-’80s Rockers For Japan Benefit April 16 At Harper’s In Tarzana, California

Including Performances By Onetime Members Of AC/DC, Whitesnake, Foreigner, Ratt, Dokken, Asia, Megadeth, And Guns N’ Roses

The original “We Are The World” and last year’s “We Are The World 25 For Haiti” featured great artists raising money for important causes, but they failed to do one thing — really rock!

No worries there with the ’80s Rockers For Japan benefit Saturday, April 16 at Harper’s in Tarzana ( http://www.harpersbar.com/ ). Organized by Terry Ilous (XYZ, Great White), the show will include members of some of the ’80s most popular rock and metal bands. Ilous and Jeff Paris have also written a song and are creating a video that will feature many of the participating musicians. The song will be recorded, and the video shot live at the benefit. It will subsequently be available on iTunes. Proceeds from the event and sales of the track and video will be donated to the American Red Cross ( http://www.redcross.org/ ) Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief efforts.

“Japan has always been very supportive of our kind of music, and this is our small way of giving back,” says Ilous.

In addition to Ilous, performers who have committed to the show and recording/video project include Chris Slade (AC/DC, The Firm), Rudy Sarzo (Whitesnake, Ozzy Osbourne, Blue Oyster Cult), Brian Tichy (Whitesnake, Foreigner, Billy Idol), Richie Kotzen (Poison, Mr. Big), Juan Croucier (Ratt), Jon Levin (Dokken), John Payne (Asia), Teddy Zigzag (Guns N’ Roses), James Lomenzo (Megadeth, Black Label Society), Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake), Robin McAuley (Survivor, MSG), Simon Wright (Dio, AC/DC, UFO), Robert Sarzo (Hurricane), and Mitch Perry (MSG, Asia, Edgar Winter).

Other vocalists contributing to the benefit song include Lita Ford, Don Dokken, and Paul Shortino. The show will also feature guitarists Richie Kotzen (Mr. Big, Poison) and Michael Thompson, an American musician well known in Japan. Line6 will provide the backline and Spaun Drums will provide all drums.

A live streaming broadcast will be done by Front Row Entertainment ( http://www.frontrowent.tv/ ) and viewers will be able to watch the event for free online; a link to the Red Cross will be provided and the musicians who are participating request that those watching make a small donation. -Eric Johnson’s Latest Release To Get Vinyl Treatment

Eric Johnson’s latest release, UP CLOSE, was a long time in the making (five and a half years). But as evidenced by its reception (All Music Guide pointed out that “[Johnson] continues to find interesting ways to hone his specific craft on UP CLOSE”) and its impressive list of special guests (Sonny Landreth, Steve Miller, Jimmie Vaughan, and Jonny Lang), the wait was well worth it.

Fortunately, fans will not have to wait long at all for a vinyl version of UP CLOSE, which is slated for release on April 19th, via EMI Records and Vortexan Music. The album will be issued on 180 gram vinyl, and housed in a beautiful special double LP gatefold package with printed sleeves. Additionally, UP CLOSE was re-mastered specially for this vinyl release by Jim Wilson.

Johnson has long been considered one of rock’s most talented six-string players, as evidenced by his platinum-certified 1990 release, AH VIA MUSICOM, its hit single “Cliffs Of Dover,” as well as a Grammy Award win for “Best Rock Instrumental Performance” in 1991. Additionally, Johnson graced the cover of the March issue of Guitar Player Magazine, was recently named Guitar International’s “Guitarist Of The Year,” and won an unprecedented 33 awards at the Austin Music Awards since 1982, including taking home “Best Electric Guitar,” “Best Acoustic Guitar,” and “Best Instrumental Band” awards at this year’s ceremony.

-World’s Greatest Prog Rock Band & Grammy Award Winners Yes Announce: Trevor Horn To Produce New Album FLY FROM HERE

To Release On Frontiers Records July 2011

The world’s most quintessential Prog Rock band, Yes, announces today their highly anticipated new album FLY FROM HERE. This marks the first album in ten years with legendary, two-time Grammy Award winning producer, Trevor Horn.

Horn and Yes bassist Chris Squire re-discovered the track “Fly From Here” which has never been recorded as a studio track. “Chris and I were talking one evening about a song ‘Fly From Here’ that we never recorded,” explains Trevor Horn. “I said I was prepared to spend two weeks with Yes recording that song. When I arrived in America to record it, I was taken prisoner by the band and only allowed my freedom again in return for producing the whole album. It was an offer I couldn’t refuse!!!”

FLY FROM HERE encompasses Yes’ signature brand of mysticism and grand-scale compositions. Maintaining a complex, symphonic sound that features the beautiful harmonies and strong heavy riffs they are known for. “The new album represents the best of Yes from the ’70s and the ’80s with a current twist,” states Squire.

Geoff Downes has also reunited with Yes to record FLY FROM HERE, bringing Yes’ classic symphonic sound with his strong style of playing. Downes had originally joined Yes and recorded the album DRAMA in 1980. Yes features a lineup of guitarist Steve Howe, bassist Chris Squire, drummer Alan White, and Geoff Downes on keyboards with lead singer Benoit David.

Yes are the pioneers for the use of synthesizers and sound effects in modern music, which produced such timeless, symphonic-rock masterworks as “Roundabout,” “Close To the Edge,” and “Awaken.” Yes continued to push the cutting edge of art-rock music to their limits, selling over 30 million albums, reaching platinum status multiple times worldwide.

Yes’ powerful mainstream progressive compositions have influenced a generation of musicians with a hugely successful and indelible catalogue of music with hit albums such as DRAMA, FRAGILE, CLOSE TO THE EDGE, and 90125. Classics such as “Roundabout,” a seminal hit which consistently appears on “the best songs of all-time” lists, and the group’s #1 hit “Owner Of A Lonely Heart,” which Horn is responsible for. Taken from the Yes album 90125, this single would form part of a unique double, which would see Yes and Horn top both the UK and US charts simultaneously.

FLY FROM HERE will be released on Frontiers Records July 2011. More details about the album, its packaging and Yes’ live plans for the rest of the year will become available shortly.

-Strange Karma Release Hard Rocking Debut, VOLUME 1

There was a time when rock bands weren’t so darn one-dimensional. Think back to the days of Led Zeppelin, Queen, etc., and it was a time that it was accepted for a hard rock-based band to be able to mix things up with piano ballads and other musical detours. The Australia quartet, Strange Karma, is a most-welcomed throwback to this aforementioned era, as evidenced throughout their new release, VOLUME 1 (issued via FNA Records — http://www.fnarecords.net/ ).

Comprised of brothers Martin Strange (singer) and Paul Strange (guitar), as well as Doe Prijono (bass), and Jason McDonald (drums), Strange Karma has just issued their kick ass debut, which runs the gamut from vintage hard rock anthems (the lead-off single/video, “America,” and “Harder Than A Stone”), as well as more reflective material (“Time” and “Down and Out,” the latter a track that won “Best Unsigned Act” at the 2010 UK MMA MP3 Awards). “Thirteen days to record, three years to release,” says Martin Strange. “Our Music must be heard and our shows must be seen. We make our own dreams. Strange Karma – VOLUME 1!”

And unlike many other up-and-coming bands, Strange Karma is already a road-tested unit, having already performed extensively in their home country, as well as embarking on tours of both England and the US (including such Stateside hotspots as the Roxy, the Cat Club, and the Whisky A Go-Go). And if everything goes according to plan, Strange Karma will soon be performing the tunes off of VOLUME 1 on a concert stage in your hometown.

Additionally, word of mouth is already strong surrounding Strange Karma, as their near 100,000 friends on MySpace can confirm, as well as over 200,000 plays for the band via their MySpace site. The band has already received coverage on such respected hard rock/heavy metal sites as Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles, and you will soon catch TV spots promoting the band on VH1 in the US.

As Sally Steele from Vegas Rocks Magazine sums up about the band, “Every so often I come into contact with a band that stands above the others with a passion and drive that does not exist very often in this business. Such is the case with Strange Karma. It is rare that every member in a band is at the top of their game and shines like a star in their own special way but Strange Karma glows all the way in that respect.”

-GI Jams®, Popular Music Network That Highlights Military Musicians, Releases Its First Compilation Album GI JAMS, VOL. 1: THE ORIGINAL MUSIC OF OUR MILITARY ARTISTS On April 5

Hit Songwriters Denny Randell And Biddy Schippers, Creators Of GIJams.com, Debut Their First In A Series Of Compilation Recordings Featuring Top GI Jams Musical Artists

Songwriter/producer/artists, Denny Randell and Biddy Schippers launched their social music network and multi-media project GI Jams® in November 2009, as a way to spotlight and promote the musical talents of our active duty, Veteran, and reserve military artists of all branches, ranks, and rates.

The project’s web site, GIJams.com, provides the opportunity for military musicians to sign up and have their own profile pages featuring their original songs, performances, bios, pictures, and blogs plus downloads available for 99 cents a song with all profits going to those specific military artists.

The GIJams.com community has grown significantly since its start, as hundreds of military artists and writers have now joined, as well as the many of the artists’ fans and supporters, giving the organization the demand to release GI JAMS, VOL. 1: THE ORIGINAL MUSIC OF OUR MILITARY ARTISTS, the first in a series of compilation recordings to be issued by GI Jams Records. The CD will be released April 5 and will be available for sale online at the GI Jams Store, by direct artists’ sales, as well as at retail locations. All profits from sales of this nationally distributed compilation album go to the artists.

GI JAMS, VOL. 1: THE ORIGINAL MUSIC OF OUR MILITARY ARTISTS features 14 tracks by eight of the site’s most popular artists and bands (five still on active duty and three who are Veterans that served in Iraq, Kosovo, and Vietnam). All of these artists performed live in the 2010 GI Jams’ Veterans Day Weekend Show at The Cannery Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

The artists featured are (in order of their appearance on the album): Corey Bower (Air Force Airman 1st Class ), Adrian Manuel (Army Chief Warrant Officer), Jerard Brewer (Marine LtCol), American Attitude (Air Force Master Sergeants Shawn Watchorn and Marc Meyers and Technical Sergeant Chris Henderson, and Navy Petty Officer First Class Matt Smithers), Destruction Evolution (Veteran Air Force Master Sergeant Steve Sinatra, Veteran Army Specialist Richie Ibanez and band mates Jim Littleton, Chris Peng, and Donnie Nall), Vietnam Army Veteran Ric Ulsky, Dark & McDermid, (with Don Dark, Marine Vietnam Veteran who passed away while this album was being finalized, and band mate Rick McDermid), and Joe Speed Band (Army Sergeants Jeremiah Eaton and Nathan Harvey).

The album also features two bonus “Battlefield Music Videos” filmed in Iraq between active duty missions; one by the Joe Speed Band performing “Cowboy Soldiers (Please Send Me A Beer)” and the other by Blackhawk pilot Adrian Manuel singing “Freedom” while flying in his helicopter (a “first ever done” video).

Schippers says, “We know many people will want to purchase this extraordinary CD as a way to support the military and we’re excited that it’s so rich in musical talent and diverse styles, including great country, rock, pop-rock, and even some wonderful inspirational songs — something for everyone, and we can all support them while enjoying their very special music.”

Randell and Schippers, the project’s founders and co-directors, have been longtime supporters of those who serve us in the military and launched GI Jams as, “a special way to thank and give back through music, which has been such a big part of our own lives, to help and support those musically talented artists who — rather than pursuing their own musical careers — have given themselves to protecting and defending our country.”

GI JAMS, VOL. 1 is the latest step in their journey to give back, though the pair performed their own most recent Randell & Schippers dance and video hit “Alice In Wonderland” on the 2009 Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon in a medley with some of Denny’s classic hit songs, including “Working My Way Back To You” and “Let’s Hang On” — featured in “Jersey Boys,” the Tony awarded hit Broadway show, Smash Mouth’s “Can’t Get Enough Of You Baby,” “A Lover’s Concerto,” and “Native New Yorker,” Denny’s home town anthem.

GI Jams has to date been highlighted in both the mainstream and military media, from Reuters, CNBC, Billboard.biz, and Celebrity Twitter to top military publications including Military Times, Stars And Stripes, and Military Spouse, plus upcoming coverage from Salute Magazine, Big Blend Radio, and KJAG FM.

“It’s amazing that many of these songs were written in tents and barracks after difficult missions and many of these artists have told us that GI Jams has been an irreplaceable outlet for them while under those conditions — as is the feeling of appreciation they receive from all of us who support them.” Denny continues, “We can only imagine the kinds of stressful conditions our artists create under. And we are very excited to announce GI Jams’ release of this first compilation album to be able to present their great talent and have the privilege of sharing their musical passions with the world.”

Arrayan Path’s upcoming (third) album, which as already announced will be titled IRA IMPERIUM, will be released in September. The album will also feature a very special guest vocalist whose name will be revealed in April. “This guest appearance is quite special and we feel it deserves an announcement of its own so we’ll leave it for a little bit later…” as Nicholas Leptos, vocalist and main songwriter comments. So fans will have to be just a little bit patient!

Arrayan Path will have not one but two albums in a short period of time! Following the release of IRA IMPERIUM a new album will come out in early 2012. It will be titled STIGMATA and more details regarding that will be made available at a later stage. Both albums will be released by Pitch Black Records and die-hard fans can of course expect special limited editions for both albums.

The band has also made the move towards slightly modifying its name of over 10 years. This was done for obvious reasons and the fact that it became extremely annoying for all band members trying to convince others on the meaning of their band’s name. It was decided to simply add an extra “A” in “arryan,” thus changing the pronunciation and of course obliterating even the tiniest concern that Arrayan Path is in any way related to Nazism or any kind of racism or other extreme political views.

Commenting on this, Nicholas Leptos says that “this was always evident through our lyrics and live shows but despite our best efforts to try to convince people otherwise some still chose to look at it differently. What does the new name mean…? Absolutely nothing! The decision to modify our name wasn’t easy but we felt it was needed so there you have it. Arrayan Path’s music will remain in the same style and ROAD TO MACEDONIA and TERRA INCOGNITA will still be played live and will still be mentioned in our discography.”

The band’s second album, TERRA INCOGNITA, released in 2010 through Pitch Black Records, was recently nominated for IMPALA’s Independent European Album of the Year Award and Arrayan Path is already scheduled to make a number of appearances this year including the Ayia Napa Youth Festival in Cyprus (August), Germany’s Swordbrothers Festival in September, and a December show in Athens along with Atlantean Kodex.

-Led Zeppelin 2 Tour Recap; Band To Embark On Summer Dates

Led Zeppelin 2, the tribute band featuring bassist Chris Klein, drummer Ian Lee, guitarist Paul Kamp, and vocalist Bruce Lamont, recently wrapped up a hugely successful North American tour that hit nearly a month’s worth of cities and truly captivated fans with a flawless reenactment of the live improvisation and onstage interaction that earned Led Zeppelin their legendary status in the first place. Rather than a “greatest hits” show, Lamont and co allow fans to experience Zeppelin as Zeppelin would have played in front of an audience. LZ2 sold out venues across the US in 2010 and continued to draw rave reviews for a “spot-on” Zeppelin show, playing deep cuts and classic tracks from the entire catalog, and occasionally entire Led Zeppelin performances from specific dates.

Most widely recognized for his saxophone and vocal work fronting Chicago’s Yakuza, Bruce Lamont has contributed to a plethora of other projects including Bloodiest (featuring members of 90 Day Men, Sterling), Circle Of Animals (with Sanford Parker, Minsk/The High Confessions), and Sick Gazelle (with Eric Block and Sanford Parker). He’s also recorded with Sigh, East West Blast Test, Minsk, Nachtmystium, Rabid Rabbit, Brutal Truth, Cephalic Carnage, Sweet Cobra, Locrian, Hex Machine, and more.

Commented Lamont of the last round of Led Zeppelin 2 dates: “It was an amazing winter run. While every stop was an eye-opener for us, some of the highlights were sold-out shows in first time places like Corpus Christi, Ft. Lauderdale and a massive Austin stop (1,200+). San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Portland were also mong our faves (you too Boston, New York, and of course sweet home Chicago). We have summer fest dates on the way. Stayed tuned!”

In recent reviews, Timeout New York called LZ2, “the best Zep band going anywhere.” Timeout Chicago agreed: “There are a lot of Zep tributes out there, but this one’s our favorite, not least because its members fully immerse themselves in the musicianship and style of the four classic-rock heavyweights. That Yakuza howler Bruce Lamont does a mean Robert Plant is icing on the cake.” The Onion commended the band saying, “these imitators get the Led out in a way your battered copy of PHYSICAL GRAFFITI never will, right down to the unearthly tones of guitarist Paul Kamp’s bowed Les Paul solos. Sure, purists are still holding out for the real deal’s tour, but even if that happens, it’s doubtful that Robert Plant can wail the opening lines of ‘Black Dog’ as well as his Led Zeppelin 2 counterpart, Bruce Lamont,” while The New Yorker noted: “The band is on its way out of the minor leagues, and is now playing bigger venues for a generation of fans too young to have ever experienced the genuine article.” Even Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett is hooked stating simply, “these guys sound f*cking exactly like Led Zeppelin!” after seeing their L.A. performance.

Led Zeppelin 2 will be announcing a string of summer dates in the coming weeks. Stay tuned… In the meantime, check out some live footage of the band from their Chicago performance in January at http://www.earsplitcompound.com/site/?p=2371 . And don’t forget to visit the band’s official Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/LedZeppelin2/160726766419 .

More from the converted:

“…the closest thing to seeing the real Led Zeppelin.” — Dallas Observer

“…such authentic raw flair, the entire crowd bought it, no questions lingering… It was nasty… hard to believe how balls-out fantastic they are.” — Atlanta’s Backstage Beat

“It’s rare for a tribute band to tour across the country, but Led Zeppelin 2 are defying the norms… their stage mannerisms were exactly like the real Led Zeppelin… their song selection was perfect… a powerful yet beautiful performance. ” — Metal Assault

“These guys have LZ’s sound down to an artful science, plus the singer — Yakuza’s Bruce Lamont — even keeps his shirt unbuttoned onstage (details are important!). Guitarist Paul Kamp mimics Jimmy Page’s excoriating flourishes with panache, Chris Klein embodies John Paul Jones’ quietly spectacular contributions on bass and keyboards, and drummer Ian Lee replicates Bonzo’s dexterous bludgeoning — and he has a gong.” — Portland Mercury

“Hearing these Zeppelin songs live made me more aware of their true brilliance… all were expertly executed.” — HardRockChick

“Bruce Lamont and Paul Kamp (of Yakuza and Busker Soundcheck fame, respectively) and the killer rhythm section of Ian Lee and Chris Klein bill themselves as Led Zeppelin 2, and they do as good a Zep as Zep ever did back in the day.” — The Chicago Sun-Times

-Staggering Back

Staggering Back’s fresh new sound is a prime example of a true rock band. Their interesting rock jam music style, put together with well defined lyrics will definitely drive you on a wild rock groove.

Staggering Back hit the Baltimore Music scene in March of 2003 with a definitive new sound that has rocked the area since. The band consists of four members, Eric Butera on Lead Vocals and Rhythm Guitar, Russ May on Lead Guitar and Vocals, Korey Hershberger on Drums and Vocals, and Greg Gatto on Bass Guitar and Vocals, bringing many different styles and influences together to create an eclectic and energetic new sound that has not been heard in Baltimore for many years.

With a unique vocal approach born of his love for Classic Rock and good ol’ American Rhythm and Blues, Eric Butera fronts the band with a voice that is both a combination of seductive melodies and aggressive Blues influenced growls. He quickly adapted to the many different genres of Rock n Roll that has evolved into the sound of Staggering Back. His guitar playing is the prefect complement to both his vocals and the band itself. Sometimes slow and deliberate, other times wide open and awe inspiring, Eric is the perfect example of how to play adaptive guitar to complement an already accomplished vocal range that is one of the defining sounds of Staggering Back.

Russ May brings his highly disciplined Lead Guitar style developed from his early love of Metal and rounds it out with an innate ability to morph into any sound required of the band. Whether it be his blistering solos that reminds one of the legends that paved the way for true Rock n Roll, or his powerful riffs that have helped put Staggering Back on the map, Russ is the consummate showman reminiscent of the likes of Slash and Jimmy Hendrix. His stage presence is second to none, but his guitar playing is one of the most memorable and captivating styles that has ever graced the stages of Rock n Roll venues. Unflappable and direct, he attacks with his guitar in an assault that draws in not only the casual listener, but the true music fans that have followed this band from the start.

The man behind the drum kit is Korey Hershberger. What can you say about this man? Never before has so much power and aggression been packed into a drummer. His sound will shake the timbers of any room he plays, but it is his steady beats that are the backbone of Staggering Back. Heavily influenced by arena rock bands such as Kiss, his love of Jam Bands is clearly evident in his style. To watch him play you will see a constant blur of hair and drumsticks due to the fact that he will never be happy just playing standard drum chops. Korey plays his drums like he lives his life, Loud and In Your Face, and that what sets him apart from other drummers.

With the new addition of Greg Gatto on the Bass, he comes from a vast musical background bringing an energetic and advanced approach to Staggering Back’s already solid rhythm section. Having played in several local bands over the years, he comes to join the band bringing in a disciplined playing style, snug fit with the sound of Staggering Back. Influenced from Rock, Metal, Blues, and Funk he keeps up the deep end pounding out the grooves.

From four different styles and four different influences, the Staggering Back sound has evolved into what the members intended it to be. Hard, heavy, provocatively orchestrated and well thought out Rock n Roll. Staggering Back has truly accomplished their intentions. Their live show is organized chaos, loud yet melodic, a perfect blend of so many genres of Rock n Roll. Staggering Back has made a statement that bands who follow should heed. Rock n Roll should never be limited to a certain sound, it should embrace all era’s and genres, because in the end, Music should be played for all ages and for eternity. Staggering Back has lived this mantra and you will see they really are a band to be reckoned with. They have returned to the roots and brought back Rock n Roll.

“No intentions here to let you down”… Staggering Back

-Blood For Blood Talks Reunion And New England Metal And Hardcore Festival, Unveils Plans For New Album

WORCESTER, MASS. — After lying dormant for six years, Boston-based hardcore/punk band Blood For Blood will make their American return at this year’s New England Metal And Hardcore Festival on Friday, April 15.

The band has also announced plans to record a new record this year, their first since 2004’s SERENITY.

Blood for Blood reunited last year for the European Persistence Tour, which also featured Sick Of It All, Unearth, and Evergreen Terrace.

“The amount of letters from our fans were so overwhelming asking when or if we were ever gonna play again,” said vocalist Buddha. “It seemed now is the time to make our long overdue return. But, as always, we decide the terms as to what, when, and where Blood For Blood will play. We do what we want and we play ’cause we want to and not ’cause we need to.”

Blood For Blood 2011 consists of the longtime core of Buddha, guitarist Rob Lind, and bassist Ian McFarland, along with drummer Neal Dike.

Special guests Billy Graziadei (Biohazard) and Craig Silverman (Only Living Witness) will lend their guitars to live shows in Lind’s absence from the stage due to personal reasons. “We are pumped to have them join us on the road,” Buddha enthused.

Blood For Blood’s history began when kindred spirits Lind and Buddha met back in high school. “We were both consumed by a pervasive yet initially directionless hatred and hostility that went WAY beyond even the most troubled adolescent angst,” Lind explained. “Music spoke to this turmoil in me. And spoke for it.”

Lind found some solace in jamming with any and all musicians he could find, and his friend Buddha was right there along with him. “Eventually I started sticking a mic in his hand so he wouldn’t just have to stand there while me and some dudes did bad covers of Black Sabbath and The Anti-heros and Carnivore,” said Lind. “It turned out Buddha could sing and had a pretty distinctive voice even back then.”

The two fell out of touch for a brief period and fatefully found each other once again. The pair immediately reconnected and the seeds of Blood For Blood were sewn. After six albums, the band parted ways for a variety of reasons, from family to business ventures, but the bond the guys formed would never be broken.

“I realized something when I finally met up with them personally after four years or so,” Lind recalled. “One way or the other, for better or for worse, we’re a f**ked up family. I don’t mean that in some hardcore, tough-guy way. I mean family in the literal sense. When you’ve spent so much time together and have been through such intense experiences together, the collective experience transcends friendship and becomes something… larger, something immutable. Family is not necessarily a beautiful, rosy thing. Families can be the source of some of the deepest hatreds and conflicts and resentments. But at the same time, you are still family and nothing changes that. We’ve only just begun to do what we want to do again, but it’s been comfortable and easy and natural.”

Blood For Blood plans to begin work on their seventh full-length album for an undetermined label in the near future.

“I am sitting on more material than at any other point in my life,” Lind said. “Over the last five or six years, I crawled through darkness up to light. And I have many tales of dread to tell the kiddies. We intend to come back the way we always have after an absence… to write another chapter. That’s been the M.O. of Blood For Blood from the beginning.”

The New England Metal And Hardcore Festival will take place Thursday, April 14 through Saturday, April 16 at the Palladium in Worcester, Mass.

The event will feature two stages, with the Main Stage presented by Ibanez/Tama and the Second Stage sponsored by Artery Recordings. The first night of the festival will focus on up-and-coming bands, while the following nights will feature nationally-known acts from around the globe.

Mazur PR coordinates media inquiries and Metal Injection supplies fans with videos and interviews at metalinjection.net for a preview of all the bands. Jeremy Saffer from jeremysaffer.com and Aaron Peppelis from returntothepit.com provide all the official festival photos. This year the festival has also teamed up with a charity called Rise Above (weriseabove.org) to help children in Massachusetts get funding for them to learn instruments, play sports and go to events.

-System Divide To Kick Off Revolver Magazine’s Hell Hath No Fury Tour!

System Divide, who feature within their ranks vocalist Miri Milman (Orphaned Land), vocalist Sven De Caluwe (Aborted, Leng Tch’d, etc.), guitarist Michael Wilson (Abigail Williams), bassist Andrew Lenthe, and drummer Mike Heller, will return to the US later this month on the Revolver-sponsored Hell Hath No Fury Tour with In This Moment, Straight Line Stitch and Sister Sin! The tour follows the band’s successful stint through North America earlier this year with Eluveitie, 3 Inches Of Blood, and Holy Grail. System Divide will be touring in support of their THE CONSCIOUS SEDATION debut full-length released via Metal Blade last fall.

Commented Milman, who was featured in Revolver’s “Hottest Chicks In Hard Rock” issue and calendar at the end of 2010: “After a great run with Eluveitie throughout North America, we’re very excited to get back on the road as part of Revolver’s Hell Hath No Fury tour. It was an honor to be part of the magazine’s calendar and special Halloween issue and being on this tour makes the whole experience come around full cycle. We’re looking forward to going back to some of the places we played on our previous tour and perhaps recognizing some of the faces as well as meeting some new people. Get ready for some ridiculous amounts of ‘girl power!'”

“…weaving death metal, industrial, goth, and prog into an endlessly surprising sound.” — Revolver Magazine

“The music is extreme, diverse, original and holds a very high level. The band combines the best of Soilwork, Aborted, Lacuna Coil, Slipknot, and Bleeding Through to what nearly sounds like a seamless unit. De Caluwe goes ballistic while Milman’s catchy lines remind me of Deadlock front woman Sabine Weniger… everything seems to point in the right direction for System Divide to take the world by storm.” — Aardschok (Netherlands)

“…a razor-sharp, cacophonous smattering of all things metal, effectively melding elements of extreme, death, grind, and even some goth to produce a literal sonic explosion, one bursting with undeniable strength.” — StarPulse.com

“Milman’s vocals, especially in ‘Stagnant Progression’ and ‘The Apex Doctrine,’ are used perfectly to complement the complex array of sounds System Divide set up. System Divide remind me of Eluveitie in that they can write incredible death metal songs around epic themes and use female vocals to control the damage. 4.5/5” — TheNewReview.net

-Gernotshagen Reveals New Album Details!

The German Pagan Metal band Gernotshagen has just set the release date for their upcoming album WELTENBRAND at April 29, 2011. The band will release their new album through SMP/Trollzorn Records.

As you all know, patience is rewarded the more, the more long one can bear the waiting. As well as here: apparently endlessly long lasted it until these studious Thuringian Pagan Metal heros had placed its new album spectacle WELTENBRAND such brilliant ready. Yet the truly breathtaking gigantic musical goodness of this terrific epic grand masterpiece compensates even the most impatients among the fans of the East German horde in amply manner!

As to expect, Gernotshagen have developed powerfully forwards and that immediately in all conceivable creative concerns: therefore the participants fortunately did lift their output generally and so these new songs are their very best until now at all. Superficial critics, who reproach the heathen heavy metal scene again and again gladly, that Pagan Metal became degenerated to a bloodless and empty genre, get by means of WELTENBRAND such an extent fat and delicious feast pressed into the ears that it persistently deeply intoxicates the eardrums.

With the help of a really bombastically sounding top production, these frenetic heathen power songs are all too easily able to raise the swirled up senses of the listeners into highest appreciative heights. Actually the conviction-culprits Gernotshagen produced its new compositions such completed and such convexed arranged, that this fantastic album advances with a big blow quickly to an classic of German Pagan Metal. The heathen heros around the shockingly expressive strong and glorious changeable vocal-master Askan prove to be absolute top adepts, which makes out of the majestic WELTENBRAND an intense enjoyment matter with no loss or sign of abrasion.

The band is revealing now for the very first time the cover artwork for WELTENBRAND with the complete track listing:
