-20th Anniversary Edition Of Queensryche’s EMPIRE To Be Released In September

[Note: This is from EddieTrunk.com. – Tim]

The 20th-anniversary edition of Queensryche’s most commercially successful album to date, EMPIRE, will be released in North America on September 14th through EMI Music. In addition to the original CD re-mastered with bonus tracks from the 2003 reissue, EMPIRE – 20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION will include a bonus disc of a live concert from 1990.

The track listing is reported as follows:

Disc 1 (original CD re-mastered with bonus tracks from 2003 reissue):

1. Best I Can
2. The Thin Line
3. Jet City Woman
4. Della Brown
5. Another Rainy Night (Without You)
6. Empire
7. Resistance
8. Silent Lucidity
9. Hand On Heart
10. One And Only
11. Anybody Listening?
12. Last Time In Paris
13. Scarborough Fair
14. Dirty Lil Secret

Disc 2 (live tracks recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon, London on November 15th, 1990):

1. Resistance
2. Walk In The Shadows
3. Best I Can
4. The Thin Line
5. Jet City Woman
6. Empire
7. Roads To Madness
8. Take Hold Of The Flame
9. Silent Lucidity
10. Hand On Heart

The fourth full-length album by Queensryche, EMPIRE was released on August 21st, 1990. The power ballad “Silent Lucidity” was a cross-over hit, reaching #1 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks and #9 on the Billboard Hot 100, which helped the album reach triple-platinum status. The songs “Jet City Woman,” “Della Brown,” and “Another Rainy Night (Without You)” create a miniature concept album within the first half of “Empire,” as they are linked by audio effects that bring the listener from one audio background to another seamlessly. “Empire” could arguably be included within this series, as the song begins with voices on an answering machine (as are also used in “Another Rainy Night”), though its subject is more of a stretch to relate.

-Tarot’s Marco Hietala: “I’m A Science Fiction Freak”

Highwire Daze recently interviewed Tarot bassist/vocalist Marco Hietala and discussed being band mates with his older brother, former Nightwish singer Tarja Turunen, the band’s upcoming live North American debut this fall at ProgPower USA XI, and science fiction. On the latter issue and how it pertains to song inspiration, Hietala shares:

“[The track] ‘Magic And Technology’ is one which I kind of enjoyed writing. I’m a science fiction freak, so I really love spaceships and the things that we, too, will do in the name of progress and technology. But there’s a real sense of losing yourself in this fast paced world that we live in with all the computerized stuff and the Internet. And some people have lost themselves in that. You’ve probably read about the Korean guys who played themselves to death ( http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/article553840.ece ) in online playing war games they don’t remember to eat or drink or sleep and they die in front of their screens. So yeah, these are weird things.”

Tarot’s GRAVITY OF LIGHT entered the Finnish album chart at #2.

Tarot will be performing in North America at this year’s ProgPower USA XI festival in Atlanta, Georgia in September.

THE DEED IS DONE! The new Grave Digger album has been recorded and mixed! Together with new member Axel Ritt on guitars, the band entrenched themselves from mid-May to mid-July at the Meadow Studios of Axel Ritt and the Principal Studios, the place all Grave Digger albums have been recorded since HEART OF DARKNESS in 1995. Mixed by Jörg Umbreit and produced by Chris Boltendahl, THE CLANS WILL RISE AGAIN will lead the listeners back to the Scottish highlands.

Chris Boltendahl, Jens Becker, Stefan Arnold, HP Katzenburg and Axel Ritt offer an explosive mixture of the typical Grave Digger riff metal, combined with awesome epic & catchy refrains, which will fascinate the fans from the very first note. THE CLANS ARE BACK FOR ATTACK!

THE CLANS WILL RISE AGAIN is a loose sequel of the TUNES OF WAR album, but this time not a concept album about the Scottish history, rather a work about Scotland, it’s mysticism and it’s people.

Paris Keeling Bios

Marty Paris
Marty Paris, co-founder of Paris Keeling and featured guitarist, is best known for creating the Skulls Project — a collaboration of independent musicians in Hoboken, New Jersey. Their last project First Rites, was released in 2005 and several of the tracks on Paris Keeling’s END OF RIDE REVISITED including “Color Blind” and “Tears Of Heaven” have their roots in that project. He also was a member of the band Pamlico Sounds dating back to the ’80s. Not only was Marty instrumental in creating Paris Keeling and in his roles as Executive Producer and writer/co-writer of eight tracks, but much of END OF RIDE REVISITED comes from his vision. Most of the album was recorded at Marty’s Studio 55 in North Carolina.

In 2005, Kelly released his first solo album GIVING SIGHT TO THE EYE. It is with great pleasure on the eve of the band’s debut being released that we are able to announce that D’Ercole signed a multi-album contract extension on July 19th. Z Records MD Mark Alger commented: “D’Ercole are a great bunch of lads with major talent, it’s a pleasure to extend our dealings with them and hopefully we can get them the recognition they deserve.”

Lead Singer Phil Vincent made the following comment regarding extending D’Ercole’s stay with Z Records: “It is with much excitement that we, D’Ercole, are letting everyone know we will be extending our stay with Z Records and have signed on for two more releases through 2012. -Vegas Rocks! Magazine Awards To Honor Local And Legendary Rockers

The Inaugural Event Is Set For Sunday, August 22 At The Las Vegas Hilton Featuring An All-Star Line Up Of Guests Including Motorhead’s Lemmy, Dee Snider, Flavor Flav And Many More

The first-ever Vegas Rocks! Magazine Awards will be held Sunday, August 22, 2010 and will take place inside the original home of rock, The Elvis Showroom at the Las Vegas Hilton. Honoring local and legendary rock artists, the show, themed “I Wanna Rock,” will feature an all-star jam capped off with a performance by Dee Snider.

The event marks the six year anniversary of Vegas Rocks! Magazine and will be Las Vegas’ own first real rock awards show, hosted by the “Publishing Queen of Rock n Roll” and Vegas Rocks! Magazine Founder/CEO, Sally Steele.

“I wanted to bring Las Vegas its own, true rock awards. We’ve been fighting to keep rock n’ roll in the mainstream media for six years now,” Steele says. “We’re not here to keep up with the flavor of the month; we’re here to celebrate rock n’ roll, whether the artist had a hit ten years ago or are on the charts today doesn’t matter. They have a place in Vegas Rocks! and at this event.”

The Vegas Rocks! Magazine Awards is presented in conjunction with Rick White, Vice President of the Las Vegas Hilton and music industry legend Jerry Greenberg. Steele comments, “We are very excited about holding the show in the original home of rock n’ roll, The Elvis Showroom at the Hilton. It makes it that much more special. Rick White made this all possible, along with all the great people at the Las Vegas Hilton.”

Sponsors of the Vegas Rocks! Magazine awards include Dollar Loan Center, Desert Honda, Nothing But Skulls, XPOZ Supporting A Smoke Free Scene.

The awards will be preceded by a Grand Rock n’ Roll Royal Red Carpet media event with appearances by some of the biggest legends in rock music, including Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead, James Kottak from The Scorpions, Glenn Hughes of Deep Purple, Flavor Flav, Dee Snider and many more.

The show will feature a dozen local awards including Best Rock Band, Best Punk Band, and Best Metal Band. Snider will receive the Rock n’ Roll Savior Award; Lemmy will accept the Vegas Rocks! Lifetime Legend Award; The Scorpions will receive the Rock Group Lifetime Achievement honor; Flavor Flav will get a Best Rock Clock in the Universe Award and Hughes will accept the Inspirational Icon Award.

“I feel I can do the show justice, from being involved in rock n’ roll all my life,” Steele added. “I was taking pictures of Black Sabbath and Deep Purple when I was 13. I’ve dedicated my life to being a fan and also an entertainer. I started the magazine to keep the music I care about alive and loud and let the world know what’s happening in rock n’ roll and Las Vegas today.”

Also appearing will be Athena Lee (Tommy Lee’s sister), Paul Shortino (Rough Cutt / Quiet Riot), Jake E. Lee (Ozzy), Ron Keel (Keel), Jimmy Crespo (Aerosmith), and Otis Day (from Otis Day and The Knights from “Animal House”).

Other celebrities set to present, perform or attend include Thomas Ian Nicholas from the “American Pie” films, who is also a musician; Nick Oshiro (Static X), Tony Franklin (The Firm), Chris Frazier (Whitesnake), Kerry Simon (Celebrity Chef), Mario Barth (Celebrity Tattoo Artist), Gregg Giuffria (Giuffria), Steel Panther and Zowie Bowie.

This night to remember for rock n’ roll will be filmed and broadcast at a future date TBA.

“Really, it’s about recognition for the artists I love,” Steele adds. “They aren’t always getting that recognition. And I’m here to fight for it!”

Tickets are on sale now at the Hilton box office at (702) 732-5755 or at http://www.lv.hilton.com .

Changes, Weather, Etc…

We know many of you came out to see us at Glendale Hts. Fest and we got rained out. Typically we try to still play if the weather is poor, but if lighting or wind is too dangerous we must cancel for the safety of all. Most of the times we are not the ones who make the decision to play or not. But we apologize for any shows that get canceled. One other note, as everyone in Chicago knows the “Transformers 3” movie is being shot all over Chicago right now. Due to conflicts on street closures the festival we were to play this Saturday called “Streeterville Fest” is canceled. Also the afternoon city fest we booked for Sat. July 31 is canceled due to schedule conflicts so we will be at Des Plaines Augustfest that night.

Shows, Shows, Shows….

-Moog Synthesist Virtuoso Erik Norlander Continues To Support Bob Moog Foundation

Donate $25 To Bob Moog Foundation To Receive Norlander’s Latest CD Offering: THE GALACTIC COLLECTIVE

“…there is edginess of all types here on the album and in the arsenal of both musicians and keyboards… THE GALACTIC COLLECTIVE is another milestone in Norlander’s career.” – ytsejam.com

EL DORADO HILLS, CA — Erik Norlander is many things to the world of synth-driven symphonic rock. He is a maestro at the keys, a composer, producer, synth designer and a sterling band mate and colleague to many in the music industry. For a limited time only, the Bob Moog Foundation will offer his new CD, the very Moog-centric THE GALACTIC COLLECTIVE, with a donation of $25.00 to the BMF. Norlander’s most recent CD release includes insightful liner notes from Michelle Moog-Koussa where she speaks to Norlander’s connection to Bob Moog, the synthesizer pioneer whose namesake inventions revolutionized popular music in the late 1960s and ’70s. Here is a sampling from those introductory notes: “It is said that in hands of the highest caliber, the use of technology becomes magic. Not pull-a-rabbit-out-of-a-hat magic, but awe-inspiring transcendental connection. Bob handed off his technological, musical baton and Erik Norlander has cradled it in his hands, skillfully, lovingly exploring the limits of sonic expression and incorporating it into his expressive, epic music. Magic.” Each $25 donation supports the Bob Moog Foundation’s mission to educate, inspire and innovate through electronic music. To donate $25, please visit this link: https://secure.groundspring.org/dn/index.php?aid=11672 . All donations are tax deductible.

Erik Norlander’s THE GALACTIC COLLECTIVE CD was released by Chian Productions on March 27, 2010. THE GALACTIC COLLECTIVE is a fresh and innovative take on the best of Norlander’s vast instrumental catalog written for Rocket Scientists, Lana Lane, and his own solo albums over the years. The versatile keyboardist recorded the CD with an astounding array of classic analog synthesizers, Hammond organ, and a Steinway grand piano at Cleveland’s Magnetic North Studio with engineer Chris Keffer (Syzygy) and executive producer Dena Henry. Musicians included bassist Mark Matthews, drummer Nick LePar, and a cadre of stellar guest guitarists including John Payne (Asia Featuring John Payne), Mitch Perry (Asia Featuring John Payne, Michael Schenker Group) and Mark McCrite (Rocket Scientists) along with leading Ohio artists Freddy DeMarco and Ron Redfield.

-MVD Gives Fans The Opportunity To Film And Interview Iggy And The Stooges At The All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival

“In The Hands Of The Fans” Video Series Is Born

On Friday, September 3rd 2010, Iggy and the Stooges are putting themselves “In The Hands Of The Fans”…

MVD Entertainment Group has launched the site http://www.InTheHandsOfTheFans.com/ to offer fans a once in a lifetime opportunity to film and interview Iggy and the Stooges performing the seminal punk rock masterpiece RAW POWER at the All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival on September 3, 2010. Six lucky fans will be chosen by way of a video submission contest to join director Joey Carey on location at the Stardust Theater at Kutchers’ Country Club in Monticello, NY. This marks the reunion between Iggy Pop and powerhouse guitarist James Williamson as well as original Stooges drummer Scott “Rock Action” Asheton. Also featuring Mike Watt on bass and Steve Mackay on saxophone.

The contest is based on fans submitting short high definition video segments asking Iggy and the Stooges interview questions, or demonstrating why they should win the contest. Winners of the contest will film and interview Iggy and the Stooges at All Tomorrow’s Parties. This fan shot footage, along with the contestant video submissions, will be crafted into a high definition longform program, which will be part concert film and part reality TV show about the journey of the fans.

“RAW POWER is one of the greatest, most dangerous albums in the history of rock and roll,” says Ed Seaman, C.O.O. of MVD Entertainment Group. “We are honored to enable the fans this connection with the band; this will be a dream come true for the winners.”

“In The Hands Of The Fans” will be sustainable as a series; MVD is already deep in discussions with a number of other artists and expects to have five more programs shot within the next six months with new announcements expected any day.

The final program for Iggy and the Stooges “In The Hands Of The Fans” is expected to release on DVD, BluRay, digital download and broadcast by early 2011. All contestants will receive a special offer to purchase the film early along with some exclusive value added content.

-Beyond The Labyrinth Releases Video Clip For “Oceans Apart” Single!

Synopsis: Boy Meets Girl — But how deep is the water?

…for a special song, Beyond The Labyrinth (BTL) dreamed up a special approach…

When trying to visualise “Oceans Apart,” a powerfull classic rock ballad, it quickly became obvious that the storyline was right there, in the lyrics of the song. Working out the storyboard for the video clip, it started to lead a life on its own…

So, instead of preparing to put it on video, the storyboard was laid out in a comic book format.

The A-Ha experience?

…and that’s where people say “Aha, like in the A-Ha video clip?” The answer being “No, not really, actually more like in the Prince – ‘Sign O’ The Times’ video” — but please read on…

Most images used in the comic book are based on pictures by (BTL singer) Jo De Boeck, an accomplished photographer. After the layout of the book was ready, two things happened:

– The comic book was sent of to the printer to be printed in two copies (one original, one backup copy) to be used in a live action shot.

– The images, text bubbles, etc. were exported to seperate files for the compositing in Final Cut.

The action (person reading comic book) happens in real time underneath the text bubbles, it was artifically aged with a special “old movie” filter to give an effect of timelessness, as timeless as the song’s subject and the music. On top of that, straight from the computer’s hard disk; came the seperate comic strips, treated with a soft focus filter for that “dreamy” effect.

The result is a great looking, original video clip with appeal to a large audience.

The clip can be found on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbhYJWQ2ANE or on the band’s Facebook site.

(Local music TV station) TMF already accepted its submission the same day it was put on YouTube — more TV stations to follow!

Band: Laudanum Forest
Album Title: THE ASYLUM
Label: Laudanum Forest
Street Date: Out Now
Genre: Psychedelic Pop/Progressive Rock

Laudanum Forest is an alternative pop rock band, formed in 2007, Antwerp, Belgium.

Started off as a studio project for three artists from different bands (Mondegreen, Zeno, Side Traffic and IZL.): Patrick Vrancken (drums, bass, guitars), Stefan Saenen (keyboards, vocals, guitars), Stefan De Cauwer (lead guitars).

The main challenge for the three founding members was to blend their different styles and tastes into songs that would satisfy all three of them. This resulted in a first album, THE ASYLUM (2008), a musical mix of alt rock, sixties psychedelica, new wave and progrock.

Due to the positive response they received on music Web sites, Laudanum Forest became their main project and a new band member, the Italian web designer Marco Galliano, joined them to take care of the Web site and to help out on Internet affairs.

The second album, DIGGING THE BASEMENT was released the same year (2008) and contains songs from before the actual birth of Laudanum Forest, written and recorded for Side Traffic, IZL and Mondegreen, some of them co-written by Tony Torfs.

A third album, a collaborative effort with various artists, is expected to be out in the second half of 2010.

The band is now working on new songs for a concept album.

Though Laudanum Forest wasn’t originally meant to become a live act, many are asking to see live performances and thus two new band members have been invited to join in to work out a way to present live versions of songs: Sven Stoelen (guitar) and Wannes Vinck (bass). Whether the band will work out a full live set will depend on how much their fan base will grow.

Band Lineup:
Lead Vocals / Keyboards / Acoustic Guitar: Stefan Saenen

-In Rock’s Darkest Hour, Who Will Stand Against The Axis Of Emo? Only King Hell!

The Epic Defenders Of Metal And Funk!

Samwell – Vocals

Possessed of a 666 decibel voice, Samwell is heavy metal’s champion superhero. He had a pacemaker implanted — just so he could set it to 11. “Purveyors of feckless twee-rock be warned: I will totally smite you with my two horned anvil, strip you of your fathers’ cardigans, and burn Dio’s name into the lenses of your oversized nerd glasses.”

Zigabot – Bass

The only escaped clone of Dr. Funkenstein, Zigabot rumbles the junk in yo trunk with the elephantine bass tones booming from his 69 inch woofer. He takes parties to new levels with his roof raising bionic afro, and hypnotizes ladies with his solid diamond platform shoes. “People, I will turn this mother out, as I have turned out all your mothers.”

Doc Thompson – Vocals

Spitting hot lead and smokin’ vocal melodies, Doc Thompson is music’s gangster avenger, punishing crimes against rock. No fake angst or blatant example of bogus bed-head goes unanswered by his Tommy gun, “Wendy O.” “I aim to put a bullet through any album with more than 50% songs about girlfriends.”

Mötherfökker (AKA Möfö) – Guitar

A vigilante from a post-apocalyptic future ruled by a cyborg Justin Bieber, Möfö has traveled back in time to battle the insidious forces of Radio Disney. “Die Zukunft der drecksack Justin Bieber und Mickey Maüss Klub ist invertiert. Dröhnen Schwein!” (Editor’s note: Möfö speaks only Future German. No translation is possible as this language has yet to exist.)

Shille-Lee – Drums

Hitting the skins with a pair of nunchucks, Shille-Lee is Earth’s foremost (well, only) master of Irish Kung-Fu, which consists mostly of drinking Guinness and meditation. He would contribute a quote but A) he doesn’t speak, and B) even if he could, he’s too busy playing drum solos upside the heads of wave after wave of attacking ninjas.

Legendary “gonzo journalist” Hunter S. Thompson made up his own adjective to describe the ultimate of something: “It was the king hell of all parties!” No doubt, the late great author of “Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas” would feel the same sense of visceral energy if he’d had the chance to check out King Hell, the furious and funky, intensely tongue-in-cheek, indie powerhouse named after his turn of phrase.

Get a taste of King Hell’s comic-book-come-to-life stage show in the video for the track “Brooklyn,” shot at the Gramercy Theater in New York City. View the video here!

-The 2009 Tour Video Collection Now Online, Featuring Ryan Bartek & Downtown Brown

20 video shorts from the BOATS & HOES/BACK FROM THE DEAD tours

5 Week National Campaigns – Feb/March 2009 & August/Sept 2009

…Straight from the Horse-Asses Mouth (a.k.a. Dr. Ryan Bartek)…

During the vortex-like aftermath of “The Big Shiny Prison” & desperately needing some road junkie hijinks it just sort of happened — an impromptu ROCKUMENTARY on Detroit’s Experi-Punk/Funk titans Downtown Brown shot frantically across the U.S.A. throughout 2009.

After a frost-bitten three day Greyhound voyage from Seattle to Detroit in February ’09, Downtown Brown vocalist/guitarist Neil P. picked me up from the desolate Detroit terminal & flashed his slick new hi-def cam. What started as a merch gig soon became a sprawling odyssey that was to last 10 weeks in total. A trail of unfettered chaos soon engulfed us, leading us on a mesmerizing spiral of confusion in which we are still not sure what really happened.

In the bizarre shuffle we found ourselves attacked by a Rape Dungeon Gorilla, interviewing N.Y.H.C./metal legend Billy Milano (S.O.D.), sleeping on the floor of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s keyboardist, hanging with the best white (twin) rappers in the world Wax & Herbal T, penetrating the defenses of The Alamo, playing comedy clubs, anarchist communes & Los Angeles Greedpits, getting shut down live by douche-bag hippies, and even shooting a music video with Phil Thomas Katt (mastermind behind YouTube green-screen sensation Mark Gormley). See for yourself @…

Also posted (in uploads) are clips from the first ever Jack Cassady live performance (a little shaky, admittedly, but still charming).

Downtown Brown will be playing select dates on the Van’s Warped Tour this summer and are currently working on a new album. If this is the first you’ve ever heard of them, Downtown Brown are of a mutant class their own, jamming a hybrid of punk/metal/funk & rock that cannot be pigeonholed.

And besides this tour footage I now promote, there are hundreds of vids on DTB’s YouTube channel from past tours/live shows, music videos & public service announcements. Check them out here…

by Stephanie Davison (Zatanna7@comcast.net)

These days, being in a band is hard. Metal is such an overcrowded scene. There are so many bands out there, one can’t possibly listen to them all. As a reviewer, it is my job to sift through f*ckloads of albums, thoroughly listen to them all, and give my input. After hearing so many bands, they all start sounding the same, at which point, I’m craving some ingenuity! Bands tend not to be “original” or “unique” as they often like to describe themselves. They list other bands that influence them as “inspirations” but this is a misnomer. It should be more like, “band we ripped off,” or “band we tried to sound exactly like.” And so on and so forth. In a word: disappointing.

So when a band comes along that is TRULY something different from the rest, you get excited about it. Out of all the bands I have reviewed, interviewed, or heard about one way or another, Ana Kefr is one that stands out from the rest. Yes, take my word for it. To call them hardworking and determined is a gross understatement. Since their debut album in 2009, VOLUME 1, they’ve gone on to release a single and are assiduously working on their next album. This is evidence of a talented and successful band — and part of that success is due to a rapidly growing fan base.

And that brings me to my main point of discussion! Now, we are familiar with street teams, which is always a fun way to support a band. You do this because of your dedication to the band — you feel more connected to the cause. Well, then, you can’t deny that being even closer than that would be wickedly cool, right? (Nod your head; yes, yes, very good!) Ana Kefr recently launched a street team campaign, dubbed, The Ana Kefr Militia. You can join it on Facebook. There is a main group, but then there are individual groups or “chapters” for states and cities with an increasing fan base. There’s discussions, photos, updates, links, you name it. And the band members are active on the threads, so fans and friends can all interact, share and spread the word.

And this is not just your average, ordinary, run-of-the-mill street team. Ana Kefr considers those actively promoting the band as extended family. They truly love their fans. They will even send out Ana Kefr demos, flyers, etc. to anyone who is willing to propagandize AK — for free! And you’ll reap awesome rewards, “…as long as you post pictures and evidence to the Militia, showing that you are really out there doing noble work, we will thank you in the liner notes in our next album, and send it to you for free after signing it and throwing in stickers and other goodies.” – The Militia

So, of course I’m doing my part to spread the kefr word. Wouldn’t you — if it were a band you really liked? It’s so important to be supportive of what you like, because that is what helps ensure that your favorite band stays afloat amid the overcrowding sea…

So, I’ll be street teamin’ it. If you’ve been living under a rock, and haven’t been graced by the mellifluous music of Ana Kefr, check ’em out here. And if you like them, show them some love and enlist in the militia. I’ll see you there!

-I thought Kiss looked and sounded good on Leno the other night. I read the blurb at Blabbermouth, and then for some reason started reading all the comments beneath it. Egads. People are STILL arguing who’s better, Kiss or Aerosmith, and some dude was ripping on Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons for their on-stage wigs and a few extra inches around their middles. Good God man! These guys have been at it for nearly 40 years and we’re still getting hung up on this stuff? Boggles the mind. Anyway… I also saw something cool at Kissonline — there’s a photo of some store’s Dr. Pepper display, where the dark and light colored 12-packs are arranged in a pattern that looks like Gene’s Demon makeup. TOTALLY AWESOME. On the other end of the Awesome Spectrum, though, is the price of the meet & greet package on the band’s current tour: over $800. Oof…

-I interviewed former Scorpions drummer Herman Ze German Rarebell at the Hard Rock Hotel here in Chicago last week. It went very well, and we talked mostly about his two new releases: the solo album TAKE IT AS IT COMES and the “audio book” CD MY LIFE AS A SCORPION. Look for my write-up next week.

-Dunno why but the Edenbridge bit caught my eye with the mention of the “German Media Control Charts.” I know I’ve seen that term before but it just seems so…harsh. “VEE shall kontroll all da media!” Or not… 🙂

-Finally saw “Hot Tub Time Machine,” and I have to point out they were playing a BulletBoys song released in 1988, even though the movie was set in 1986. 🙂

-In my current playlist: Halford – LIVE IN ANAHEIM – ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK (Metal God Records), Herman Rarebell – MY LIFE AS A SCORPION (Pegasus), Arryan Path – TERRA INCOGNITA (Pitch Black Records), Haken – AQUARIUS (Sensory).
