-Accept Announces Release Dates For BLOOD OF THE NATIONS

There is no question: Accept is the hottest hard rock outfit of the modern age! No other band has caused more recent discussions worldwide than the metal pioneers from Solingen/Germany!

In 2009, Accept announced their comeback with new lead singer Mark Tornillo (former TT-Quick). The only question left was if the return of the German metal legend would be successful. Right now, there is no doubt!

Accept recorded their new album BLOOD OF THE NATIONS with producer Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Machine Head, Exodus, Arch Enemy, Nevermore) at Backstage Studio in Derbyshire, England.

In early 2010, Accept signed up with the famous metal label Nuclear Blast and confirmed their first warm-up shows.

The first show at the Gramercy Theatre New York sold out in no time. It was an unforgettable event and a confirmation that the legend has returned! After listening to first song snippets of the upcoming album, the German rock magazine Rock Hard signed booked Accept for a show at their “Rock Hard Festival 2010.” Accept blew fans away. Their is no doubt in the minds of fans that Mark Tornillo delivers 110% as the new singer for Accept. The concerts that followed in Lithuania, Russia, Finland, Sweden, and London affirmed the band again and again.

On the May 25, 2010 Accept performed as support for AC/DC, rocking 70,000 people in Hannover, Germany! Another show is set to happen on June 13, 2010 in Stuttgart, Germany.

Playing live is just one part of the success story. The first video “Teutonic Terror” became the most seen video on MySpace and entered the MySpace video charts at number 1! 250,000 people watched the video on other online channels since the video was released one month ago.

Even Twitter couldn’t survive the Accept-mania upon us! A Turkish Accept fan revealed a system bug, by using the word “Accept,” which put the portal out of action for 48 hours! Media all over the world such as The New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and Der Spiegel (Germany) reported on the proceedings!

The release of BLOOD OF THE NATIONS is about to happen! The record contains everything you expect from a legendary Hard ‘n’ Heavy Metal act: blazing guitar riffs, dynamic solos, fascinating melodies, and, of course, great lyrics!

On the 20th of August 2010 European fans can purchase Accept’s brand new album. BLOOD OF THE NATIONS hits stores in the U.S. on the 14th of September 2010!

Accept are back to regain the metal throne!

Band: ZZG
Label: None / Independent
Street Date: 02/02/2010
Genre: Classic Rock, Progressive Rock, ’70s Style Rock

Australian band ZZG was formed in 2007 by guitarist and singer Daniel Roberts along with bassist Keith Matthews. “We had a desire to write really cool guitar and bass hooks that people would still have stuck in their heads hours and hours after hearing the music. The riffs of Deep Purple were our benchmark here.” Our philosophy has generally remained unchanged, though our music has evolved to include a progressive rock element.

In 2008 drummer Craig Birnie and guitarist Stuart Mitchell joined ZZG each bringing their own unique feel to the band. Craig’s light touch has lent an air of accessibility to the music making it appeal to a wider audience than would have otherwise been possible. Stuart brought more modern tones and further added to the progressive rock feel that the band had been gravitating towards. Stuart balanced the old world rock feel with his own unique guitar sound including harmony lines and the unusual synthesizer like sounds of guitars played through a bass wah pedal.

ZZG’s debut album, TRAPPED IN THE MIRROR, is a self-recorded and produced album and was recorded to have a particular ’60s-’70s period sound. Daniel’s voice has been described as having David Bowie and Peter Garrett elements while musically the album may be said to reflect the influences of Deep Purple, Van Halen, Yes, Pink Floyd and many other classic period musicians. Happy, sad, angry and reflective, this is an album of many moods: from the playful bluesy ditty “Tom Go To Bed” to the more reflective “Floydian Slip” and the social commentary of “Prozac Nation.”

The cover art for TRAPPED IN THE MIRROR was crafted by popular Russian surreal artist Alex Andreyev.

CD Availability

ZZG – TRAPPED IN THE MIRROR is available online now through CD Baby at http://www.cdbaby.com/Artist/ZZG , CD Universe, iTunes, Amazon, Armstrongs online Music Store at http://www.ausindie.com/ , and other online distribution.

Band: Mac Blagick
Album Title: RAMADAWN
Label: Glen Ghost Records
Date: 02/01/2010
Genre: Hard Rock

The quartet Mac Blagick rehearsed for the first time in May 2006, two weeks later the first gig was played and in June their debut album was recorded. The self-titled album was released on Glen Ghost Records in May 2007 followed by a German tour and selected performances in Sweden. That fall the follow-up RAMADAWN started to take shape. However it would take till the beginning of 2009 before it was mixed and mastered. In February 2010 it was released on Glen Ghost Records.

Sjödin and Ekblad started collaborating in the late nineties in their then present hometown Eskilstuna. In 2002 they moved to Uppsala for studies, which led to new connections, and they formed the heavy trio Aska with the drummer Ingo Blomkvist. Blomqvist was unfortunately disabled which led to the reformation of Aska to The Boom Boom Band, a loosely put together blues band which only toured Finland and the Baltics for a year. During this short time many drummers passed through but one distinguished himself, Kristoffer Widman. The Boom Boom Band was dissolved and a new trio was formed in wintertime 2006 with the name Blues Magick.

Shortly thereafter Martin Wiberg from the Uppsala funk band Mac Attack was invited for jam sessions and the quartet Mac Blagick was a fact. All four shared a vision of creating something new with influences from traditional jazz, hard rock and tenebrism. The bands debut consisted of ideas from both The Boom Boom Band and Aska.

Currently Mac Blagick is working on their third album.

Band: Fyeld
Genre: Metal
Release Date: Out Now

Fyeld established themselves as the most successful and hardest touring modern metal band in Bulgaria in the past seven years. With close to 150 concerts in Bulgaria and Romania they managed to get a solid following among the open minded metal fans and shifted almost all 3,000 copies of their first album FYELD (2003) only on home ground which was and still is an exceptional achievement for a metal group in Bulgaria and were also chosen as one of the bands supporting Slayer and Halford in 2002 and later Anthrax in 2003.

The heavy rotation of their single “I Scream” which stayed in MM TV’s (Bulgaria’s first music television) weekly chart for eight straight weeks voted by TV viewers (the only metal song to that) led to nominations for “Best Rock/Alternative video” and “Best Rock/Alternative album” at MM’s Annual Music Awards show.

In 2004 Fyeld was the only metal band to go on the “Music Against Drug Trafficking” tour with some of the most famous pop and hip-hop stars in Bulgaria passing through eight of the country’s biggest towns! The same year they parted ways with their former label Joker Media and began working with Stain studio.

After a long hiatus in 2007 they started recording their new album NOT BLOND ENOUGH TO SURVYVE THE HOLOCAUST. Creative differences led to the departure of their second guitar player but the band found a replacement shortly after. With developing heavier and distinctive sound Fyeld released a radio single called “Rolling Spawns” in April, 2008 which quickly rose to N. 1 position at “Tangra Mega Rock” radio’s Tuborg Top 40 chart. Additionaly it got serious rotation on “Z-Rock” radio station and its video is regularly aired on MM TV. A month after the single’s release the band started a mini-tour in rock clubs across the country bringing their own definition of metal (which the band calls “dirty grooves”) and energy to the excited fans. They also managed to play at the first “Spirit Of Burgas” festival, sponsored by MTV and nominated among the 15 best European festivals for 2008. Later in the year due to increasing requests from fans wanting new music from the band Fyeld decided to release a new single with Bulgaria’s biggest metal magazine called “Pro-rock.” The issue contained the song “Beefinger” and its video plus a short film about the quintet. The song was present in “Z-Rock” radio’s daily Top 10 chart voted by fans and its weekly Top 40 chart.

The band managed to secure a support slot for another major band and on May 30th opened for Guano Apes — hand-picked by the Apes themselves! The new album was released on September, 19th, with Fyeld opening for Crematory and Evergrey and was voted “Best Bulgarian album” in the beginning of 2010 in “Pro-rock”‘s annual reader’s poll. The radio single “40 Years In The Desert” preceded the album reaching number 1 in “Tangra Mega Rock” radio’s chart again and number 3 in “Z-Rock” radio’ weekly chart. The band toured extensively across Bulgaria promoting the album with first leg in the fall of 2009 and a second in the spring of 2010 with another guitar player change in between. Fyeld’s categorization defying mixture of aggressive Machine Head/Downset-esque singing and rapping-meets-hard-hitting-riffs in the style of early Korn and Helmet mixed with groovy big beats electronics is the core of uncompromising attitude set to extend the boundaries of modern metal.

Band: Nail
Label: Mole Records
Street Date: May 14, 2010
Genre: Progressive heavy rock/metal

Nail is a Canadian progressive heavy rock/metal band. After spending several years performing with Canadian multi-platinum recording artists Helix, Nail was formed in 2007 by Rainer and Cindy Wiechmann after their departure from that group. Nail presents a sound that is a considerable departure from the ’80s “Hair Metal” rock sounds one would associate with Helix, having roots and influences more likely associated with groups like Rush, Black Sabbath, and Tool. Stylistically Nail is difficult to categorize as there are few if any groups that combine these elements with female vocals, effectively putting the group into a category of their own.

2007 saw the release of the first self-titled album which was met with many positive reviews and made its way onto several “best of” lists from international reviewers. Catchy musical hooks and lyrics combined with skilled musicianship and arrangements that are “progressive” in nature but still easily accessible set the standard for the “Nail” sound. The live concert performances also include co-ordinated video presentations which combine into a sensational entertainment experience.

May 2010 now sees the release of the band’s sophomore album, POWER AND GREED, which continues in this vein, and so far has seen excellent reviews. Produced and engineered by producer/Nail guitarist, Rainer Wiechmann, whose many past studio credits include associations with artists, such as Kittie, Helix, Blood Of Christ, Thine Eyes Bleed, and dozens of independent releases over the past 20 years.

Although the Nail lineup consists of veterans of internationally successful recording/touring acts, the group is currently unsigned and remains independently managed, seeking industry label/management representation.

Lead Vocals – Cindy Wiechmann

Band: SnakeStorm
Label: Kabuki Records
Genre: Rock
Street Date: April 24th, 2010

Cowbells and a singer frothing at the mouth, three packs a day at least, tumbleweed flying around and a chupacabra sucking the blood of goats. Ridden with disease, balls to a brick wall and shredding guitars to accentuate the sh*t storm stemming from the nuclear bass and pounding drums.

Tapping from the well that fed Judas Priest, Accept and possibly even old Metallica, this loud quartet from Sweden have begun to spread like nuicance but it’s a good thing. Whether you like your rock and roll with an extra nut or not, the chance of you banging your head to the sound of a f*cking SnakeStorm is far too great to imagine on a rainy day.

This is the evolution of Elvis Presley!

“Swedish rockers SnakeStorm are causing a stir at the moment with their in-your-face rock. Some of the songs here bare resemblance to the old band Union Underground with the vocals half shouted. Motorhead is another band that could be an influence, especially in the attitude. SnakeStorm does have a lot of attitude, kind of like Danko Jones and proves that even though the songs might not be brilliant, give them the right doze of attitude and they might shine.

“A little negative side is for me is that the songs tend to sounds quit similar from time to time. When the band speeds up the tempo it really makes a difference and ‘Clean Cuts And Leather’ is a really good song that brings back the L.A. sleaze era. Although I must say that it is hard to put this band into a specific category of rock. There are hints of straight up rock, metal, thrash and punk all mixed together. Maybe Turbonegro would be a good comparison. Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster is another band with a similar sound, especially the vocals. The vocals are one thing that I like, but I cannot listen to over and over again as they gets a bit stale to be honest.

“If you like you rock filled with attitude you must check this out. It is a quite impressive debut album, one that shows great promise for the future. With the rock scene in full bloom I see no reason why we should not still talk about Snakestorm in the coming years.” – Melodic.net

Ember’s Flame is a modern/classic rock band hailing from Helsinki, Finland. The band was founded in 2007 by guitarist Teme and bassist Pete who wanted to make rock music they really like, a bit of ’70s and ’80s rock mixed up in year 2010 blender. The songs are tough, melodic and very catchy; something like Hanoi Rocks meets H.I.M. meets Volbeat. Song writing is one of Ember’s Flames best skills.

The music and sound of Ember’s Flame will attract people who have a taste for classic rock music, just add a spoon of modern rock and you get a pretty good idea of Ember’s Flame sound.

Paul McCartney has his 68th birthday coming up on June 18th. Or does he?

MVD Visual announces the release of a film from Highway 61 Entertainment — PAUL MCCARTNEY REALLY IS DEAD – THE LAST TESTAMENT OF GEORGE HARRISON — for North American distribution on September 1, 2010. Wienerworld will release the DVD in Great Britain and Europe with subtitles in Spanish, French, and German on October 4, 2010.

The following description of the film is provided by director Joel Gilbert of Highway 61 Entertainment:

In the summer of 2005, a package arrived at the Hollywood offices of Highway 61 Entertainment from London with no return address. Inside were two mini-cassette audio tapes dated December 30, 1999 and labeled THE LAST TESTAMENT OF GEORGE HARRISON. A voice identical to Harrison tells a shocking story: Paul McCartney was killed in a car crash in November of 1966 and replaced with a double! British intelligence, MI5, had forced the Beatles to cover up McCartney’s death to prevent mass suicides of Beatle fans. However, the remaining Beatles tried to signal fans with clues on album covers and in songs.

Until now, the “Paul is Dead” mystery that exploded worldwide in 1969 was considered a hoax. However, in this film, George Harrison reveals a secret Beatles history, chronicling McCartney’s fatal accident, the cover up, dozens of unknown clues, and a dangerous cat and mouse game with “Maxwell,” the Beatles’ MI5 handler, as John Lennon became increasingly reckless with the secret. Harrison also insists that Lennon was assassinated in 1980 after he threatened to finally expose “Paul McCartney” as an imposter!

Highway 61 Entertainment has corroborated most of George Harrison’s stunning account of the conspiracy to hide McCartney’s tragic death. Harrison’s complete audio tapes narrate this film that includes all the newly unearthed evidence. THE LAST TESTAMENT OF GEORGE HARRISON may prove to be the most important document in rock and roll history, leaving little doubt that PAUL McCARTNEY REALLY IS DEAD!

-Legendary Guitarist Robby Krieger Set To Release New Solo Album SINGULARITY On Oglio Records, June 29th, 2010

LOS ANGELES, CA — Robby Krieger returns with a new instrumental solo album, SINGULARITY, on Oglio Records, a Fontana/Universal distributed label. On SINGULARITY, Robby continues to explore his unique flamenco infused jazz-rock sound as heard on his previous album for Oglio Records, CINEMATIX. SINGULARITY was produced by Robby Krieger and Arthur Barrow, features an original Krieger painting as the cover art and will also be available on vinyl.

“SINGULARITY was named after my painting which we used for the album cover. A singularity is a profound event such as the ‘big bang,’ which was the creation of the universe. I could have started with something smaller, such as, say the destruction of a galaxy or two, but I figured what the hell. Hopefully, the music evokes thoughts along those lines. I’m very happy, that after all these years I was able to record some flamenco guitar, which comprises the intros for two of the songs, ‘Russian Caravan’ and ‘Event Horizon.’ I’m also very happy with some of the slide guitar such as on ‘Southern Cross’ and ‘Waterslide.’ – Robby Krieger

During his time as The Doors guitarist, Robby wrote some of the band’s best known songs including “Light My Fire,” “Love Me Two Times,” “Love Her Madly” and “Touch Me.” He was also voted in at #91 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists Of All Time and in 2009, Robby partnered with the Gibson Guitar Corporation to release his very own limited edition signature guitar, the “Inspired By Krieger SG.”

Robby Krieger rejoins his fellow The Doors member, Ray Manzarek, who also released his own solo record, LOVE HER MADLY on Oglio Records, in their group Manzarek-Krieger for a new tour beginning May 27th.

-Metal Blade Signs Slovenian Thrash Metal Kings Negligence!

Metal Blade is proud to announce the signing of the Slovenian Thrash Metal Kings Negligence!

Negligence was formed in 2000 by Dyz and Jey, two excellent Slovenian guitarists who shared the same passion for music and decided to start working together. They soon found a proper and stable lineup and played lots of shows in their homeland Slovenia including a gig at the infamous Metal Camp festival. Between 2003 and 2005 they also released three unnamed demos.

2005 marks a turning point in the history of Negligence when they parted ways with their old singer and presented the 15-year-old Alex as their new front man. The band gathered a bigger fan base and in 2007 Negligence independently released their debut album OPTIONS OF A TRAPPED MIND. The album opened many new doors for the group and got a good reception amongst metal fans and received great reviews worldwide. Following the release, the band went on to promote their album supporting some of the biggest acts in metal, such as Exodus, Forbidden, Heathen, Sadus and Death Angel among others.

At the end of 2009, long-time member Dyz parted ways with the band but was still part of the pre-production for the second album Negligence recorded. The folks at Metal Blade were all excited about what they heard and signed Negligence right away.

Comments the band: “We are very, very proud to become a member of one of the greatest metal record labels in the world and will proudly carry the flag of true metal enthusiasts and metal gurus which is Metal Blade Records!”

As we speak Negligence are busy with the mix of their second album which will be entitled COORDINATES OF CONFUSION! More production details will be announced shortly.

The rockers then pack up their act and head across the Brooklyn Bridge to perform at Manhattan’s Highline Ballroom for the “Gotham Rocks Showcase” on Thursday, July 29. The band will give another intense performance of tracks off their well received full-length debut album Rhythm and Bruise.

-Ion Dissonance To Release New Album CURSED Via Basick Records On August 23rd, 2010

Hold Tight! PR are proud to announce that Basick Records will be releasing CURSED, the new ear-crushing album from Canadian extreme technical heroes, Ion Dissonance.

Ion Dissonance was founded in early 2002 by five friends who had the intention of creating an extreme metal sound, more defined and complex than anything else previously heard before.

After three successful and progressive full-length albums (notably 2007’s MINUS THE HERD) and more than 750 shows played in over five years of touring, ID went into hiatus to concentrate on a more personal life, as well as renew their inspiration to create pioneering extreme music. After almost three years of working full time jobs the band finally came back together and created CURSED (recorded and produced by the band’s guitar player Antoine Lussier); an album inspired by the band’s personal struggles and underpinned by a unifying determinism to break the mould of generic standards in heavy music.

With their heaviest and most extreme album to date, the band is ready to bring their fresh new style to a whole new level…

CURSED, Ion Dissonance’s fourth album, will be released in Europe on August 23rd, 2010.

For more details, links and quotes from the band and label, please see the Basick Records news article here:

-Black Skies: North Carolina Disciples Of Doom Announce Summer Tour

North Carolina disciples of doom, Black Skies, are set to embark on a U.S. tour throughout the month of July. The tour will commence at The Smiling Moose in Pittsburgh and hit 22 cities before closing in Nashville, TN at Springwater Supper Club. The band will hit the road with a new lineup, new songs and a high energy live display of sonic power they’ve built their name upon. Founding members Kevin Clark and Michelle Temple will be joined by ex-Des Ark drummer Tim Herzog. Former roommates, Kevin and Tim have remained in contact over the years and are very much looking forward to the opportunity to finally make music together. Black Skies’ new material retains the heaviness of their earlier work, with more dynamic song structures and a psychedelic edge creating a more interesting overall sound. Following the tour, the band will begin preparations for recording what they hope to be their best release to date.

Says guitarist Kevin Clark of the upcoming trek: “We’ve had our share of ups and downs over the past 12 months, but getting out west last year was without a doubt one of the better moments. We are thrilled to be heading out there again this summer, seeing the faces and places that made it such a blast. We played with a lot of great bands and met a lot of awesome souls with a true love and hunger for music. Those people are a big part of the drive for us to continue doing what we love to do, and we are eternally grateful for them.”

Black Skies released their HEXAGON E.P. on vinyl last year via underground Chicago imprint I’m Better Than Everyone Records. Featuring songs made of heavy, well-thought out (and equally well-executed) riffs alongside churning organic grooves, HEXAGON sports a tonal chemistry befitting of a legendary band sharing the same initials, yet with a decidedly American flavor. Through hard work and a DIY drive, Black Skies continue gaining momentum with their live output.
