation… owned the the record of the month lists, played packed halls all over the world, and celebrated 25 years as a band more popular than ever! Texan Robert Lowe took over the vocal duties in 2007. Candlemass — Three Decades Of Doom!

My Sleeping Karma: Good Karma

The German instrumental psychedelic rock band, My Sleeping Karma, is the latest addition to the Napalm Records roster. Fans should have their lava lamps and incense sticks ready to go, as something big is coming our way!

“My Sleeping Karma are very thankful and excited for the opportunity to work with one of the most important record labels in the independent heavy/rock scene. During several meetings, Napalm’s representatives always gave us the feeling of real understanding in My Sleeping Karma’s musical journey. We were impressed by their open-minded thinking, as it is surely not usual to give an instrumental psychedelic rock band a chance. The band wants to extend a big THANK YOU to all the people supporting us over the years. This step would not have been possible for us without you!”

The band will be unleashing a brand new promo video alongside the single release.

“I do not know why they are not opening the Big Four tour.” — Stereokiller

“…one of the best slabs of thrash revivalism in an era swamped with bands wanting to sound like Testament and Exodus… with solid songwriting, insane chops, and crushing production — not to mention the youthful enthusiasm of the group itself — TIME IS UP pays homage to the ’80s while feeling completely fresh and vital.” — AV Club

“Havok have emphatically outdone their previous effort and come up with a thrash masterpiece…” — Metal Assault

“Everyone should be worshipping at these Denver natives’ altar as they have the flashy skill, ridiculous song-writing chops and prodigious lead guitar work that’ll have even the most jaded ears saying, ‘Okay, just this last one…'” — Rock Sound

“This is a damn good thrash album. Call it retro, new thrash revival or whatever, Havok have the chops and the ability to prove that they have the staying power to last in this genre.” — About.com

“…for those who feel Metallica wussed out, Megadeth got too corporate, Anthrax too modern and Slayer too, well, the same as always, Havok should be a great reminder as to what made thrash so damn cool in the first place.” — Hardrock Haven

-Rough Angel To Announce EP HEAR THE ANGELS ROCK!

US Heavy Metal weights Rough Angel have announced to release their recordings from 1993. Recorded at Paramount Recording Studios, Hollywood, CA and engineered by Csaba Zvekan himself. These recordings originally intended for promoters and industry are now available for the public.

The “lava” like music is lush and heavy with aggressive vocals hovering over the music. In the “grunge” era it is a true classic and can be compared with bands like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Led Zeppelin.

Csaba Zvekan who re-mastered these recordings had to say: “It’s unbelievable how these recordings are almost two decades old and still have the power to convince the listener. The music and lyrics are still current especially these days. I got goose bumps re-mastering this piece of music. It definitely is a gift for all the friends and fans that are out there.”

The players on the EP are:
Csaba Zvekan (Raven Lord, Killing Machine, Sardonyx, Emergency) – Vocals
Jimmy Z. – Lead & Rhythm Guitars
Marc Mougavero – Lead & Rhythm Guitars
Ross Manzo – Bass Guitars
Dave Kappos – Drums

The song tracks that have been put together are as followed:

1. Standing By Mirrors
2. Defiance
3. Let It Burn
4. Hear The Angels Rock

Rough Angel EP – HEAR THE ANGELS ROCK official teaser:

Rock N Growl Management signed Csaba Zvekan in March 2011 to its roster. So it comes to no surprise that these “lost and found” recordings will be published in close collaboration. Rough Angel’s EP HEAR THE ANGELS ROCK will be available under Rock N Growl Records. The digital release date is set to November 30st, 2011.

On the latest release label boss Axel Wiesenauer of Rock N Growl Records said: “I’m really excited about expanding into label work. And so it always starts with a first release. Well, here it is Rough Angel HEAR THE ANGELS ROCK! Enjoy these great tracks.”

Rock N Growl Records can be contacted under promo(at)rockngrowl.com.

-Autumn Launches Second Single “Black Stars In A Blue Sky” Of Upcoming New Album COLD COMFORT Exclusively Via Metal Hammer Germany!

Dutch heavy rock collective Autumn makes a return to the front line with its new album, COLD COMFORT, to be released November 4th/7th via Metal Blade Records in Europe!

Please surf over to the website of Metal Hammer Germany to check out the second single “Black Stars In A Blue Sky” here:

Make also sure to check out the title track and first single “Cold Comfort” and the pre-order options at http://www.metalblade.com/autumn .

This is the band’s fifth full-length effort, their third for Metal Blade Records. It offers a collection of striking songs blended into a diverse and yet surprisingly compact album, one that Autumn considers to be its most personal and meaningful to date.

While Autumn’s roots remain firmly planted in heavy rock/guitar-oriented soil, its branches are stretching out to more progressive musical genres and alternative approaches to the sound of individual songs. Guitarist Jens van der Valk elaborates: “In terms of sound we realized there were still leaps to be taken out of our comfort zone and into unthought-of possibilities. As a first step in the right direction, our main focus was on a more open, transparent sound, one through which the often multi-layered nature of our songs would be optimally channeled.”

Autumn needed not look far for a man to put at the helm with the right pioneering philosophy for the band to begin taking leaps: Erik-Jan Dodd, Autumn’s live sound engineer since the MY NEW TIME era, envisioned a more vintage approach for COLD COMFORT. An experiment the band was all too eager to embrace, explains guitarist Mats van der Valk. “If there’s anyone who knows what we’re all about and more importantly: what we could potentially be all about, it’s E-J.”

COLD COMFORT will be released November 4th/7th in Europe as a limited first edition digi-pak CD including two bonus tracks!

Track listing COLD COMFORT:
1. The Scarecrow
2. Cold Comfort
3. Black Stars In A Blue Sky
4. Retrospect
5. Alloy
6. End Of Sorrow
7. Naeon
8. Truth Be Told (Exhale)
9. The Venamoured
10. Changes For The Bitter (Digi-bonus)
11. The Mute (Inhale) (Digi-bonus)

Autumn is:
Marjan Welman – vocals
Jerome Vrielink – bass
Jan Munnik – keyboards
Jan Grijpstra – drums
Mats van der Valk – guitar, grunts and backing vocals
Jens van der Valk – guitar and backing vocals

-About Heavy Metal’s “Essential Progressive Metal Albums” list is online at http://glclk.about.com/?zi=1/E1B5 .

-Almah’s MOTION (AFM Records) is out now, featuring singer Edu Falaschi, guitarists Marcelo Barbosa and Paulo Schroeber, bassist Felipe Andreoli, and drummer Marcelo Moreira. Track list: “Hypnotized,” “Living And Drifting,” “Days Of The New,” “Bullets On The Altar,” “Zombies Dictator,” “Trace Of Trait,” “Soul Alight,” “Late Night In ’85,” “Daydream Lucidity,” “When And Why.” Hype: “Despite of the fact that since the very beginning Almah experimented with heavier and aggressive parts in the vein of melodic metal, MOTION is an album full of surprises, and the main one is that Almah is not a typical melodic metal band anymore! The musicians tried to tread a new, more modern way, without losing Almah’s recognizable touch with those shredding solos, romantic and strong powerful vocal lines among heavy guitar riffs, groovy bass and swift drums. Many special features have been used for this CD. The guitar parts were recorded with 7-strings instruments, half-step down (B flat), and the rhythm guitars were played four times for extra punch. No wonder that the result is very solid and heavy!” See http://www.almah.com.br/ and http://www.myspace.com/almahedufalaschi for more.

Other themes on the album concern the evils of the tabloid press and global warming. The album ends off in a reflective mood about mortality and how it’s not the end. Yes Glyder are back to stay! This new band members all in their 20’s has added a new fire to the band. New singer Jackie Robinson has a unique rock voice that sometimes hints at Paul Rodgers and Phil Mogg.” Check out clips of three songs at http://musicbuymail.eu/?i=34899 . The soaring vocals that kept these melodies in so many fan’s minds come from two amazing singers: Bobby Kimball (Toto) and Jimi Jamison (Survivor). For the first time in their career, Bobby and Jimi have joined forces together for a ‘duets’ album. Track list: “Animal Attraction,” “Speedin’,” “Born To Break Your Heart,” “Hot,” “Fantasy,” “Dirty Dreams,” “Dance,” “Fight,” “Switchblade Babe,” “On The Radio,” “Coconuts.” The UK version has the bonus track “Young’n’crazy.” Hype: “Reckless Love exploded onto the melodic rock scene last year and their brand of infectious commercial party rock made them instant favorites with fans! With a sleazy image and huge hair, you’d be forgiven for thinking these guys had just walked of a stage on L.A.’s Sunset Strip circa 1986, but believe it or not these guys hail from Finland! Musically these guys create awesome hook-filled songs which are infectious. If you like party rock with anthemic stadium rock choruses this is for you.” See http://www.recklesslove.com/ , http://www.facebook.com/RecklessLove , and http://www.myspace.com/recklessloverocks for more.

The album should be out next year and will include Snider’s duets with Patti LuPone, Cyndi Lauper (on “Hey Big Spender”), and others, and possibly “Sweeney Todd.” Seems Snider rather enjoyed his stint on Broadway last year in “Rock Of Ages.” Snider also has an autobiography due through Simon & Schuster. See http://www.deesnider.com/ for more.

-Spiritus Mundi’s AMERICAN DYSTOPIA is due December 1. Track list: “The Evils Of The World,” “Breeding Ground,” “Culture Of Corruption,” “Merchants Of Cool,” “Down The River,” “Atrocities,” “Patriot Attack,” “Illusion Of Control,” “All Out War,” “Wake Up Or Die,” “Born Into Captivity,” “The End Is Near,” “All Quiet On The Western Front.” Hype recommends the band to fans of Iron Maiden, Slayer, Megadeth, Metallica, Anthrax, and Black Sabbath. More hype: “Original, aggressive, passionate, lyrically driven. Formed from a host of unique talents from across the globe, this technological virtual dream band stands on the shoulders of countless Metal giants, creating a very unique sound of its own. By combining influences of the past with modern elements of present day music, this aggressive yet melodic style maintains a balance between darkness and light. Loaded with melodically heavy riffs, catchy choruses, political and social observations and insightful commentary sung with conviction, this is one hard-hitting chunk of Metal that offers no apologies and gives no sympathy.” The album is available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/spiritusmundi4 . Thanks to Michael R. Wopshall, Allyson B. Crawford, Nightmare Records, Earsplit PR, Dan Marsicano, Pat Prince, Axel Wiesenauer/Rock N Growl, and Chad Bowar for help gathering some of this information.

-Man, those Kiss Kruise set lists look awesome. “All The Way?” “Getaway?” “Room Service?” “Anything For My Baby?” Wow. When “Lick It Up” from 1983 is the *newest* song — and by a wide margin, at that! — you know there were some golden oldies played. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I love when bands do this sort of thing. And don’t even get me started on the unplugged show where they did an “ELDER” medley of “Just A Boy,” “I,” and “Mr. Blackwell.” Hopefully they played more than just, like, one line of each. 🙂

-If you have the bonus DVD that came with Sebastian Bach’s KICKING & SCREAMING, a hidden Easter Egg is Bach’s video for the song “Battle With The Bottle” from 2008’s second season of the “Gone Country” reality show/contest. Find the video as follows: go to the “Music Videos” section, highlight “Kicking & Screaming,” and press right on your remote. Thanks to @blakkmail for this one.

-I had no idea singer Andrew “Mac” McDermott (Threshold, Sargant Fury) died in August. I loved his voice, and I’ve recently been on a Sargant Fury kick for some reason. I saw Threshold and met Mac at ProgPower USA in Atlanta in ’02 and he was totally cool and funny. R.I.P.

-Seems like there’s a lot of these lately — Morton’s “Werewolf Hunt” is the latest song title I’ve seen that takes me back to when I was a 13-year-old budding metalhead. That song *has* to be cool, right? 🙂

-A Kelly Keeling tribute album? Wow. Now don’t get me wrong here — I actually do really like his voice and have many of he albums on which he’s appeared, but a tribute album?

-Yeah, I know, Adam Lambert… I debated the idea of including that press release but I figured, hey, he *did* perform with Kiss on “American Idol” after all.

-Funny tweet from Gene Simmons, during last night’s wedding marathon of “Gene Simmons Family Jewels” on A&E: “Alcohol tastes like piss. And not good piss.”

-Is D-A-D’s 2012 tour really called the “Fast On Wheels 2011” Tour?

-In my current playlist: Gary John Barden – ELEVENTH HOUR (Escape Music), Anthrax – WORSHIP MUSIC (Megaforce Records), Holy Force – s/t (MusicBuyMail.eu), StormWarrior – HEATHEN WARRIOR (Massacre Records), Vargton Projekt – PROGXPRIMETAL (Lion Music).
