-L.A. Hard Rockers DC4 Featuring Jeff Duncan Of Armored Saint And Former Dio Guitarist Rowan Robertson Release ELECTRIC MINISTRY On July, 29th / August, 1st! Reveal Track Listing And Front Art!

L.A. Hard Rockers DC4 are all pumped up for the release of their latest ass-kicking record ELECTRIC MINISTRY! ELECTRIC MINISTRY will be released on CD via Metal Blade Records in Europe on July, 29 (G/A/S), August, 1 (rest of Europe)!

“Welcome to the alter of conviction,” snarls DC4 front man and guitarist Jeff Duncan as the band launches into the title track from their fourth release, ELECTRIC MINISTRY. Tackling subjects such as being on the wrong side of Johnny Law (“25 To Life”), the ultimate male specimen (“Rock God”) and the pleasures of the flesh (“XXX”) the quartet blast through eleven tracks on the opus produced by Bill Metoyer and co-produced by Jeff Duncan.

Metoyer, who has worked with the likes of Armored Saint, Fates Warning, W.A.S.P. and Slayer amongst countless other bands, is basically a member of the DC4 family. “I first met Bill when he engineered Armored Saint’s REVELATION album,” says Jeff. “Before long he started showing up at DC4 shows, checking us out. And he kept showing up more and more, it kind of became more than just showing up to see your friend play, ya know? So, we started talking and when the opportunity came up for us to work together he just jumped on board.”

“We made a point of making ELECTRIC MINISTRY a real guitar album. Back to our roots as guitarists.” says Rowan Robertson. “I think on our last album EXPLODE we still had a bit of that ’90s feel in us so we’ve gotten rid of that now.”

“This was the first time we had any special guests appear on a DC4 album,” relates, Jeff. “We had Dizzy Reed from Guns N’ Roses provide keys on the songs ‘Dirty Hands’ and ‘The Ballad Of Rock And Roll”,’ Gonzo from Armored Saint played percussion on several tracks, also. Then we had our cousin, Erin Duncan, do backing vocals on ‘The Ballad Of Rock And Roll’ and Juliette Primrose (Michael Flatley’s ‘Lord Of The Dance’) played violin on ‘The Ballad Of Rock And Roll’ as well.”

1. Wrecktory
2. Electric Ministry
3. XXX
4. Rock God
5. 25 To Life
6. Broken Soul
7. People
8. The Ballad Of Rock And Roll
9. Glitter Girl
10. Sociopath
11. Dirty Hands

Forming as the 21st Century became a reality DC4 came to be when Jeff Duncan met Rowan Robertson, the band’s musical pedigree is virtually unrivaled by their peers. “Jeff and I met when a local promoter named Happenin’ Harry asked us both to be in his backing back for a few shows in the L.A. area and in Chicago,” relates Robertson. “When we got back to L.A. he just flat-out asked if I wanted to join DC4 and we got along so well and played so great together that I just had to do it.”

Jeff recalls that “I wasn’t into the whole idea of auditioning guitarists, We would know the right one when he came long and that’s exactly what happened. He was looking for the sort of situation we had to offer and as it turned out, we were looking for him!”

Having spent time in such bands as the legendary Dio, metal heroes Armored Saint, the short-lived Violet’s Demise, and Odin, a band who had reached cult status by the end of the 1980s without ever leaving Hollywood, DC4 is much more than just your average hard rock act.

DC4 is:
Jeff Duncan – Lead vocals, guitar,
Rowan Robertson – Guitars
Matt Duncan – Bass
Shawn Duncan – Drums, percussion

DC4 will release their third long-player ELECTRIC MINISTRY via Metal Blade Records on July, 29 (G/A/S), August, 1 (rest of Europe)!

-Swedish Folk Metallers Falconer Launch Second Single Off Their Seventh Album ARMOD Exclusively Via Website Of German Metal Hammer!

Swedish folk metallers Falconer have launched their second single “O, Tysta Ensamhet” taken off their brand new studio album ARMOD via German Metal Hammer.

Please surf over to Metal Hammer to check out “O, Tysta Ensamhet”!

Falconer will release their seventh studio album ARMOD on June 3/6 via Metal Blade Records in Europe!

The CD features 11 songs completely sung in Swedish and four bonus tracks that are English versions of the band members’ favourite new songs.

The four bonus tracks will only be available with the limited first digi-pak edition of ARMOD!

Comments Falconer guitarist Stefan Weinerhall: “The album is embracing the Swedish folk music to a greater extent than before making it sound slightly more down to earth. The music spans from acoustic songs with cello, flute and fiddle to songs with blast beats and really heavy riffing. As said before this is a one-time-only album and does not define the future sound of Falconer, but it was about time to pay full notice to the influence that has always made us different. Now we have that out of our system!”

ARMOD was once again recorded at King Diamond guitarist Andy La Rocque’s Sonic Train Studios in Varberg, Sweden, during December and January.

ARMOD track listing:
1. Svarta Änkan
2. Dimmornas Drottning
3. Griftefrid
4. O, Tysta Ensamhet
5. Vid Rosornas Grav

The bonus DVD includes ancient footage from the early and mid ’80s. All sorts of live clips recorded at various American shows. The DVD also includes the entire show Bitch just played in April this year at the prestigious Keep It True festival in Germany. Filmed with multiple cameras Bitch gave the Keep It True the whip and delivered nothing but a killer show featuring all the greatest hits of the rich Bitch history!

About Bitch:
One of the earliest of the ’80s Heavy Metal club bands to gain national media exposure, Bitch was formed in 1981 and quickly gained a large local following. They generated notoriety (in part) as a result of their live performances which included sadomasochism and bondage themes. They were also the first artists signed to Metal Blade Records and one of the first ever heavy metal bands to have a female lead singer, Betsy “Bitch” (Weiss). No stranger to making history, Bitch was also exposed to the national media during the Parents Music Resource Center (P.M.R.C.) hearings in the US Congress. Shortly after the band was formed, they met Brian Slagel who had recently formed Metal Blade Records, and was a friend of Bitch guitarist David Carruth. The original quartet included vocalist Betsy Weiss, guitarist Carruth, Mark Anthony Webb on bass and drummer Robby Settles. They signed for the label and released a self-financed EP entitled DAMNATION ALLEY (1982). During their early days, Bitch played a lot of gigs with other metal groups such as W.A.S.P., Slayer and Armored Saint.

The following year, the group released their first full-length album, BE MY SLAVE. During the tour of the album, Bitch developed their controversial and elaborate stage shows; these included sadomasochistic elements: clothing with chains and whips, bondage acts with a “slave” on stage.

-The UK Cult Rockers Hell Comment Each Track Of Their Highly Acclaimed — Metal Album Of 2011 — HUMAN REMAINS.

After 24 years, Hell finally receive their long overdue credit. The album sales are amazing and the press ratings beat everything that has been there before. This makes HUMAN REMAINS the most important metal debut of the year 2011, worldwide. Hell are among the most remarkable acts of our time, an unbelievable history, a unique album on his own and a global media hype without peer.

Hell’s guitarist Kevin Bower, takes this occasion and offers an insight on the band’s thoughts about their masterpiece HUMAN REMAINS.

Track Notes: Hell – HUMAN REMAINS

This began life as a rocking instrumental which originally appeared as the B-side of Hell’s self-financed and now extremely rare 1983 7″ vinyl single — subsequently bootlegged, but with the original now selling for absolutely ludicrous money on eBay. For the introduction to this album, Kev Bower has taken some of the principal themes and orchestrated them in full-on Wagner “Sturm und Drang” style using digitally-sampled orchestra and choir.

The intro section to this song is strangely notable for having been written by Tony Speakman whilst he was sat playing his bass on the toilet (bog metal?) with the remainder consisting of typically “agent provocateur” religion-questioning lyrics over slabs of furious riffing. Live performances of this would always see Dave donning a full vicar’s garb complete with the band’s now-infamous pyrotechnic exploding bible. This caused outrage amongst the local clergy at the time — it was literally front-page headline stuff in the local papers…

A true moment of inspiration, written about the Bubonic Plague and the Great Fire of London. This song featured Dave lurching round the stage, enveloped in smoke, dressed in a hooded cloak ringing a plague caller’s handbell. The new intro features a chilling 1665 “Black Death” soundscape — again put together using a digital sampler — but which amazingly features Dave’s voice, which Andy Sneap has somehow managed to lift and reprocess from a 25-year-old live gig cassette-tape recording. The song is historically significant, as it was the penultimate one Dave and Kev ever wrote as a Hell composition.

A bludgeoning adaptation of a Race Against Time song which was a hugely popular feature of the Hell set for many years. The song is about an alien abduction, and the consequent refusal of those in authority to believe the story told by the victim.

A great favourite of both fans and band alike, and a dire warning about the consequences of selling your soul to the wrong deity… The intro and outro of this song are based around haunting sets of synthesizer drones which were Kev’s first foray into keyboards back in the day — using a vintage Moog analogue machine which would drift hopelessly out of tune mid-way through the set as it warmed up under the lighting rig. The song has been updated with a new Latin chant in the middle section beefed up with Gregorian choirs and a massive digitally sampled church organ.

This song opened the show from the very beginning of Hell’s previous existence almost until the end, with Dave performing an intense, lunatic front-man show. Although the song was already fairly quick, the lethal combination of pre-show nerves (no beta-blockers back then…) coupled with immense adrenaline, a baying crowd, Dave’s “anything-goes” antics and the band’s collective over-abundance of youthful testosterone, meant that it was usually played at breakneck speed, with somewhat unpredictable and sometimes amusing results. It would also feature the unleashing of massive quantities of fire and pyrotechnics, which generated so much smoke in smaller venues that the band were usually rendered totally invisible to the audience for at least the first ten minutes of the gig…

A musical and lyrical epic, a classic tale of good versus evil (guess who wins?…) and a song which shows how Kev was becoming ever more adventurous with synthesizers during the latter days of Hell’s first coming. Much Hell material would see him playing either guitar or keyboards individually, but the complexity of this one meant that in the middle section, both were needed at the same time, so some of the keyboard parts were fed in automatically using a sequencer — a kind of digital memory box programmed up to play these parts. This had to be synchronised to a “beep” metronome, so that Tim could play along in time with this gadget, using a click-track relayed to him onstage through headphones.

Straightforward, heads-down, foot-on-the-monitors boogie courtesy of Tony and Tim. When it first surfaced, two members of the band (who shall remain nameless) were very reluctant to play it because it was “too happy” and was deemed to be structurally, lyrically and musically “too simple.” But — the fans absolutely loved it, and it went on to hold the distinction of being one of a tiny number of songs which remained firmly entrenched in the Hell set from the very first gig through to the very last. Just goes to prove that variety is indeed the spice of life…

Whilst most young men were reading car magazines (and other subject matter), Dave was reading Shakespeare, and the “Scottish Play” was his favourite. The song bravely attempts to précis the guts of the story into a few simple lines and was again a huge favourite with the fans, due in part to the cauldron-stirring, three-witches theatrical antics which accompanied the live performance of this. This version is re-worked for 2011, but remains totally true in spirit to the original.

This song was the A-side of the previously-referred-to 7″ single on Hell’s own Deadly Weapon label. The original was recorded in one live take in a studio which was essentially the living room of someone’s tiny terraced house, up a back street in Kingston-Upon-Hull, using very quiet guitars and Tim’s drum kit muffled out with a quilt and pillows from the studio owner’s bed. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t exactly capture the raw guts of the band’s live performance, and it suffered from an achingly soft production. This new version is how it was supposed to have sounded…

A massive slab of dark heaviness with a distinctly mystic-East feel, created using a recycled Halliday verse riff added to a bunch of Kev’s new ones, a new arrangement, and lyrics which deal with the subject of political imprisonment. This song is also historically significant, but in direct contrast to “Plague And Fyre” which was almost the last song, this was the first-ever Hell composition, written by Kev and Dave at his mother’s house one evening, just a few days after the band had formed.

CHANGES is the highly anticipated comeback of the female fronted Swedish Melodic Rockers Alyson Avenue. It’s their third album and it marks the recording debut of powerhouse vocalist Arabella Vitanc, who joined the band in 2009, following the departure of their former lead singer Anette Olzon in 2007 to front Nightwish. The boys on Arabella’s side are main song writer and keyboard player Niclas Olsson, guitar player Tony Rohtla, bassist / guitarist Thomas Löyskä and Fredrik Eriksson on drums.

The band co-produced all songs of the album together with one of Sweden’s best Rock producers, Chris Laney (Crazy Lixx, H.E.A.T., Brian Robertson), who also mixed the record and sang background vocals. With Chris in the producer’s chair, CHANGES turns out to be Alyson Avenue’s most powerful album to date with a crunchier Melodic Rock sound, that gives more space to the guitars.

Half a dozen guests followed the band’s invitation to be part of CHANAGES and add their special touch. The band welcomed Nightwish’s Anette Olzon in the studio to sing background vocals. Anette did always keep in close personal contact with Niclas, who had helped her to record the demos that paved her the way to the Nightwish auditions.

Another longtime friend of the band, Michael Bormann (ex-Jaded Heart, Charade, BISS) sings the duet “Will I Make Love” with Arabella. Michael returns the favour for the guest appearances of Niclas on Michael’s CONSPIRACY (2006) and CAPTURE THE MOMENT (2008) CDs and Anette’s duet vocals on “Two Of A Kind” from CONSPIRACY.

The title track “Changes,” the only outside song writing contribution courtesy of Mats Edström (Shiva), is high lighted by a fiery guitar solo of Swedish guitar wizard Rob Marcello (Danger Danger, Marcello – Vestry) and Fredrik Bergh (Street Talk, BloodBound) plays keyboards on the track “Don’t Know If Love Is Alive,” which he also co-wrote with Niclas.

The lineup of background vocalists for the catchy harmonies throughout the album is completed by Tommy Stråhle and Mike Andersson (Cloudscape, Planet Alliance).

The history of Alyson Avenue started in 1989, back then the band was one of many male fronted followers of Swedish Melodic Rock greats like Treat and Europe. During the following years Anette joined the guys as a background singer and later took over the position as the band’s lead vocalist. They recorded a couple of demos, but it wasn’t until late 2000 when their self-produced debut album PRESENCE OF MIND was officially released. The CD became a big success for the band with the fans and the media alike, including a 93/100 rating in prestigious Japanese Burrn! magazine. Four years later their sophomore effort OMEGA followed, another favourite among Melodic Rock and AOR fans.

In the years to come Alyson Avenue was put on hold and the band members participated in different projects. Following Anette’s successful audition as the new female voice of Nightwish in 2007, the interest in the works of Alyson Avenue started to grow again and the band decided to re-release the two already sought after CDs. Finally in 2009 PRESENCE OF MIND was reissued in its original version, while OMEGA became OMEGA II, with re-recorded instrumental parts to achieve an album sound closer to the band’s vision, while keeping all of Anette’s original vocal performances.

Also in 2009 the band started to audition female vocalists to write a new chapter in the history of Alyson Avenue. They looked for a charismatic lady with a Rock edge and after careful consideration and interest from female singers from around the world, Arabella Vitanc, a previously undiscovered Swedish talent, was chosen to be the voice of Alyson Avenue.

A long time in the making CHANGES became a more mature affair than its two predecessors, the songs grow with each listen and the hooks have the strength to become a long lasting guest in your head.

The If Only Story
“No UK band can play AOR that good, they must be from America!”
Geoff Downes, 1989

It all started back in 1988 in London, If Only was to be centred around the amazing vocal talents of Lorraine Bennington, and after a few false starts and a rotating cast of members things finally settled down with the lineup that was set to record the NO BED OF ROSES album. Founding member and songwriter Greg Hart recruited his band mates from his previous group Moritz, including Ian Edwards on bass, Andy Stewart on keyboards and Andy Elphick on drums. Alongside them they added hot shot guitarist Martin Chaisson (UFO, Waysted). Unfortunately personal events led to the departure of Bennington after just one show, but luckily for the band a friend recommended ex-Girlschool vocalist Jackie Bodimead as a replacement.

“This is where the story really began,” said Greg back in 2004. “Jackie had a voice from the angels, a class that oozed so much quality.” The next year was spent in the studio recording, writing and arranging what would become the original NO BED OF ROSES album, and it was around this time that the band got a break when a “chance hearing” of their working demos fell on the ears of Asia/Yes keyboardist Geoff Downes, who insisted on meeting the band. He was stunned by the quality of songs and performance, thinking it was a “big shot” USA band looking for a UK release. Geoff refused to believe If Only were an English group; “No UK band can play AOR that good, they must be from America!” was Geoff’s famous quote. Geoff saw the band play live in the rehearsal studio and on the spot he insisted on producing the album, taking it into Advision Studios for what would become a huge production. Geoff also invited Greg to write some songs, for the up and coming Asia comeback album AQUA.

With Geoff at the helm, the band completed the album, and even had the privilege of recording the album closer “Man Against The World” (a tribute to the immortal Freddie Mercury) with Mike Moran (Queen, Gotthard). Mike helped the band to finish the record by adding every Queen trick in the book on this beautiful piece and he even tried to get Brian May in to feature but alas time and schedules proved this just a bit out of reach.

With the album in the “can,” and full of potential hit singles, all was set for a big celebration, but yet again a sinister twist would halt the party. Once more with personal issues looming, Jackie left the band at the eleventh hour, causing a devastating blow that halted everything. It was 1991 and with grunge looming ever closer, the band were seemingly in trouble, in debt, and in emotional pieces. But once more help was at hand when the band was told about this amazing female singer from London ready to set the world alight, Tina Egan. She was invited to join the band and be given the arduous task of re-recording the entire vocals on the album. Tina roared her way into the studio and with a voice of blood and thunder, she set about stamping her mark on the tracks. To spice things up, Tina brought in a few of her own tracks for the album, this also inspired the band to record “Long Way From Home,” a new song that became the epic on the record. Tina and the band even set out to play some legendary live shows in the Winter of 1991.

The album, now over two years in the making, and caught in the middle of Grunge was finally finished and released in Japan in 1992. A European release never materialised until 1994, and soon after disappeared. It was a tragedy that the band seemed to attract bad luck and misfortune on a far too regular basis and the band folded in the early ’90s, leaving behind a classic record, now hailed as one of the finest female fronted AOR and Melodic Rock albums ever. NO BED OF ROSES stands up there with the classic albums by artists like Vixen, Witness, Robin Beck, Heart, Laos, Lee Aaron and Darby Mills.

And tragedy was to dog the band even long after their split with the untimely death of Tina Egan in 1999. Devastating the music world, friends and fans, alike, Tina will remain the “star” she alas never became. Tina was, and remains a simply gigantic loss to the music business. The story ends on a happier higher note with the reformation of Greg, Ian and Andy’s previous group Moritz in 2008 thanks to the worldwide interest in their back catalogue.

Following their unexpected and successful comeback to the AOR scene, they recorded UNDIVIDED, Moritz’ first-ever full-length album, which was released through Avenue Of Allies in January 2011.

But for here and now, NO BED OF ROSES is a tribute to the late great Tina, who when pronounces on “I’m No Angel,” “Heaven shook with my first yell…” you know she damn well meant it!

While Peter and Dazz had a Group in the early ’80s, which was called Maggie’s Madness (later renamed as Wildcat), Robbo and Jo have been the heart of the rock band Vacancy.

Beside Talon and later Frontline, these two rocking Acts were the only ones out of Nuremberg that got their name spread all over Germany and Europe.

-Marazene Machine: “Live Wire” Cover Scores “Killer” Comments From Motley Crue

Motley Crue Members Give Thumbs Up To Marazene Machine “Live Wire” Cover

CHICAGO, IL — Chicago’s Marazene Machine (formerly Marazene) have been “swooning” over the recently posted comments by rock legends Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx about the band’s digital single cover of “Live Wire.” Described as an “edgy electronic/whiskey/sex-fueled rendition of the Motley Crue classic,” “Live Wire” is currently available at iTunes or for free download (with email signup) for a limited time at the following location:

Tommy Lee was first to notice the track over the weekend. “F*cking wicked version” he tweeted on the social networking juggernaut Twitter.

“Killer,” Nikki Sixx was quick to concur in a retweet.

Motley Crue, currently on tour in South America, have been in the news almost daily keeping fans updated on their current whereabouts and happenings. To say they have a lot on their plate would be an understatement so the comments definitely come during a time when it would have been just as easy to say nothing at all or the track to have been overlooked altogether.

For those in cushy industry strongholds like MTV, Blabbermouth, AP, Century Media, Roadrunner, Nuclear Blast, Bullet Tooth and the like; this may all seem like just another day in metal news.

But Marazene Machine members are humbled to have been mentioned at all.

“It’s a grounded/stuck-in-his-room-for-a-YEAR kids dream come true to hear this kind of acknowledgement from a couple guys I deeply admire,” offered vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Dietrich Thrall. “I think I’m going to wallpaper my studio with print outs.”

“Always a good feeling to get the ‘nod’ for a cover song from the guys who wrote it!” commented vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Nikk Skum.

Over the years the independent Marazene Machine have racked up several major and impressive accomplishments. The band was quick to land three instrumental tracks on “The Matrix Revolutions” and subsequent “The Matrix Reloaded” box set out of the gate then followed that up with multiple self-managed National tours with the likes of Mushroomhead, The Human Abstract, Psyclon Nine, Wednesday 13, and DeadStar Assembly 100% DIY. Marazene Machine also took the lead in establishing themselves as “virtual” performers in Second Life, a social interactive virtual world.

More recently the band survived the recent passing of original drummer and co-founder Kristopher “Kristov” Kemp to cancer which threatened to end their run outright. Marazene Machine abruptly went silent only to emerge after a self-imposed mourning period with an archive of 40+ songs which are on deck to be released in the coming months as digital singles and future albums.

With little industry support other than a rabid cult fan base “defying the odds” has become a calling card for one of the hardest working underground bands today.

And with a new album in the works set for Fall 2011 release, industry experts would do well to keep an eye on Marazene Machine as nabbing a quick spotlight no longer seems to be a fluke — it’s fast becoming a time-honored tradition.

-Daydream XI: “The Guts Of Hell” Single And Video Released

Brazilian progressive/power metallers Daydream XI posted online their new single, entitled “The Guts Of Hell,” and also a video featuring footage from the recording sessions.

About the new song the group comments: “This ‘The Guts Of Hell’ single shows a little bit what people can expect from Daydream XI in the next records. We picked it as a single because it is straightforward, fast and heavy song. The video was made with footage from the recording sessions and it was produced by us. We are working hard with 7-string guitars and developing things from what we did so far. The songs are heavier and have more progressive elements than HUMANITY’S PROLOGUE EP, but still have all the characteristics that define us.”

Band: D Drive

D Drive began rocking the Northeast in 2004 when guitarist Don Mancuso (The Lou Gramm Band, Black Sheep, Cheater, and Celtic Fire) put together his second solo recording effort after finishing tracks for singer Phil Naro’s (Talas, Peter Criss, 24K) GLASS MOUNTAIN project. Mancuso and Naro joined forces to write the first self-titled D Drive album. Singer Lou Gramm (The Lou Gramm Band, Foreigner, Black Sheep) heard the demos for the D Drive CD, asked if he could come in as guest vocalist/co-writer, and they obliged! Canadian producer Steve Major rounded out the direction and production.

Released in 2005, the first D Drive CD received critical acclaim and airplay in the US, Australia, and Europe. The band’s signature sound blends strong classic rock roots with a modern edge sound all its own. The first D Drive CD did so well that Mancuso and Naro decided to put together the band’s second release in 2007 entitled STRAIGHT UP THE MIDDLE. The new album has received accolades from a rapidly growing legion of D Drive fans, and is in its second pressing. D Drive released a video in summer ’08.

Two Side Moon Promotions are excited to welcome to the team Austrian Melodic Hard Rock band Speed Limit.

Please find below the text press info for the bands new album MONEYSHOT.

Band: Speed Limit
Album Title: MONEYSHOT
Country: Austria
Label: Pure-Rock-Records
Street Date: December 10, 2010
Genre: Melodic Hard Rock

Speed Limit started their crusade to establish the band’s name on the world map of heavy metal music in 1984 in Salzburg/Austria. In 1986 they released the self-financed UNCHAINED record which confirmed their position amongst the leading Austrian metal acts. Soon they got signed by Austrian metal label Breaking Records.

In 1988 the EP THE PROPHECY including single “Lady” made them enter charts in seven European countries followed by international video airplay, contribution in “best of rock/metal” compilations all over the world. The Austrian music magazine Rennbahn Express voted Speed Limit “best national metal act” in 1989 (jury members: Gene Simmons/Kiss, Wurzel/Motorhead, Bruce Dickinson/Iron Maiden). PERFECT INSPIRATION, the third album was released in 1992 and opened the last chapter of the first part of the band’s story which ended in 1994.

2008 Speed Limit reunited in the successful lineup of 1989 with singer Steven Hogger, bassist Chris Pawlak, the guitarists Chris Angerer and Joe Eder, and drummer Wolf Krug. “This is no comeback, this is a new beginning!” the five agreed.

Shortly after the first rehearsals Speed Limit had been invited to open for Nazareth in Austria. The first live appearance after nearly 14 years took place on April 12th, 2008 at Gusswerk/Salzburg. The overwhelming reaction of some 1,300 rock fans washed away the last doubts about this reunion.

For a thunderous reunion party the Rockhouse Salzburg was packed on 27th of October 2008 before Speed Limit embarked on a brief tour with Uriah Heep in November. They also co-headlined the Austrian Rock Festival in Klagenfurt and continued their reunion tour as headliner in 2009 before playing some highly rewarding shows with Manfred Mann’s Earthband in Germany.

Midsummer 2009 the band stopped live activity to start working on a new album. Finally in November 2010 the new album MONEYSHOT was released by Pure-Rock-Records a new sublabel of Pure-Steel-Records.

TSM are delighted to announce the new release from rockers Trouble Tribe Japan (TTJ).

Please find below the text info for the new album SUPERSONIC STARE!

Band: Trouble Tribe Japan (TTJ)
Label: Independent
Street Date: 5/10/2011
Genre: Hard Rock/Metal/Pop

About TTJ
Based in Osaka Japan, TTJ boasts a lineup of two supreme Japanese guitar players that play 7-string guitars and 6-string bass. Add one slammin’ American drummer and a stereotypical Irish singer into the mix, and you’ve got “total chaos that makes your butt move!” The band’s various musical backgrounds and culture create a unique blend of rock that some in the media have described as “…fresh but nostalgic,” “…a thumping pacemaker in your chest!” and “They kick their own asses!”

Since forming in the year 2000, TTJ has marked several accomplishments. Armed with only low-budget demo material, the band members were featured guests on FM radio stations such as FM Osaka, FM CoCoLo, Kiss FM, and FM Wai Wai. Such radio airplay helped land three of their tracks on a movie soundtrack called “Maido” which was released at the end of 2002.

In 2004, the band clinched their first record deal on Onkyo’s label, Premium Stones, which triggered more media attention. In addition to almost daily FM radio airplay, the band was featured as guests several times on Japan Music TV and NHK. TTJ hit a peak in 2005 and followed that up by booking as many shows as possible from Fukuoka to Tokyo.

In spite of the effort, however, TTJ was not satisfied with their progress. As a result, they parted ways with Onkyo to create a musical direction that would be more true to themselves. It was an uphill battle to be sure, taking more than five years to complete their next album. SUPERSONIC STARE, however, is the comeback that many have been waiting for. Besides stronger song-writing and a good production, the band has captured its signature sound and become exactly what they always wanted to be. In their eyes, that’s all the success they ever wanted. “It’s not about trying to be rock stars,” says drummer, Gordy. “It’s about doing what we love to do, and that’s simply playing together.”

You can see TTJ playing in venues of all sizes between Tokyo and Sydney. You’ll see them at the Hard Rock Cafe, outdoor festivals and fairs, and even smoky bars. Seeing them in any one of these venues however, will give listeners a different experience every time. Perhaps that’s one reason why “they kick their own asses!”

The Band:
Lead Vocals – Brian O’Kane
Guitar – Jun Sugimoto
Bass – Yugi Uchida
Drums – Gordy Carlson

Track Listing:
1. In My Head
2. Supersonic Stare
3. Sunny California
4. She’s Got It All
5. Sacred Places
6. Starlight
7. When You Doubt

Two Side Moon Promotions are excited to welcome to the team Norwegian Classic Rock band Hercules.

Please find below the text press info for the bands rockin’ new album ROCKWAVES.

Band: Hercules
Album Title: ROCKWAVES
Label: MM Productions
Street Date: Out Now
Genre: Classic rock/boogie rock

Hercules is a boogie and rock ‘n’ roll band from Norway. The band was born in 1998 and recorded their first EP in 2000 called NICE TRY.

Hercules’ first album was called CHECKIN’ IN and released early 2001. The band’s second album LICENSE TO ROCK was released in September 2005 and was in many ways the band’s breakthrough. The album got great reviews both in Norway and abroad. UK’s Classic Rock magazine said: “best heads-down-no-nonsense-boogie album of the year.”

The song “Rat Race” was later included on a “best of” CD made up by of Norway’s most famous Radio and TV DJ Finn Bjelke; other bands on the album were Status Quo, Thin Lizzy, CCR, ZZ Top, and others. ROCKWAVES is Hercules’ brand new album, with all songs again written by Vemund Moss (with Dutch lyricist Jan Leentjes). ROCKWAVES has already received great reviews and many say it’s Hercules’ best album so far.

On seeing the band live radio DJ Finn Bjelke said, “Hercules move wigs and make gaps between teeth.” Another review of ROCKWAVES said: “It’s 40 years of rock crammed into one album.” Hercules have shared stages with acts like The Quireboys, Dan Baird, Nazareth, Blackfoot, and Blackberry Smoke to name a few.

We are in Norway again, and here we find yet another marvelous act loitering around the Norwegian rock scene. ROCKWAVES is the second CD from this Norwegian five piece. The band are: Vemund Moss – Lead vocals and guitar, Kristian Hauge – Keys, Simen Knuts – Lead vocals and bass, Lars Braastad – Drums and Tormod Haug on Rhythm guitar.

If you are a fan of bands like Bad Company, Status Quo, Nazareth, Thunder, Aerosmith (circa TOYS IN THE ATTIC), Foghat, etc. then you will no doubt enjoy what the band have to offer, it’s all been done before of course, but who cares right? And what’s more Hercules seems to be at home playing this style of rock. The album comes over very focused and sincere. The songs have substantial amounts of oomph and the production is also very good, without sounding to, how can I say, modern? Just prime time good time rock n’ roll fun is what can be heard all the way through ROCKWAVES.

My favourite songs are “Waiting,” very catchy song, great playing from the entire band. This track comes at you like a slice of Boston, 707, Aerosmith, Sammy Hagar, Foghat and 38 Special all baked into one dish. “Wanna Play” is also very infectious and in the vein of Status Quo, the track is very ’70s retroish sounding with superb vocals and guitar work. My other favourite song is “Heading For Trouble,” this song just rocks and grooves, ladies to the dance floor please.

All in all ROCKWAVES is a varied album with ample bouts of heavy ’70s retro groove with an early ’80s good time fun rock ‘n’ roll vibe. You know the saying, had this come out in the ’80s it would have sold bucket loads. You can purchase the CD from CD Baby.

Two Side Moon Promotions are excited to welcome to the team Australian modern pop/rock band Enspier.

Please find below the text press info for the bands excellent catchy new album THE HALL OF MIRRORS.

Band: Enspier
Label: Enspier Music
Street Date: May 2011 (UK)
Genre: Pop Rock

Enspier is a rock band on a mission, and that mission is to inspire listeners to transcend the ordinary from Australia to the other side of the globe.

Enspier’s debut release THE HALL OF MIRRORS has taken listeners to that special place. A place, that cannot be defined by words but can be expressed through music.

In 2005 Enspier was formed and the band began writing for their album THE HALL OF MIRRORS, their journey began wanting to create a fresh new sound and this took them on a ride they would never forget.

These five perfectionists found themselves working every night to create a new style of artistic music, rock music that would not only prick up the ears of the public but turn many heads as well. They have an energy that makes for an incredible album you don’t want to miss.

David Galluzzo’s angelic, soulful yet solid lead vocals enchant the audience while playing his guitar. Jeremy shows his genius ability on bass and backing vocals, DB with an aggression on the guitar that would make anyone bend to their knees, Joe Rahme with his “machine like hits” confuses the most intelligent mind with his mathematical inspiration, and last but definitely not least Costa Lambiris on percussion adds his own unique flavor to the mix. While each member of the band brings his own special talent and musicianship the Enspier boys are proud of the diversity in sounds that influence them as artists and as a band.

King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Kate Bush, Elton John, The Carpenters, Dream Theater, Prince, U2 and Guns N’ Roses all had major parts to play in the creation of Enspier even though they didn’t know it.

Enspier headed to 301 Studio Sydney where they recorded 13 tracks under the production of Aria Award winner Anton Hagop (Producer/Engineer for Silverchair and Powderfinger). The mastering of the album was done at New York’s famous Sterling Sound (AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses and Pearl Jam) and as you will be able to tell, the result is a truly inspiring melodic rock album sure to appeal to lovers of all ages.

Enspier’s five intense, talented musicians have poured their heart and souls into creating THE HALL OF MIRRORS. They have performed on MTV’s “The Lair” at the Metro in Sydney and MTV like their music so much they decided to film a video for the track “Deliverance.”

Enspier is looking into the future and are dedicated to bringing THE HALL OF MIRRORS to audiences worldwide. Make sure you keep an eye on their website for any upcoming events.

About The Lonely H
The Lonely H have three domestic releases, CONCRETE CLASS, KICK UPSTAIRS and HAIR on The Control Group with distribution through ADA.

With worn out boots and starry eyes, The Lonely H return from the road bearing one thing: CONCRETE CLASS. After 400+ shows in the last few years, these knights-in-shining-denim have seen their share of hard-wood floors, hopeless drunks, and enough roadkill to feed Detroit.

Following up KICK UPSTAIRS (2006) and HAIR (2007) both on The Control Group, CONCRETE CLASS, The H’s third full-length, reels with the rawness of Bob Seger’s blue collar howl, and rolls with the purity of a “Tequila Sunrise.” But it doesn’t end there — these 12 tracks, recorded and mixed on miles of analog tape, sweat with the heart and honesty to match. Bearing melodies that pump at the passing of every mile marker, the music radiates a steadfast dedication to not only rock and roll music, but to rock and roll as a way of life. This idea, the boys don’t take lightly.

Don’t let the fresh faces and blonde locks fool you, these northwest gauchos have seen more red, white, and blue than that trucker eyeing your little sister. And they’re not satisfied yet. Hitting the road for yet another full course of America, the Lonely H would gladly hock all their leather and feathers just to fill the tank one more time. And that, they will.

The last time Don Henley sat at the same booth as the rest of the Eagles, he ordered “Concrete Class.”

About Smirnov
Smirnov’s story is a story to tell!

“Typical Russian wonder!” That’s what Russian journalists say about Ivan Smirnov and his new project Smirnov as a result of an incredible journey from the winters of Russia to the center of L.A. music scene.

Year 2010. Smirnov has recently finished recording his American debut album PRIVET EARTH! with a Grammy-nominated producer Robb Vallier (Bon Jovi’s BLAZE OF GLORY, P. McCartney, Eurythmics, Whaling Souls, etc.) and has just finished shooting videos for two album singles: “A Phuken Angel” and “The Saddest Boy In The World.”

Born in St. Petersburg and raised in a small city of Vologda a few hundred miles from Moscow, Ivan was heavily influenced by the American/British rock scene and started writing his own material in English at the age of 8. While studying classical piano, Ivan also picked up the guitar and by the age of 19 he had an independent self-produced album under his belt. Going international was always his dream. This dream finally drove him to pursue his career nowhere else, but the entertainment capitol of the world — Los Angeles! His friends thought that this penniless 19 year old student was just joking… But just a few years ago, after 12,000 miles and obstacles Ivan finally made it to Hollywood! “The struggle was unbelievable!” remembers Ivan. “One day I even found myself homeless sitting in front of a McDonalds in Burbank with the only thing I owned — my guitar.” But he didn’t give up. His explosive performances, unique vocal style and enormous talent quickly gained this Russian wonder respect among everyone who heard his music. With kick-ass shows and dedicated fans in different parts of the planet, Smirnov is ready for SUCCESS!

Muzik Reviews (USA) writes an incredible review of PRIVET EARTH! giving the album 5 / 5 stars!

-LoNero Releases Much Awaited New Album J.F.L.

Metal / Guitarcore / Rock

What Is Guitarcore? The Answer Is Simple… J.F.L.!!

LoNero gave birth to Guitarcore with their first release RELENTLESS in 2007. Fourteen tracks of punishing rhythms and strong melodic hooks. From the time RELENTLESS was released, musical barriers were not only broken, but shattered! Fans of nearly every genre responded with more enthusiasm than the band could have ever imagined which gave even stronger resolve to LoNero’s idea that the melody and song should be the most important aspect whether it’s instrumental rock or not. Guitarcore is about the song, the band and the fans! No limits, no borders, no nonsense. Unlike most instrumental rock artists whose songs are a seemingly endless display of solos, LoNero chooses to focus on rhythm, groove, verse, chorus and melody. Their songs are constructed as if a vocalist is going to sing over them. As Guitar Player magazine stated “(LoNero) claims to have invented Guitarcore so you should really hate them! But you can’t because they’re just so damn good!”

LoNero’s vision and drive is evident in their 2011 release J.F.L. This time with the talents of Grammy Award winning producer/engineer Michael Rosen (Metallica, Joe Satriani, Santana, Papa Roach, Rancid, Testament, Todd Rundgren and many many more). Recorded entirely at LoNero’s rehearsal/recording studio, J.F.L takes Guitarcore to an even more refined level. With such songs as “Little Bastard,” “Eden,” Downside,” etc., LoNero proves groove and melody are still king. Not only has LoNero created Guitarcore, but with J.F.L. they introduce “Punkstramental.” With a nod and wink to bands such as The Ramones and Social Distortion, the punkstramental songs “Fat Tat” and “Good Luck” keep the punk vibe alive within an instrumental format. Something truly unique within the instrumental genre.

With J.F.L., LoNero continues to move forward and forge new ground while still retaining integrity and honesty in their music. Something that is tantamount to what Guitarcore stands for.

Track List:
Little Bastard
Fat Tat
New Song
Good Luck
King Of Damage

Order from LoNero or Nightmare Records

LoNero knows a lot of you like to purchase your music on iTunes, etc., but trust me, LoNero put a lot of work into designing the new album and nothing gives you the complete experience of an artist’s music like holding the CD in your hands and reading the liner notes (of which there are plenty).

KmS RoX Review:
Founding father Bill LoNero refused to take the short path to success in order to preserve the integrity of his visionary concept of “Guitarcore.” With Bill on Lead / Rhythm / Harmony Guitar, he recruited Mike McKaigg on Bass, Brandon Hayes on Rhythm / Harmony Guitar and Marco Bicca on Drums and they set out to take music to a new level. Guitarcore literally has each instrument doing the singing therefore one does not miss the vocals. The success of Guitarcore and raving reviews are well deserved. LoNero just set the bar higher for everyone else that picks up a guitar. Guitarcore is not instrumental music it is art pure and simple. Each person that listens will have their own individual interpretation of the music as it will invoke many emotions which can be interpreted differently each time you listen depending on your reception giving you an album and experience that will never get old. Why have a vocalist tell you what the song is about when you can feel the words? This is a must have album for any Rock / Metal and newly created genre Guitarcore fan. — Kimmie M Sharon – KmS RoX Founder/CEO

-Unearth: Worldwide Premiere Of New Track, “Ruination Of The Lost,” Brought To You By MetalSucks

Today popular metal portal MetalSucks hosts the worldwide premiere of Unearth’s “Ruination Of The Lost,” the explosive second track off the band’s upcoming DARKNESS IN THE LIGHT full-length.

Commented vocalist Trevor Phipps: “‘Ruination Of The Lost’ is a pummeling frontend album song that showcases our mix of both American and European metallic influences with an Apocalyptic lyrical theme. Buz [McGrath] and Ken [Susi] both rip some serious guitar solos in the tune and their guitar harmonies are hauntingly catchy. This one is a high energy shredder while lyrically it speaks about the end of the human race in the not so distant future if we continue to destroy our planet with the current level of disregard year after year. It’s hard for me to understand why people still let money and politics interfere with any real positive change even with the warning signs Mother Nature has given us. The title of the song refers to the self-destructive nature of the human race and how we are collectively so lost in our lust for money and power that we are destroying the world that gave us life in the first place.”

Charging out of the late ’90s Massachusetts underground in a storm of thunderous riffs and focused aggression, in 2011 Unearth proudly stand at the forefront of modern metal. Slated for North American release via Metal Blade Records July 5, the 11-track long player was recorded at Zing Studios in Westfield, Massachusetts with producer (and Killswitch Engage guitarist) Adam Dutkiewicz and mixed at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida by Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel, Trivium, et al). Sitting in on drums during the recording was Justin Foley of Killswitch Engage/Blood Has Been Shed.

In March of this year, the five members of King Giant entered legendary Inner Ear Studios (Minor Threat, Fugazi, Avail, Jawbox, etc.) to take their thunderous doom-bred Southern rock to the next level on their sophomore full-length; the follow-up to their acclaimed debut album, SOUTHERN DARKNESS.
