-AFM Records: Early 2011 North American Release Updates

German heavy metal powerhouse AFM Records have a long line of huge metal releases ready for North American release over the next several weeks including brand new full-length albums from Israeli metallic rockers Betzefer, Poland’s blazing old-schoolers Crystal Viper, Hungarian mosh metallers Ektomorf, Italian folk/power kings Elvenking, America’s cult speed metal unit Helstar, England’s thrash metal kings Onslaught and Germany’s alcohol-fueled ragers Tankard!

Read on for more in-depth details, official release dates and more for each of these fine albums.

After releasing two independent EPs and a Roadrunner Records-released self-produced debut album, Betzefer established their status as Israel’s biggest and most successful metal band, setting them up for extensive touring, and providing main support for the likes of Soulfly, Megadeth, Sepultura, Lamb Of God, and more throughout Europe. Their immediate success with the new foreign crowds quickly put them on the main stages of the big summer festivals. Back in Israel, the band grew even stronger and started crossing into mainstream awareness, headlining the rock stages of the biggest Israeli festivals and constantly earning more and more attention from the local media.

FREEDOM TO THE SLAVE MAKERS is Betzefer’s second full-length album and their most aspiring effort to date. It features dark and rich guitar sounds, a massive yet highly groovy rhythm section and impressively colorful vocals, all of which take the listener on a journey through the band’s inspiring songwriting style, ranging from solid rock ‘n roll riffage to epic ballads to relentless modern metal attacks. The album was recorded in the renowned Zaza Studios (Nick Cave, Tracy Chapman, Stevie Wonder) and produced by by Warren Riker (Down, Santana, Lauren Hill).

LEGENDS, the third full-length from Poland’s metal heroes Crystal Viper, will see North American release via AFM Records on February 22nd, 2011. Boasting powerful, authentic classic heavy metal born of ’80s giants like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, the early, epic Manowar and Running Wild, Crystal Viper’s strong, traditional songwriting combined with great authenticity and the overall “classic metal” feeling is sure to win over all fans of that golden era.

Crystal Viper are not only Poland’s most promising heavy metal band, they are on the jump to become one of the leading female-fronted metal bands. Singer Marta Gabriel not only has the looks, but also the stage talent and incredibly powerful voice, often drawing comparisons to the legendary Warlock with Doro Pesch on vocals. LEGENDS’ epic songs dive into mythological worlds of fantasy and mystery, presented by an authentic, blistering and enthusiastic band that will surprise many. The album also features guest appearances by Stefan Kaufmann (ex-Accept/U.D.O.), Mat Sinner (Primal Fear, Sinner) and Rhino (ex-Manowar), and the first edition of the album also features a cover of Accept’s anthem “TV War.”

Hungarian act Ektomorf shall release their new studio album REDEMPTION via AFM Records to North American audiences on February 22nd, 2011. Recorded at the famous Antfarm Studios with Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Dark Tranquillity, Heaven Shall Burn), REDEMPTION builds on the modern metal sound they’ve been known for over their previous releases, and showcases the band utilizing some new elements including acoustic guitars and clean vocals on the recording.

Ektomorf will embark on a European headlining tour this month with support from Brazilian thrash metal veterans Korzus and more. The band will continue to announce more tours and major European festival appearances throughout 2011.

Italian folk/power metal heroes Elvenking shall unleash their sixth full-length RED SILENT TIDES to North American masses on February 22nd, 2011, via AFM Records.

While Elvenking’s 2008-released TWO TRAGEDY POETS (…AND A CARAVAN OF WEIRD FIGURES) was a vastly acoustic album, RED SILENT TIDES shows the band returning to full electric sound, and also integrating more of an ’80s hard rock element that matches perfectly with the folk-infused power metal they are known for. Tracks like “Your Heroes Are Dead,” “Runereader,” and powerful opener “Dawnmelting” are all unmistakably Elvenking, yet the anthem-fueled “The Cabal” picks up right where their hit “The Divided Heart” left off in 2007, and it’s one of the standout and wonderfully creative moments of the album. But the newly integrated hard rock elements really burn through on “Possession,” “The Last Hour,” and “What’s Left Of Me,” which will undoubtedly surprise longtime fans. With the final album mix perfected by highly-acclaimed producer Dennis Ward, the end result is Elvenking’s most mature album to date, and a journey full of poetry, melancholy and empowerment.

Legendary American power metal act Helstar has built an incredible legacy. Their early album from the ’80s, BURNING STAR, DISTANT THUNDER, REMNANTS OF WAR, and NOSFERATU are classics of the genre, and even after a long break the band returned with full force in 2008 with possibly their best album to date, the mighty THE KING OF HELL.

Just two years after their glorious return, the cult Dallas, Texas act is preparing to unleash another powerful anthem for every diehard fan of U.S. power/thrash metal, with the release of their latest album, GLORY OF CHAOS. Set for release on German powerhouse AFM Records this February 8th, GLORY OF CHAOS is undoubtedly Helstar’s heaviest and most energetic album yet, boasting a fantastic, clear, powerful sound, bearing the band’s trademark sound, and yet remaining fresh to longtime followers of the act. As always, legendary vocalist James Rivera remains as one of the most charismatic and impressive voices in the metal scene, having also spent time fronting Vicious Rumors, Seven Witches, Destiny’s End, and Distant Thunder. The first edition of the release also includes two bonus tracks, as Helstar covers the tunes “Heavy Metal Thunder” (Saxon) and “Animal Magnetism” (Scorpions).

England may not be the first country that comes to mind when discussing thrash metal, yet, it’s hard not to think of Onslaught when mentioning legendary bands of the genre. POWER FROM HELL (1985) and THE FORCE (1986) have a well deserved place in the collection of any old school metal fanatic and the British quintet continues to release quality thrash records.

After a 15-year hiatus, Onslaught returned in 2007 with the triumphant release of their KILLING PEACE full-length, featuring the high-speed thrash attack Onslaught is notorious for. The record was a fist in the face of anyone who deemed the Brits dead.

Now in 2010, a new chapter begins, as Onslaught are prepared to release their fifth studio album SOUNDS OF VIOLENCE. Due for North American release on February 8th, 2011 via Germany’s AFM Records — right in time to celebrate this cult band’s 25th anniversary — the album falls perfectly in line with KILLING PEACE, yet broadens the classic Onslaught style once again, helping the band maintain an original edge. Recorded and produced in the renowned Hansen-Studios (Destruction, Heathen, Mercenary), the blazing record boasts ten brand new original tracks, as well as a cover of Motörhead’s classic “Bomber,” featuring guest appearances by Phil Campbell (Motörhead) and Tom Angelripper (Sodom).

Tankard formed in the early ’80s, virtually launching a massive wave of German thrash bands who have since become household acts worldwide, including Kreator, Destruction, Sodom, and more. While a lot of these other acts have struggled, breaking up and reuniting over the years, Tankard have never experienced these problems, maintaining their status for nearly 30 years now, delivering one strong album after another. When you think of beer and thrash metal the name Tankard is the first that should come to mind…

Tankard’s brand new aptly titled 14th studio effort VOL(L)UME 14 will be on tap in North America on February 22nd, 2011 via AFM Records. Containing ten booze-soaked hymns of course showcasing the band’s alcoholic homage, Tankard also follow their thrash roots, addressing socio-political topics as well, especially on the track “Black Plague (BP)” which blatantly addresses the giant BP corporation’s obvious greed and recklessness with this year’s oil disaster in the Gulf Of Mexico.

This album is for every fan of top notch classic thrash metal, and its solidifies the fact that Tankard are one of the most unique bands of the genre. Break out a case of beer and destroy your house to VOL(L)UME 14!

AFM Records is distributed in North America by E1.

-Sweden Rock Updates

[Note: This compiles several updates. – Tim]

June 8-11, 2011 in Solvesborg

Thin Lizzy To Sweden Rock Festival!

Scott Gorham * Brian Downey * Darren Wharton * Vivian Campbell * Ricky Warwick * Marco Mendoza

Thin Lizzy was one of the prime hard-rock bands of the ’70s. During the years with legendary vocalist/bassist Phil Lynott at the helm, i.e. 1969-83, the band produced innumerable classic tracks like “Whisky In The Jar,” “Boys Are Back In Town,” “Jailbreak,” “Don’t Believe A Word,” and “Cold Sweat.” Songs with a unique combination of groove, melody and ingenuity. No reunion was ever made before Lynott’s passing in 1986, but ten years later the surviving members of Thin Lizzy’s final lineup decided to start playing the classics again, under the old moniker. The lineup changed several times, and in 2009 Thin Lizzy seemed to face permanent dissolution. But no. May 2010 marked the band’s official return in its strongest incarnation for a very long time. Namely former Thin Lizzy members Scott Gorham (guitar), Brian Downey (drums), Darren Wharton (keyboards), and Marco Mendoza (bass), along with guitarist Viv Campbell (Def Leppard, ex-Dio) and singer Ricky Warwick (ex-The Almighty). Saying that Thin Lizzy are welcome back to SRF would be an understatement, the legend is back with a vengeance!

Morbid Angel To Sweden Rock Festival — Only Show In Sweden This Summer!

The legendary American death metal band Morbid Angel are not only recognized as illuminaries within their own genre, but as an influential force for metal music as a whole. The troupe from Florida are one of the true veterans of metal of the more brutal kind: the band was formed in 1984 and debuted with ALTARS OF MADNESS in 1989; an album that over the years has won many polls regarding the best albums of extreme metal. The band’s core trio of bassist/vocalist David Vincent (who left the band in 1996, but returned in 2004), guitarist Trey Azagthoth, and drummer Pete Sandoval recorded three more albums with different rhythm guitarists — BLESSED ARE THE SICK, COVENANT, and DOMINATION — and all three stayed true to the band’s roots while still finding new musical paths to walk. The band’s music is bludgeoningly energetic, raw and brutal, but also technical, exacting, and intimidatingly consistent. A characteristic for the band’s sound is David Vincent’s potent vocals: a combination of a brutal, classic growl and a cleaner, more potent voice. Trey Azagthoth and Pete Sandoval have won several magazine polls for best guitarist and drummer, and they are prominently featured in more “technical” magazines. So anyone who finds the whole genre a bit too hard on the ears, but finds it interesting to watch masters of their craft at work should give Morbid Angel a chance. And for those who like the genre this is a true feast waiting to happen. Be prepared for an onslaught of death metal classics from the band’s first four albums, and maybe even a new song or two. The gig at Sweden Rock Festival will be the band’s only show in Sweden this summer.

Hardcore Superstar To Round Off Wednesday Night’s Party At Sweden Rock Festival 2011!

Once they were regarded as a glam band, actually somewhat suspicious for “real” metalheads. Today Hardcore Superstar is one of the most successful and respected bands on the Swedish metal hard rock scene. The turning point was the band’s eponymous, eventually classic album from 2005. It was succeded by three more highly successful albums, most recently last year’s SPLIT YOUR LIP. The band, who descibes their music as a synergy between thrash and sleaze, is also a standing favorite of the SRF crowd’s. In other words, prepare for a crowd gone wild when the band will round off Wednesday, June 8, and classics like “We Don’t Celebrate Sundays,” “Dreamin’ In A Casket,” and “Wild Boys” join forces with fresh faves as “Sadistic Girls” in one great party mix.

Wanna Feel Like Being Hit By A Freight Train? Five Horse Johnson To Sweden Rock!

Five Horse Johnson from Toledo, Ohio definitely ranks among the fastest rising stars on today’s stoner rock scene. Their eclectic influences, from the blues in particular, have merged into a highly original sound, not without its references to Clutch. Actually, Five Horse Johnson’s singer and harp player (!) Eric Oblander play harmonica on the latest Clutch album. Five Horse Johnson themselves have so far released six albums since 1996, and now the time seems right for the band to rise above underground status.

Five Horse Johnson will play June 8!

No Gravity are a new progressive metal band from guitarist Simone Fiorletta (Moonlight Comedy / solo) who see the release of their debut album WORLDS IN COLLISION on Lion Music on March 18th, 2011.

With a lineup of vocalists Michele Luppi (Killing Touch), Andy Kuntz (Vanden Plas), Fabio Lione (Rhapsody Of Fire, Vision Divine), Roberto Tiranti (Labyrinth), Mark Basile (DGM), and Emiliano Germani (Moonlight Comedy) the debut album WORLDS IN COLLISION certainly lives up to the promise of Fiorletta’s original vision.

Borealis Sign To Lion Music — New Album FALL FROM GRACE Released May 20th, 2011

Lion Music are delighted to announce the signing of Canadian power metallers Borealis who will release their new album FALL FROM GRACE on May 20th, 2011.

With soaring vocals, lightning fast guitars, and a rock solid backline, Borealis is bringing leather back, and dragging power metal up with it. It’s been that way from the start for these Canadian guys: all or nothing, and it shows in their music.

Musically Borealis leans towards the classic power metal sound, not too far removed from bands such as Evergrey or even Savatage in their prime, but also the more progressive bands like Vanden Plas or Dream Theater springs to mind here and there. It’s all about energy, aggression, melodies and finesse — and Borealis has it all in spades.

With an independently released debut safely in the bag, the band took it upon themselves to give ProgPower USA one heck of a kick-start when they visited the world famous festival in September of 2010, and with a 45-minute set comprised of songs from both the upcoming disc FALL FROM GRACE as well as the debut made sure all 1100 people in attendance would leave with a positive memory of Borealis.

Their forthcoming offering FALL FROM GRACE is sure to see the buzz generated by the band’s performance at ProgPower USA reach a larger audience worldwide on May 20th, 2011.

Full release information to follow shortly.

Twinspirits – LEGACY Out February 18th, 2011

Lion Music Promo Page w/ Streaming Audio

Italian progressive metal band Twinspirits return with their third album LEGACY on February 18th, 2011. LEGACY takes all the best aspects of the band’s previous two releases and adds a heavier dynamic and more cohesive sound thanks to a fixed lineup, the same that delivered the highly praised THE FORBIDDEN CITY and spent time on the road promoting that release.

LEGACY marks the second album of vocalist Göran Nyström in the band, and his voice delivers another commanding performance over the material penned by band mastermind and keyboardist Daniele Liverani. Guitarist Tommy Ermolli takes a heavier role this time round whilst the rhythm section of bassist Alberto Rigoni and drummer Dario Ciccioni hold down the complex patterns with precision.

LEGACY is divided in two main parts. In the first part we have six powerful straight-ahead songs, still being progressive in nature and with a more direct feel to them than has been heard from the band before. The second part of the album is a multi suite movement, “The Endless Sleep,” divided in five songs (symphonic intro + four songs) that is more like an album within an album being very theatrical and visionary.

On the album’s lyrical slant Liverani comments, “Lyrically the first six songs are independent to the suite, and are cover subject, including personal experiences, thoughts about life in this era, and different kind of reflections of human beings into this modern world we are living in.

“The second part, the suite, is covering a concept story that runs through a journey that the main character is undertaking after a premature death, whereby he’s discovering a role that he’s involved in after he passes away, and the meeting with a superior entity that is giving him a sort of second chance to get back to the human life to accomplish a human rescue mission as a second millennium messiah… a very struggling story that will be revealed part by part of ‘The Endless Sleep’ 30-minute suite. The key points of the concept are in part ‘I’m Leaving This World’ where the main character describes the moment he passes away and his extra body experience, the song ‘Legacy’ where we have the relationship between him and the superior entity that is explaining his new role in the afterlife, the songs ‘What Am I Supposed To Do’ is a very moving moment where he meets his parents while he’s back to human life temporary, and the final part ‘Tell Me The Truth’ continues the description of the relationship of the main character with his afterlife guide mentor.”

Twinspirits will be getting back on the road in spring 2011 promoting the new album with a tour and some European festival appearances.

A promotional video for “Slave To This World” was released in January 2011 and has won strong praise from the bands fan base and beyond. View it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckU0hL_awKY .

After so many rumours emanating from sources claiming to be in-the-know we thought it best to let John Blaze of Arabia put the record straight once and for all, so here’s Johnny…

“Hey gang, John Blaze here. So, there has been a ton of talk about what’s going on with Arabia. All I can say is for those of you who hung in there, thanks for the overwhelming support. I receive countless e-mails and well wishes from all over the globe and it’s awesome that the first Arabia record 1001 NIGHTS made such an impact. Well, here we are some years later and I am still alive and well in NYC. The member lineup had changed several times and nothing was really clicking for me. Recording became a freakshow of events but ultimately, I found a grove with great guys who shared my musical tastes. Out of the rubble of posers and freaks, after a few years of tortured and pain — finally a new Arabia record is due to emerge. So, I had to call it WELCOME TO THE FREAKSHOW because that was its journey. The new record will come out around May/June of 2011 via my label Z Records and then I am planning to come back overseas and kick some ass. Again, thanks for the support and we’ll see you real soon. We’ve already started writing the next Arabia record ETERNITY which we are going to schedule for a January/February 2012 release. Arabia rocks and we’re back bigger and better than ever.” -Blaze

Specials: the legendary voice of Mike + The Mechanics with a solo album of unreleased material!

Paul was born in South Manchester, England in June, 1947, and soon became a well-known and much loved “Wythenshawe lad…”

He formed his first group Johnny Dark & The Midnights in 1962 whilst still at school, and very quickly made a name for himself as a front man and lead singer… so much so that following an appearance at a local hall, he was invited to join the now legendary beat group The Toggery Five.

The Toggery Five were to share the same management as the then very famous Hollies, and they went on to sign with Parlaphone Records, and released two excellent singles, which are now both rare collectors’ items.

Paul later left the band and went on to form Paul Young’s Toggery, and then performed on the cabaret circuit with ex-Toggery Five guitarist Frank Renshawe, as a double act… yes… they were called Young & Renshawe!

Paul was also a short time member of British beat group The Measles in 1968, and later became known in various cooperative bands such as Rhythm & Blues Incorporated, and The Electric Circus.

The early 1970s saw Paul as a solo artist signed to CBS Records, before teaming up with Ian Wilson from Greasy Bear to form Gyro, a popular local rock band on Manchester’s buzzing live music scene… Gyro were later to become involved with a project led by composer/engineer/producer Davy Rohl, who put together Mandalaband and released two excellent albums featuring many Manchester musicians, including Paul and Ian. Gyro & Mandalaband joined forces around 1977 and became one of Manchester’s best live bands Sade Café. The band released FANX TA-RA in 1977 to critical acclaim, and an extensive catalogue of material was to follow, most of which was penned by Paul, and several singles which “Everyday Hurts” climbed to the top of the charts and albums emerged from Polydor, A&M, Chrysalis, and other record labels until the band finally broke up following POLITICS OF EXISTING in the mid-1980s before he went on to join Mike Rutherford (Genesis), and become a full-time member of Mike + The Mechanics in 1985.

Paul was to remain with Mike + The Mechanics with many hits under his built and tour the world until his untimely death in July 2000, following sudden heart failure.

A few years after he passed away, unfinished material he had been working on was recovered from his home studio, a total of 35 songs, some of which have since been carefully recorded and completed by musician friends and collaborators who had known and worked with him… so now, after more than 10 years, we are to hear these “NEW” recordings for the very first time, will be released by Escape Music, which means that for Paul Young fans everywhere, the dream is still very much alive!

Lineup of “Grace Of God” duet with Paul Carrack (Mike + The Mechanics):

Guitars: Mike Rutherford (Mike + The Mechanics), Graham Gouldman (10cc), Eric Stewart (10cc), Martin Kronlund (Salute, Gypsy Rose), Victor Emerson (Sade Café), Michael Byron Hehir

Myland’s new album titled LIGHT OF A NEW DAY is featuring a new lineup:

Hox Martino – guitar
Fabian Andrechen – bass
Davide Faccio – Keyboards
Franco Campanella – vocal

Paolo Morbini (ex-Eva, Exilia, Brunorock) has a long experience with many Milan’s area rock bands performing original material and cover repertoire from most famous rock bands of the world. Early ’90s Paolo worked in Milan for the most important Musical Academy in Italy and there he met brothers Stefano (keyboard) and Marco Andreasi (guitar) who were also huge AOR/melodic rock fans just like Paolo was and still is. Guido Priori (vocal) and Adalberto Rizzoli (bass) also played in many Milan’s rock bands and were also Paolo’s oldest buddies and sometime they jammed at various rock venues performing songs of Toto, Journey, and Survivor.

After many years of playing live (around 2,500 shows as of today), Paolo decided to record the first debut album MyLand. The album was written, arranged, mixed, and produced by Paolo Morbini himself. The band decided to bring in their most important melodic rock musical influences, trying to capture the sounds as much as live they can and concentrate their efforts on melody lines, powerful chorus/ vocals, and instrumental parts as well. To the fact that MyLand still remains a project, all the members are busy with other bands on the road, even though Paolo has already written some new original material for a second MyLand album.

In 2007, the band released NO MAN’S LAND which was mixed by Marco Barusso at Massive Studios in Milan and features also some great special guests: ex-Europe guitarist Kee Marcello, Swedish guitarist wizard Tommy Denander (Chicago, Toto, Richard Marx, Paul Stanley etc.), keys master Alex Del Vecchio (Edge Of forever, Glenn Hughes), Italian metal hero guitarist Steve Angarthal (Fire Trails), and chorus voices by Lia Kant.

At the helm of the video making his directorial debut was Thomas Meyer. Guitarist Dan Durakovich is stoked about the release and premiere of Clandestine’s new video:

“Friends and fans have been waiting some time for this thing to come to fruition and finally, here it is. A huge thank you to director Thomas Meyer for owning this thing with every bit of his soul.”

Recently Bloody-Disgusting.com premiered another track from THE INVALID entitled “Fracture.” Check it out:

Clandestine and Nightmare Records have also confirmed that they will be offering the digital version of the album at a fan friendly price of $4.99. THE INVALID will be available at this special price at iTunes, Amazon, Nightmare, and all other major digital retailers.

Clandestine’s ultimate goal is combining diverse influences and styles that mark a new generation with an unnamed creation while striving to provide a sonic link from the past to the future. Their fierce and melodic style creates a bi-polarity of music that is its own enigma…

Clandestine is a truly unique band, combining progressive rock with female fronted metal, a touch of electronic music that enhances the futuristic timbre, and some smooth huge pop melodies. THE INVALID is a must for fans of bands as diverse as Evanescence, Dream Theater, Fair To Midland, Rush, Lacuna Coil, Tool, and Between The Buried And Me.

What more can you ask for?

Please find below the text info for The Hot Rails’ new album SINGLE ENTENDRE.

“It’s a staggering, belching, belligerent joyride through late-’70s garbage metal and post-Guns sleaze rock…”
– Classic Rock Magazine, UK, February 2011

Band: The Hot Rails
Street Date: Out Now
Genre: Rock/Hard Rock

If the Hot Rails lived in their proper decade — the Excessive ’70s — their liner notes would be the tale of a winding discography lost to the winds of stoned history, now championed by victorious historians.

The penultimate ’70s hard rock band featuring blazing guitar riffs, twin lead guitars shredding seamlessly through chuggin’ rhythms: The Hot Rails are an unapologetic, head-banging salute to the days of American beers, cigarettes, naked lady mud-flaps, and rock ‘n’ roll. This is not to say they are a throw back or an homage, but more a continuation.

Having somehow managed to bring their booze-addled antics across the Midwest and down to DIY SXSW Festival 2008 and 2010, threatening to drive audiences and the band themselves to the brink of deafness, if not annihilation. Having played shows with a wide variety of acts from Ted Leo and the Pharmacists to Gil Mantera’s Party Dream; L.A. Guns to The Electric 6 and from Mooney Suzuki to Fastball; these superheroes of rock are looking to increase their loyal audience of rock lovers while continuing to create more hard driving rock ‘n’ roll.

The Hot Rails neither condone nor condemn, neither celebrate nor take caution. They are the high spark of low brow.

Ken Janssen: Vocals
James Thunderfalcon: Guitars
David Ryder Paolucci: Guitars
Nick Licata: Bass
Charles Druesedow: Drums

Please find below the text info for the new hot n’ sweaty album TOO RUDE TO BE COOL.

“Loud and enjoyable, heavy slide guitar, the kind you’d hear from early ’70s Nazareth. Hot, sweaty, gritty and a little shouty at times. Definitely worth a listen” – Get Ready To Rock, UK

Band: Backstage Heroes
Street Date: April 2011, UK
Genre: Sleazy Rock N’ Roll Fury

About Backstage Heroes:
The Backstage Heroes were born in 2008 in the dusty County of Turin Rock City, after the reckless agreement between Mohicano (guitars) and Dany Disgrace (drums) with the intention to build up a rough rock ‘n roll band deriving from the wild American punk’s abandoning, with the most cruel sound of neighbourhood, inspired by glorious bands as Guns N’ Roses, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Motley Crue, and influenced by modern sleazy-rock background from north-Europe (Hardcore Superstar, Backyard Babies, Velvet Revolver). It did not take long after that to find Lory Cruel (singer). This was a compromise between Chasteness, Wildness, and Mental health… three important features that the band desperately needs. The Rock-N-Roll combo was only complete when Miro Jayme, Handsome Stallone with the four-string bass guitar joined the band a few months later.

Standard bearer of the hot backstage cliche, they soon set up their theatre of horrors. And they also set up more than 110 shows in a little bit more than two years, and make important opening act for big Rock names as Vains Of Jenna, Crazy Lixx, Adam Bomb, Last Vegas, Innocent Rosie, and much more…

In September 2008 their first EP called STONE COLD CRUEL, with its blazing drumming and its super-vitamin-enriched rock ‘n’ roll, became the most hot business card of the rock ‘n’ roll band of the neighbour web. In the end of 2009, the great drummer Cris Crow, join the band replacing Dany Disgrace at the drums, getting the band ready to record its first album that finally see the light in May 2010. TOO RUDE TO BE COOL is the result of the honest, sweated rock attitude aquired by the band after two intense years of activity. The Backstage Heroes’ sound is featured by the immoderate riffing, portentous rhythmics, rhetorical splendours of the early ’90s glam metal bands and their “heavy” interpreting accent of the most classic Rock ‘n’ Roll matrix. That contributes to modernize their sound — remarkable scenic impact, exciting live shows!! What else?

Cris “Crow” – drums

11. Die For Me

TSM are delighted to announce the new release from Ohio-based newcomers Encore.

Please find below the text info for the new album OUT THE WINDOW.

“When a band features two young members it is easy to dismiss them. But this band are different. 15 year old Riley Beaire plays a mean guitar and produces strong and heavy solos. Sleazy hard rock, think Rose Tattoo without the slide guitar. Or if Motley Crew actually learnt to rock.

“But even more impressive is the vocals from 11 year old Chase Beaire. While he may be a way off his potential prime (and a few years too), he still packs more power and range than some two or three times his age. Impressive indeed. The band are completed by bassist Paris Stewart, with additional drums form Scott Cain.

“The rhythms are basic, but strong. The music isn’t that intricate, but it is solid rock ‘n’ roll with honesty and talent that does strike you. ‘Born To Rock’ does nod to Led Zeppelin.

“Def worth checking out.” – Get Ready To Rock, UK

Band: Encore
Label: Thundercage
Street Date: Out Now
Genre: Classic Rock

About Encore:
Encore is a band totally different than most that are out there performing. This band consists of 11 yr. old Chase Beaire who is a dynamic individual as a well as a natural performer. Chase has been around music from the time he was born and has seen and heard his father at many rehearsals and live shows. Chase now has the pleasure and the opportunity to do the same thing he saw his father doing his entire life. When you watch him perform and you hear his polished vocal abilities, you will be amazed that this is all coming from an 11 yr. old kid.

His Brother Riley Beaire (15 years old) is the guitarist of Encore and he was around the music scene and has been brought up on being a performer his whole life as well. Riley made the decision from the time he picked up the guitar that he would master the art of being a true musician who plays from the heart not the head.

Riley is the main songwriter but he welcomes ideas from band mates with an open mind. He has to be heard to be believed!!

The third member Paris Scott Stewart on bass, is a very experienced musician in his own right. He not only playes bass for Encore but he also has his own original acoustic solo project that he enjoys doing live shows with. Paris is the newest addition to Encore and he is welcomed with open arms because of his abilities to adapt to any performing situation. Encore’s live shows are full of energy, creative song writing and these boys are always happy to mingle with the crowd after the show… To them it’s all about meeting new people to share their music vision with.

Encore has played steadily for the past two and a half years doing shows with entertainers such as Lou Gramm, Steadlur, Aranda, The Last Vegas, Mini Kiss, and many more. Encore has headlined all the local area’s outdoor festivals and some indoor venues as well.

These boys have already decided that they will be very successful in the music industry, and with their positive attitude and goal oriented mindset, it is assured that they will reach the level of success that they deserve.

Encore would like to thank Scott Cain for his excellent drum work in the studio.

The tour drummer Trevor Baker has also been a great addition to the Encore lineup.

“Second album from this young band which is largely Rock ‘n’ Roll, but has some country, southern rock and AOR influences that are are pure Boston but at the raunchy rock ‘n’ roll end of AOR.
